EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Preston didn't just sleep with an elder - he repeatedly used Bex for sex and as a cover for his relationship with Michelle. I think that was the main reason Martin was so angry. It was difficult for me to feel sorry for Preston, I guess because they didn't want us to, but I don't know if Martin accidentally running over someone would stop him from being furious at his teenage daughter being used that way. The pity parties for Michelle are nauseating, although I did like the scene where she wore Preston down until he agreed to leave, because they reminded me a lot of what Den would have done.

There's one part of that I do agree with but not the victim-blaming, racist way he dismissed it. I do think that focusing too much on bigotry and hate will lose votes, but that's mostly if you obscure a lot of the other elements of your campaign, the way I think Hillary did when everything became all about Trump and I would see Hillary ads that were just nothing but Trump clips rather than anything supporting her. That doesn't mean you shouldn't call these things out, and it definitely doesn't mean that you should dismiss the people who are saying that it's offensive. Telling a black woman "stop shaking your head" is racist and offensive. No one would ever say that to a white man. Talking about a black woman's hair is racist and offensive. You can't just say "It's a joke." A lot of things are "jokes," but what does that mean? It would be one thing if Suzy Social Justice Warrior was telling you about why you can't celebrate Thanksgiving, but when people who are affected by these "jokes" are telling you they're offensive and wrong, then if you call yourself anything beyond a flaming right winger, it's your duty to listen.

That he's there yukking it up with Rick Santorum says it all. He's always been a self-absorbed contrarian twat who gets a free pass because a lot of people think he's cool. And the audience cheering that man (Santorum) turns my stomach. I'm so glad I canceled my HBO subscription a few years back.

@BetterForgotten I don't know if you're still watching but Sharon has gone back to her 2001 hairstyle. If only the rest of the character was back to 2001 best.

James Shannon had various bit roles on DS. His acting as Paul is...hilarious, but when he briefly took off his shades after being nicked by a car he looked hot as hell. Really hot. I'm surprised he didn't get bigger work. But his look is a bit closer to men who hit it big in more recent years than in that era. Marta Heflin does such an excellent job as Shana, making a plot device character oddly sympathetic. I had never seen her work before, other than her thankless role in Come Back to the 5 and Dime. I guess she was more of a theater actress.

So Mike Pence apparently doesn't go into any room alone with a woman (if only his boss had shown the same courtesy...), because of his wife and his being a fundamentalist Christian. I've heard people say how dare you question him, you godless liberals, and so on, even though this means he can't really have any proper meeting with any woman in power and that women who work for him will always be kept firmly in their place. All I could think was if a Muslim VP had this rule, there would be nationwide outrage and Faux News would run pieces every day.- Doctor Who
That's great. I'm so pleased they're going to try something new and treat it respectfully.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
All this ugliness with Keshia Knight-Pullman and Ed Hartwell - I wonder if the RHOA producers wish they'd put her on (or maybe they wanted to and she said no?)- Dynasty Discussion Thread
I think up to the last few years? Dynasty ad (sort of) at the end of this, with a woman who could have been that second Amanda...- The Politics Thread

Well I have a feeling she'll be having a baby soon anyway... Have you seen any of the Cain/Harriet stuff?- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Watching it was eerie as she even talks like Holly. I have a feeling she's going to just end up using Jai and maybe Moira but I hope not as I'd hate for Holly's memory to be exploited that way. It's hard to say with the cast because they've had a big cast for a while now and with ever-lowering budgets and ratings for soaps you wonder how long that can last. I just hope that none of my favorite supporting people who never have enough to do end up going. If anyone like Leyla or Bernice left I'd really have to question watching. They can have the Whites though...- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I think Rebecca will go too (no loss...), and Lachlan, maybe Chrissie. I could see a few supporting characters going as well, like Dan and Kerry. I know Hola isn't safe but I put it on again to watch the Emmerdale Ashley promo on their site. It just breaks my heart. The whole story. All of it. The promo too. They've also started putting deleted scenes up again and they have an interview with Chris Bisson about his new story, which is with a Holly lookalike.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
Considering Richard Carpenter's own pill addiction it's eerily appropriate.- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I know you aren't too fond of Adam Thomas... It hasn't been confirmed, but I assume it's true. He's barely had a story since 2014, which is a long time even for a soap, his brother left Corrie last year, his other brother seems to have gotten a lot out of being on reality TV, and he was popular on I'm A Celebrity. I've always liked Adam Barton and thought Thomas was an underrated actor, so I hope it isn't true. And Moira really will be at a loss - she will just be even more shackled to the Dingles. I don't know what it will do with Victoria - she could get a new lease of life or become even more of a background player. I keep thinking we'll be hearing about Mike Parr sooner rather than later.- The Politics Thread
How Trump can easily destroy the ACA (I imagine this will happen any day now - and I also imagine a lot of people will still blame Obama and Democrats for it). http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/trump-obamacare-explode-236623 Mentions of "climate change" among other bad words are now banned. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/energy-department-climate-change-phrases-banned-236655- Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
He's probably a producer pet. I couldn't watch any of Amy's death as it wasn't about her anyway, just about Ste, as always. What did you think?- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
The worst part is the scene where Martin tries to attack Preston. She is cowering in the corner like she's in Broken Blossoms. It's completely and totally out of character.- All My Children Tribute Thread
I think this may be a duplicate of another clip that was already put up, but I can't remember, so...?- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
