  1. There are also the gross sexual comments Trump has made about her. I feel like some elements of society are increasingly happy to normalize that mindset, unfortunately...
  2. https://deadline.com/2018/07/nicolas-lopez-steps-down-sobras-production-company-aftershock-knock-knock-eli-roth-1202420298/
  3. Others have already explained it, but it always seemed like a "we don't know what to do with these people" scenario. I wonder how Broderick felt about Barbara as she was mostly a supporting figure throughout Broderick's tenure as headwriter.
  4. That NYT article is rambling, pandering word salad. And it essentially calls the people it is pandering to hypocrites, so I don't know who it is supposed to please. I think my favorite part is when they decide to mention that various leaders of Europe are childless and Trump is not, even though Hillary being a loving mother in the public eye for 25 years got her nothing but attacks and derision, certainly not support. If we think about this, and the attacks the Obama children faced, I guess he is saying that you get support for being a loving father if you are a white man (straight man of course). Not sure why that's worthy of an op-ed either. So many op-eds are either ponderous nothingness or quasi-incisive pieces that really just end up stating the obvious. I don't know why people still read any opinion pieces in that paper.
  5. Didn't Rebecca Hollen play one of them?
  6. I didn't know they dated. Ellen Dolan talked about how during the Carolyn Crawford murder saga she would have to talk about one character named "Bill" and another named "Billy" and the actors would lose track.
  7. I know. I never even really knew they interacted, although I guess they had to, given Lucinda's loathing of her father. Such camp goodness. Lucinda was at her best as a messy, messy character who was all over the place pushing buttons - if I have little else good to say about the last year of ATWT, I'm glad they at least remembered that.
  8. At first I didn't care for him but he improved as I saw more. I liked his bond with Lisa - Tom and Eileen had better mother/son chemistry than quite a few Toms I can remember (the only other one I remember having any was Scott Holmes).
  9. @safe here's an old New York Life ad featuring Richard Backus (sort of). Certainly a very unique use of him.
  10. Thank you @YRfan23 ! What a hoot. Remember when we actually had anything to say about B&B? (for anyone who doesn't remember - Susan Flannery used to reference this scene any time she had a scene or storyline that she thought sucked) What an awful, ridiculous story - even for 2018 soaps. (for some reason I thought it was "Seventh Avenue" not "Ocean Avenue") I didn't know Caroline and Stephanie had the same hairstyle. Ridge really did have mommy issues... Kristen looks pissed off. Maybe it's just the eyebrows.
  11. I wonder if the Republicans will play along - they are so craven they probably will. I am glad we are getting the nominee in a week as it's obvious that he is probably going to pick Kavanaugh, or another far right activist white guy. Throwing in a few women and minorities feels more like lip service than ever with someone like Trump. I saw that Ben Shapiro was freaking out about Kavanaugh not being the right kind of conservative until various people of his ilk stepped in to reassure him. I have a feeling this guy is going to just be there for corporations and won't even bother to hide it - he will be so bought and paid for (even more than Gorsuch) we will see a cash register pinned to his robe.
  12. I said that in reply to someone asking if he could put the episodes back on somewhere. Sorry if it wasn't sensitive enough, I just thought they'd want a quick answer.
  13. They probably would have cried so much Oakdale would've been flooded. MJ returned briefly in 1998 or 1999, when John was in court with Carly about her unborn child (I think). He thought he was the father as he'd artificially inseminated her and used his own sperm (ugh) without her knowing (she wanted a baby so she could get a lot of money from Rosanna). I think he didn't come back with Sheffer because they just didn't care about John by that point. I can see why Marland split them up - Lucinda had to pay a price for her many, many schemes so that viewers would feel sorry for her. Losing John was a big part of that. And she continued to be a major part of his life, which led to more drama. I think the mistake was in what they did with John after he and Lucinda split up. The relationship with Iva was just so somber, and he didn't need another child. John worked best on the outside.
  14. Capitol promo about 8 minutes and 45 seconds into this.
  15. Radar is generally a crapsite.
