  1. That old fossil Woodward, whose main income in recent years has been reminding us of why Democrats are bad, kicks up one of the "both sides do it" canards that David Broder would be proud of. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/bob-woodward-excessive-rhetoric-feeding-trump
  2. Meet the new "NASCAR dads" and "soccer moms," and they seem as stupid and ill-informed as you'd expect (complete with "have a beer with"). http://www.politico.com/story/2016/08/who-will-walmart-moms-vote-for-226860 I saw in a Youtube comments section (where else) that people were trying to claim Hillary was having Bernie booster killed (Vince Foster is so passe I guess), and apparently that sleazy man is behind this too: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/hillary-clinton-wikileaks-seth-rich-conspiracy
  3. So...Joanie getting her happy wedding with the inevitable Zak/Lisa reunion signposting (couples we're supposed to see as endgame don't have the ex-wife walking away in tears as the closing scene) pretty much signals Joanie dying, right? It's too bad in a way, as Denise Black gave a wonderful performance in this episode (her first since this awful story began), but it's too little too late with the character. Thomas Atkinson is also doing superb work lately, but I tend to think it's too late for Lachlan as well. It's too bad it took this long for a producer to make an effort with him beyond ambiguous rapist.
  4. Hillary's lucky that Trump opened his cakehole today as otherwise the news coverage likely would have been this: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/10/us/politics/hillary-clinton-rally-orlando-nightclub-shooters-father.html?_r=0 I totally believe her people that they didn't invite him there or know he would be there, but it's very sloppy that he was let in.
  5. Is this Vince Williams in the Levi's ad about a minute and a half in?
  6. The hair and makeup remind me of this: http://www.unrealitytv.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/natalia-kills.jpg
  7. You get a gist of politics today when you type Tim Kaine into Google and the first hit is "Tim Kaine open marriage."
  8. That's what Chris Fountain fired from Corrie.
  9. I would agree if these actors didn't become so idolized. When I see an actor who has a lot of young fans brandishing a knife and repeatedly saying bizarre things on social media, I do pause. I don't think he should be fired, but I can see why the show would be concerned.
  10. Most Hollyoaks viewers are teenagers. The show courts a teenage audience. I imagine that his Instagram is even more heavily dominated by teenagers. When that's the case, and he's directly posting this stuff (it's not even done via disguise like Chris Fountain), I think there's more of a responsibility.
  11. I imagine the kids are resentful because before W and Jeb shat the bed, they were hyped as the next generation of Republican stars, with the media breathlessly proclaiming that because they were Latino, all Hispanic voters would support them.
  12. Parry Glasspool in another mess. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hollyoaks/news/a803873/hollyoaks-parry-glasspool-instagram-domestic-violence-video-backlash/ Duncan James talks about his serious health problems. http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/hollyoaks/news/a803866/hollyoaks-duncan-james-on-health-scare/
  13. Another Kimmy Robertson ad. I wonder how many she's done...
  14. A look at the Green Party convention, with brilliant personalities such as this:
  15. Jeff Zucker wants Trump to win. He even hired a man who is basically still working for the Trump campaign. That network is craven beyond belief.
  16. The media is so desperate for narratives, so they can feel intelligent and important. One that I hate is when they go scrounge around for Obama voters who are now voting Trump. It's one that gets attention and helps push the story they want (that Trump is an "outsider" and "man of the people") and ignores that most Obama voters would never go anywhere near him.
  17. The daily tracking polls often favor Trump. I can't remember if they favored Romney. The media wants him to win so that will always be a factor too.
  18. Yes. Ellie (who looks oddly like Stephanie Davis) is a hallucination only she sees. She says it's an old mate from juvie, but some fans think it's a dark version of herself ("Belle" "Ellie"). What do you think of the Nicola and Dan story? I know some hate it because it's an affair plot or because they don't think she'd ever go for Dan, but so far I'm enjoying it. The story clearly isn't about burning passion, it's about Nicola's fears and doubts about herself, and her inability to express them to Jimmy. It's sort of taking Nicola back to her first run on the show, which I'm glad about, whether it's intentional or not. I also keep seeing some person on that Digital Spy forum claiming Emmerdale is ripping off Sally and Tim on Corrie. I get so bored with that type of nonsense. Their stories have nothing in common at this point.
