  1. Yeah, and Jed didn't get a farewell scene either. Can't remember re Suzanne and Lanna. I was more into the CBS soaps around this time anyway, so I was happy that Susan turned up on Y&R. Missed Bill, of course. Being married to a man 18 years older than her probably makes her seem older too. They had her paired with a younger man on YR, and tried that when she returned to Days in 1990, but it didn't go anywhere.
  2. Here are some clips with Donald May re the Serena Farraday story. Serena had another personality named Josie. Adam was defending her in a murder trial. And an article from 1968 regarding his one-man show in a 1968 episode. I have an interview with him from 1969 and he said the crew had given him a kinescope of that episode (which of course was done live then). Would love to see that one.
  3. I haven't either, including on Another World and The Doctors.
  4. Frons definitely played a role, but DePriest got mad at them after they asked for a meeting to discuss the manner in which Doug and Julie were being written (especially Doug). Bill didn't like the way Doug was always angry at Hope, and didn't think it was in character. DePriest told him that he didn't know anything about raising children (despite him raising five children of his own). DePriest told them she would no longer write for them. They ad-libbed their last lines in their final scenes in 1984. They've said they probably should have let everything blow over and waited it out until there was another regime change. Funny that Susan was considered "old" at 40.
  5. I had read she moved to Spain many years ago. I think this is her FB page but she hasn't posted anything in over ten years. https://www.facebook.com/alberta.grant.3
  6. Susan's mother wrote these scenes for them. It had been almost nine years since we had last seen them on screen together. We never were given a reason for them splitting up in the first place (not counting the real-life factors).
  7. @slick jonesLuchino Solito De Solis
  8. Haha—that’s one spelling I didn’t think of trying!
  9. I think you're right about Christopher Plummer playing Bradley Hawkes (who is described in a 1954 TV Guide as a young police lieutenant who works with Dr. Adams to solve crimes). Definitely looks like Plummer wearing the gun holster. Also, could that be Donald Woods in the photo with him? I've found one newspaper that lists him as part of the cast.
  10. Finally had some luck with Eubanks! Thompson too! And Denvir.
  11. Found Boyd Crawford but I struck out with the others.
  12. Hilary goes by Hilary Edson Polk now. She seems to be mostly involved with theater but this is something she did about five years ago.
  13. @slick jonesRe Eugene Eubank, couldn't find any reference to him being on Arnold Grimm or being an actor. He seemed to be a life-long military man, since 1917. Retired in 1954. The only thing I found re Ruth Schaefer was that she played 6-year old "Jimmy," on Right to Happiness, in 1948 (while she was a journalism major at Columbia U.). This is Guy De Vestel.
  14. Re Sharon and Julie, can't say it was handled well. Julie strongly rejected Sharon's advances and Sharon ended up slashing her wrists over it. I don't think it was ever meant to be a serious relationship. Julie had only recently finally married Doug and had no idea Sharon was interested in a romantic relationship with her. I always had the impression that Sharon's husband Karl was also interested in Julie, and for some reason I thought Sharon and Karl were "swingers" and wanted Julie to participate. Julie and Sharon did make up right before Sharon left town. I remember Sharon giving Julie a brooch at that time. I'm pretty sure it was all cut short because of fan hate mail. This was around the same time the David/Valerie story was airing.
  15. There don't seem to be any soap bloggers who keep up with the older soaps and actors these days. Other fans seem to be the best source.
  16. Well, our Ted could be deceased also. He'd probably be well into his 80s by now. He was one of my favorites when he was EON.
  17. This was Ted in 2009. @danfling I don't know what Ron Martin has been up to, but he was at least still alive in 2015, according to his mother's (Denise Lor) obituary. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/nytimes/name/denise-horine-obituary?id=21788434
  18. He's a different Ted Tinling. This was Ted in 2009.
  19. No need to apologize @Brent. Your efforts are much appreciated!
  20. The SAG-AFTRA Fall/Winter In Memoriam reported that Paul Savior died on October 1, 2021. A friend of his confirmed it in a blog post. Savior appeared in several soaps but is probably best known for playing Rick Latimer on Love of Life and Dr. Tom Baldwin on General Hospital. "A recent communication from the Roaring Brook Lake Garden Club described him as follows: We wanted to share with you the very sad news that longtime Garden Club member Paul Savior passed away on Friday. Paul had just celebrated his 90th birthday on August 16. He is survived by daughters Valerie and Allison. His daughters said the Garden Club meant a lot to him. Paul had an acting career that spanned over six decades, with roles in shows like Kojak, Mannix, General Hospital, and The Young and The Restless. And of course, starring roles at Tompkins Corner and Garrison Depot Theatre." https://www.aheadworld.org/2021/10/25/goodbye-my-friend/?fbclid=IwAR1aLPzvH1IKbf54d1tq2ydm7t5RcPsPeanz8nzxbCtUqklqGGd3dOSy-iE
  21. Lauri's last name was Leshinsky (I think played by Kelly Wood) and Eric was her son (played by Chris Lowe when I saw him). Scott and Kathy later adopted him. Can't remember what happened to Lauri. This didn't really sound like Ann Williams (who was in her 30s at this time) though. Ida was played by Vera Allen, who was an older actress at this point. Thanks for posting @Brent.
  22. Dan Allison was the character on The Doctors who killed himself and framed Steve Aldrich for his murder. He had a heart attack and tampered with the medical device that was keeping him alive.
