Even though Bill put more focus onto Y&R, i think he did help Brad a lot when he first took over as official head-writer. Thats why i believe B&B was still pretty consistent in 1993-1998, cause Brad had daddy help him to tell these stories . It kind of shocks me that Kay Alden being co head-writer hasn't really help that much, maybe Y&R was more her thing but i just figure she would at least have a lot of knowledge about B&B and could have made the show get back to basics.

So what was going on in that clip? why does Katherine act like she hasn't spoken to Jill for many years, especially when she says "I have waited many years" and asks Jill about Phillip. If Jill and Katherine were still interacting regularly at this point wouldn't she know these things about Jill right now?

I'm a little confused with the Jill/Kay clips with Deborah Adair. In the first video, Did Jill and Kay not have any interaction at all during the years that they replaced Brenda Dickson (the first time) with Bond Gideon and Adair? Forgive me if someone already talked about that but i just need a little memory refresh Adair really does look intimidated (For Real) of Jeanne in those clips. Deedee you pointed that out on another post. I wonder why they still had Jill call Katherine Mrs. Chancellor at this point. I thought once Phillip died and they became enemies for life, Jill just called her by her first name free-willingly.

Was Eve's more funny crazy when she dressed as a caterer at Victor and Nikki's first wedding. I don't think those scenes are on youtube anymore, but it was funny when she was so desperate to poison Nikki that she stalked her the whole wedding and made Brenda's Jill hold the tray of liquor. And of course when she was about to kill Nikki and Casey knocked her over with the door. I probably should know this but what was the aftermath of the whole thing, did Victor and Nikki find out that Eve was there the whole time or did the writers just drop that? I agree Sheila never played for humor, but i have to wonder if a few of the things she did was more "Dark Humor" Like shooting up the tv at the farmhouse. I think sadly after her last few returns and especially Pheila that is when she became too cartoonish.

Deedee, would you say that Eve was Y&R's original Sheila. She just seemed like she was portrayed as a total nutjob, going after Julia with the knife and causing trouble for victor/Nikki. It's amazing how much different she was 10 yrs later where she came back with Cole. It's interesting that Y&R has had a lot of psychotic female characters on the show and people would probably say that Sheila was the ultimate bad girl on the soap. I wonder if any other woman could have surpassed Sheila in terms of Y&R's most psychotic woman.

I have heard a lot about this Jed Sanders guy (He is in one of my old episodes from November 1993 as you recall) From what i read it seems like they bounced him from story to story He started out being Nina's supposed father, then when it was proved he wasn't he started sniffing around Nikki and fighting with Victoria and then seduced Jill on the side when she and John were having marital problems. It doesn't really seem like a well conceived umbrella story where the original starting character in his story ( Nina) rarely has any connection to Nikki, but even though she is connected to Jill, i doubt they were thinking about the Jill/Nikki rivalry when everyone found out Jill was sleeping with Jed while dating Nikki. I guess what i am trying to say is that they never really knew where to take this guy, Did he just vanish when he was let go?

I feel that in retrospect that Brad Bell really should not be writing for B&B anymore, but at the same time i have this weird feeling that they can't afford to loose him as well.... Jamey has also said that Maria is nothing but a "famewhore" with all of her stunt casting and because of that there is a possibility that she is just embarrassed that she writes a soap opera... I really wouldn't be surprised if she did hire Stockard Channing as the new Leanna Love.....

I still wonder if being married to Hunter Tylo at the time was a reason Blade was pushed so much. I never really can get Blade, but i would still love to see those 1994/1995 episodes that involved the Blade/Rick fiasco. I asked this before but can somebody confirm if the reason why Y&R started to have some sloppiness to the storylines starting in the 90's was because Bill was started to get sick. If this was the case why couldn't his other writers correct some of his mistakes? Was some of the bad continuity/ people teleporting to different places in the span of 5 seconds an example of him being inconsistent or was that someone elses fault when it was time to break down the script?

Given that Steve Burton is a slightly better actor than Scott Reeves, that is one thing that would have been different. I think they would have probably changed the character a little bit to fit his range, which makes me think that Ryan/Nina would have never happen. Also because he has been playing a dark character on a dark show like GH for a long time now, It would be interesting to see what Steve would be like on a more Sophiscated show like Y&R Thanks for confirming Zach's character on B&B. I can't see Steve on B&B.

Steve Burton tested for Zach on B&B,AJ on GH and Ryan on Y&R Ha, I knew SB had to have tested for Ryan at some point. I would have loved to see what he would be like playing that role. Even though his buddy Scott Reeves did a great job when he was there, i feel Steve would have made a fantastic Ryan, he and Heather Tom would probably have fantastic chemistry. Not sure about he and Tricia Cast but they maybe would have looked cute together too. Who was Zach on B&B? was he Taylor's brother that was on for a short while, that also got involved with Felicia? If so Steve would have been too young for that part.

Kind of a random topic to revive this thread once again, but just because I'm thinking about it, does anyone remember what Judith Chapman was like when she took over for Jill a couple days in 1989 i think it was? I'm pretty sure most of you will say it was like a younger Gloria, but how did she look wearing Walton's clothes, and how did she fair sharing scenes with Katherine/Nina. Also i heard somewhere that they found another temp replacement for Jill around 1992, can someone confirmed if this is true or not?

Granted i don't watch AMC that much but i know Bianca and all can i say is someone must have been on something when they thought of Adrianne! she is good as Amber, but Bianca would have been a terrible role for her.

Haha thanks for that summary soapfan. I think you should post that episode as it does sound like a pretty good episode even if not much was going on. The part with Nikki and Hope sounds like fun, also the scenes with Brad and Jack as well as Ryan/Nina/Victoria/Cole. I also have many classic episodes from the 90's that i bought from ioffer. Well worth it if you want to see old episodes and not too expensive. I have episodes that spam from February 1989-November 1993. I also have uploaded most of these episodes on youtube and will provide the link to my channel so you and everyone else can see my episodes. I have enjoy seeing these classic shows, however some episodes are indeed pretty boring. They are not bad, but just have periods were not much happen, kind of like your August 1995 episodes. Also i was shocked at how bad some of the scenes jumped around. There are some episodes where a character is having a scene with one person and within the span of another scene would suddenly "teleport" to share scenes with someone else. For example on this one episode from May 14 1991, Leanna is having a scene with Brad and she gets freaked out when she finds out that Jill might be taking over her show, with a close up of her facial expression. Then the scene cuts to Nikki which only lasts a bout a minute or so, then to Victor's office and in walks Leanna not only arriving there faster than what she is suppose to, but in an entirely different outfit that she had on when she was with Brad. I don't really think she had much of a story. She was the African American detective on the show in the late 80's/early 90's who was often helping Paul and his father solve crimes (Mainly the George Rawlins Murder) I believe she was kind of a replacement to the character Amy who was also working for Paul in the 80's. The original actress to play Salena was Fay Hauser. On the episodes where she is replaced by this Candy Ann Brown woman, She is helping other detectives bust Danny for his possession of cocaine. (which David Kimble planted in his dressing room)

So who was that "mysterious" woman who bought Cole/Nina/Ryan/Victoria to dinner? I have scene the clips of them getting calls from the woman, but don't recall them ever revealing who it was that bought them together. I wish more Full episodes from 1995 were on youtube. Minus all the Nick and Sharon clips i have seen from that year. It would be neat to see the original episodes and how everything came together that year. (since that specific Y&R year seemed like it had bloated story-lines)

So is it safe to say that Sharon is the latest victim of THAT type of writing you just described. I say she is because Giggly definitely wronged her when she had the affair with Nick. Yet like Victor she has never really payed for her past crimes and continues to gloat about all the stuff she does.
