  1. I read about this earlier today and even hours later it makes me feel so sick. The words "senseless killing" are sometimes overused, but I don't know what else to say here. It was a violent, brutal death. It's like something from a film. There was even an old man there who tried to stop it and was also injured in the process. This woman seems to be what any politician should be - principled, intelligent, willing to fight for her beliefs. And she was murdered as a result.
  2. I still think he and James would be a good couple...
  3. He doesn't have the right face.
  4. She's back briefly. Most of her story was last year. She (playing Reenie McQueen) was in a story about generations of abuse - her mother, Marlena McQueen, didn't believe her when she said Marlena's boyfriend sexually abused her. Years later, she didn't believe her daughter Porsche when Porsche said Reene's boyfriend, Pete, sexually abused her. He went on to sexually abuse her younger daughter, Cleo. He's awaiting trial. She's in prison for theft or something.
  5. Are you watching any other UK soaps at the moment? Cruising Soaps - you may want to try the McDean clips from 2007. The story isn't really as good as it's sometimes made out to be, but there are so many wonderful characters on display. That era was a wonderful period for the show.
  6. The delusion of media darling Marco and those around him continues to baffle me. What exactly do they think he can do about Orlando? Give them more bottled water? Pass out free Tupac CDs?
  7. Her shade is hilarious: "All I can say is we employ a veteran, and he's a good person." She must have really wanted him out. I wonder if the execs regret it now that he apparently has gained weight. I wasn't going to check the show out but this makes it sound like it at least deserves a try. At least he might finally have an ass.
  8. They care if they can use it to bomb somebody. That's about as far as it goes.
  9. I know "In the Forest..." wasn't liked by fans, but I didn't mind it that much (it had a different style than most recent episodes), so I'm glad he'll be writing another.
  10. None of this is new to Trump - he peddled the same conspiracy theories in 2011 and 2012. I think people just expected him to stop once he hit the general election. I don't think he has any ability to stop, or filter himself. He likely also sees it as a winning formula, and sadly I'm not entirely sure he's wrong (I'm already seeing the GOP parrot the line that Obama cares more about Trump than he does about the shooter).
  11. So is Sandor still as dull and pointless as he was in his last two seasons on the show?
  12. Thanks. That Craig story sounds weird as hell.
  13. No. Cameron wants him out of the way so after trying to kill him didn't work, he convinced dumbass Ste to start taking crystal meth.
  14. The thing is with Lawrence and Bernice is that the man she married hadn't been with any men for a long time. As far as she knew, there had never been much of anything since he was a young man. She knew he couldn't have sex with her, and she resigned herself to that, but I think she assumed he was genuinely going to live the life with her that he promised. Instead he clearly has all these feelings for another man, and he's clearly lying to her about all of them. I think that's what she sees as a betrayal. In a way she brought it on herself, which she admitted, but I still feel for her. I saw some trying to act like Emmerdale ripped off Phil Mitchell, but at least this instance was in a more logical context. They put Phil's rampage in haha comedy mode even as the story was supposedly supposed to be serious, with his 30-year old daughter in danger for about 3 minutes.
  15. Probably, yes, as Rick was a non-character anyway.
  16. The link is everything you said about being tired of the two party system and it's time to break away and so on. It's everything Nader said. The main difference is Bernie pretended to be a Democrat for a short while in order to get resources and attention. His platform has also steadily become about his ego and platitudes. It gets some attention, and I agree with some of his positions, but I feel like the basic idea of it is a fantasy. It doesn't help that he's surrounded by tone deaf, bitter advisers.
  17. People said the same things about Nader that they say about Bernie. Susan Sarandon being the #1 in that department. And yet they keep on winning. It's because they know how to use every tool at their disposal. That won't change anytime soon.
  18. Like with Ralph Nader? America will never break away from a two party system. The far right knows this. It's why the evangelicals and the Tea Party always supports the GOP, rather than splitting. Democrats never remember or care. It's why they lose and keep losing.
  19. I can't take Abi. Lorna's constant pouting and flouncing has hit my last nerves. Lauren is worse than Abi in a lot of ways, and Jacq Jossa isn't much of an actress herself, but we've had a year and a half break from her. Abi never goes away. And at least Lauren sometimes has self-awareness. Abi never ever does. Worst of all is that I just know they will stick Jay with her again. I will not watch that. Kush already turned Donna down. The whole story is just contrived and another example of a producer who thinks women are just baby machines. Kim is the only one whose reaction makes sense, which is odd to say. There was a scene where Sharon dragged Paul to his grandfather and berated Paul for humping with Ben in the back of a car at the garage, because Phil has already been through so much. SO so so awful. So awful. Sharon has lost all perspective and is now officially Phil's diaper-changer.
  20. NBA, not sure if you're still on your EE break, but there's only one scene you'd need to see from tonight: If only he'd run over Abi's nasty ass.
  21. Love all the family drama, especially over the impending divorce. And Vicky lashing out that way with Joy, reckless as ever - classic Vicky.
  22. Thanks. That next to last shot is awkward...
  23. Greg Watkins nearly died in a boating accident in summer 1995. He was fired not long after, as part of the large cast cull. When he returned that likely was a reason for some of the differences.
