I have to say this about Heather Tom since its on my mind. To me its really hard to believe that she was still around when all the stuff that has made Y&R what it is today started to get unleashed. I guess she left at the knick of time (despite how sad it was to lose her) but its hard to imagine her still being on when Kevin was introduced and Christel was beginning to stink up the show as Lily (even if it wasn't that bad yet) and J.T became a more prominant character, I wonder if Thad Luckinbill would have had good chemistry with Heather, what do you guys think?

I know when you mean about the "edgier" Lauren no longer existing. One of the greatest moments between Lauren and Sheila i have seen is when Sheila reveals herself to Lauren (for real) and tells her that she was alive all along. What made that scene so great to me was the fact that The last time Lauren and Sheila were together it was a terrifying moment since it was when they were at the farmhouse with the fire. Even though Sheila was in control at that point, Lauren still let Sheila have it for all the hell she put her and her mother through, when she could have just ran out or something. I think Bill did an excellent job of showing that only in a soap opera can you fulfill the dream of saying all you wanted to say to the person who caused you so much pain, but died before you could really let your feeling be known. So i guess Lauren started to dumb down under Jack Smith too, I feel like Kay Alden still respected that Lauren needed to be bitchy at times.

IMO i think sheila started becoming more of a cartoon when they brought her back for that short stint on B&B in September/October 2003. I never really saw the whole thing but it looked ridiculous for Brooke/Nick/Ridge to be held captive by Sheila on an Island. As for the Y&R return, I think another thing that made it bad was that it was an excuse to prop the Gloria and the Fisher/Baldwins, deedee you will agree on that LOL Do you think it would ever have been possible to keep Sheila on the show longer?

What about Michael damian, why haven't they asked him back?

Deedee was one of the reasons why Sheila's 2005 story more of a downer because they didn't get Christine more involved in that part of the story? I know she was there for most of the Terrible Tom stuff, but i noticed by watching those episodes and reading online transcripts from that year, besides that one scene where she reunited with Scotty and sheila was spying on them, Christine was not really involved in the Sheila part of that story. Like i don't think there were any scenes were Chris spoke out loud about Sheila being involved and stuff like that, weird since That was once her sister-in-law so IMO i feel like she was important to that element too.

I think after Lauralee left the first time in 2001 was the beginning of her phasing out. I notice that throughout 2001-2006 She was wasn't even on the show for all 12 months and if she was, she was recurring. Then she had that guest spot on B&B for like two episodes right? As much as i would like Danny to come back, i have a feeling Damian is done with the show too. Its a shame because Daniel has been in the worst shape only having Giggly as a "role model"

I didn't realize that Lauralee felt that way about Christine during the last few years she was on contract with the show. I think she could have returned for those events in 2008 it just felt so weird for Danny and Nina to both be there without her. Speaking of Danny, why hasn't the show tried to get Michael Damian back on for a few guests spots after the hell Daniel was put through? I guess his music has something to do with it, but i feel like its long overdue for him to return, I can only picture him doing guest spots on the show, since i feel like characters like Danny only could mesh well with the Y&R of a different time (his being the 80's/90's)

You're probably right Which is a shame because i feel like she actually has something that Maria lacks...Brains I think Lauralee became done with Y&R sadly after her father died, Her returns recently have really done nothing, minus the fact that some fans are just happy to see her back on screen (which is the only reason why Maria has her come back)

I once heard someone suggest that a way of saving Y&R was to just let Lauralee Bell take over the show? Do you think that would work? I mean if they feel safer with Bells, they might as well try having her be in charge, and since B&B kind of did that with Flannery, maybe that might spark something....

So if Maria weren't a Bell, do you think she would have been gone by now?

You know what i also find interesting. How close Jeanne is to her two leading gal pals Jess and Melody. Jeanne and Jess as we know have this bff thing going on off camera, but its not the same with her and Melody. I'm not saying those two don't get along cause they do, i'm just saying its interesting how Jeanne and melody never formed the same closeness that her and Jess did ( even though i think its because of their drug history)

I wonder how Vicki agreed to have Melody guess star on diagnosis murder for that Y&R episode, since i thought that Vicki was responsible for that episode being possible, unless that wasn't in her power. It must have been painful to have those scenes with the two of them done together Have Vicki and Heather Tom gotten along over the years Deedee? I remember reading on Vicki's twitter that someone ask her how "Victoria" (not naming Heather or Amelia) was on the set, and Vicki replied: "Didn't speak much to her" or something like that. I kind of assume she meant Heather since i know she can be snobby too.

I have really mixed feelings where Melody is concerned. I feel like at some aspects she can be generous towards people and the show itself, but i feel like overall she is the shows "snob" Another thing i was wondering is about her and Victoria Rowell. I know Viki has spoke free willingly on how she thought both Melody and Ed were A**holes and Melody did that wig incident that was very rude. But how did the two actually get along over the years. I assume they were cordial together for the most part until Melody did that cruel prank.

Wait... So Eric and Brenda DID share scenes together?? Man i bet that looked very Trippy. LOL Was it just jealousy that made Brenda and MTS dislike each other? Again i feel like Melody really only cared for Jess as Jill, Bond wasn't there that long, and even as nice as i heard Deborah was, i would think that Melody didn't take the time to get to know her.

I personally feel like Chloe is the best new character that has come out of this hellhole. I feel like Elizabeth Hendrickson has really proved her talents over the last 3 years and its just terrible how she is apart of this horrid writing regime. If i wrote for the show, i would give Chloe material she is capable of. Its a good thing that her sarcasm can make some good out of this slop. I guess i shouldn't get my hopes up of any Braeden and Dixon scenes popping up either...

I also feel like they were trying to start a Lauren and Jill rivalry in the 80's over Brad. I've seen a scene from the Jill's men lines party where Jill (Brenda as Jill) keeps singing Brad's phrases to the press, while Lauren looks on jealous. Was that there plan, then Brenda left? Interesting that scenes exist of Lauren interacting with Brenda's Jill, but i have never seen any Melody/Brenda scenes

Okay, just because i never really understood the whole point of it, but in a nutshell, how where Sheila and Lauren together on B&B?. It seems like they never really had them at each others throats as much over there, or even in each others orbits. Lauren was seducing Eric and Sheila made a new enemy in Leanna/Maggie. How could Lauren stand living with her nightmare for 3 more years?? What did everyone think of the Lauren/Katherine BFF thing they had going on for a while when Lauren first returned in 2000/2001. I guess they did that because they weren't sure that Melody was going to return after her first major contract dispute. I thought it looked refreshing and its a shame that since becoming a Baldwin/Fisher prop, she and Kay can't have that same fun chemistry. Also its interesting that they did that considering that Lauren and Katherine were really never seen together as much in the 90's Even though it's always been said that they were good friends. I think the earliest Lauren and Katherine on the internet is when Danny and her first meet Kay when they want her to help contribute to the music video thing in 1984.

True that! Deedee would you happen to know if any cliques were formed on Y&R over the years. I'm curious to know which cast members hang out with one another when not taping. Like i know Kimberlin and Hunter were inseperable at first on B&B but who did she hang out with on the Y&R set. My guess is Victoria Rowell and Tonya Lee cause i have seem a few pics of her posing with them, plus they all started on Y&R around the same time. Was Kimberlin close with those two Deedee?

Did Traci and Sheila even meet?

I think Bill did lose interest. in the recaps you posted Lauren's stories only consists of like 1 paragraph. I'm curious about Traci too, she and Lauren must have buried the hatchet for a while considering they sang a duet at the Masquerade Ball, while Sheila was still terrorizing Lauren.

When Kimberlin had her podcast interviews she spoke fairly fondly of her Y&R (and B& cast mates. What i thought was cool though is that she told a story on how she and Jeanne Cooper did a book signing in new orleans and afterword Jeanne took Kimberlin sight seeing around there. I thought that was cool considering Katherine and Sheila never crossed paths on the show ( i wish they did) and of course didn't work with Kimberlin that much, cause i feel on Y&R (especially in the Bill Bell days) Its hard to get to know your co stars who your barely work with even if you have been on the same show with them for years
