  1. Thanks for that great find @dc11786
  2. I've seen your channel. Great to hear you have more content to upload. I agree this is one of the more unique periods for Reva, helped by not being able to tie her so heavily to Josh. I wonder if they ever considered bringing Kyle back.
  3. Someone else will know better than me but I think they may have been burnt out + they were moved over to ATWT to try to salvage it (which did not work out...). I believe Morgan and Jennifer were all Marland. I've wondered if they just brought Peggy back as a kindness to Fran Meyers, as she was transitioning out of acting into writing and was a new mother. It's a shame they didn't do more with her. There are a number of characters who suit the Dobsons tone and style so specifically that they just seem to fade into nothingness under Marland's weird combo of heavy plot and I'm-OK-you're-OK jargoning, or become much more exhausting (Amanda among them). The odd thing with the Dobsons is I don't think they ever really match this quality or ability to focus elsewhere. Maybe they were just a very strong team with Allen Potter, I don't know.
  4. The ranch?
  5. Not a time jump, just a flash forward.
  6. Here's more of the full performance. I did not realize just how long the very awkward name part went on. That probably helped contribute to how out of breath she was. Interview with the producer. https://variety.com/2023/tv/global/ariana-debose-rap-baftas-carey-mulligan-1235529343/
  7. I wouldn't say any of those stories are attempts to reach broader viewers. I think they are just Carlivati's fetish material. I would imagine his writing just makes people even more anti-gay than they already are. None of the soaps care about bringing in new viewers, but I do think Trina and her relationship with Spencer have been more successful at getting attention without alienating the conservative viewer base than others in recent years...whether that is intentional or not, I have no idea.

  9. Bosson did a lot with a part which could have come across as the ex-wife from hell.
  10. Frankie was new age, but she did have psychic abilities as well. This came into play again in her final episodes, IIRC.
  11. I had already zoned out of the show by the time Roger/Jenna began, but I would say by the time they met Roger, Mindy, who was mostly a spoilt schemer while in her teens, was very different from Jenna, a grown woman who was a cat burglar. I also thought Roger had more genuine feeling for Mindy than he did for Jenna, as by the time Jenna came along it was clear Roger could only ever love Holly.
  12. Frankie was created over two years before Luna. I do see the similarities but I think Malone based Luna more on his own Southern Gothic touch. @Neil Johnson @Xanthe @AbcNbc247 Thanks for answering my question. I guess we were meant to believe she got the powers through abuse and trauma...? If so it makes sense they faded out after she started a healing process. I can't remember what her last bout of visions were. Maybe Vicky's car accident.
  13. Did Lisa have her psychic visions from the start? One of the less talked about parts of AW that has always struck me as odd was that for most of their last 12 years on the air they had a psychic character. Lisa, then Frankie, then Remy. I wonder if this was a personal choice of someone backstage.
  14. @Vee I needed the laugh. My favorite part, aside from the death stares, is DeBose dramatically overpronouncing "Hong Chau" in a questionable manner in lieu of actually having anything to say about her.
  15. I saw this as a child and it horrified me. Very effective, but I never watched the show again for a long time.
  16. Yes, as soon as I saw those comments I decided to never go there again. In other news, here's a brief interview with Brynn Thayer (from 1988) about her short-lived show TV 101, which had quite a cast (even if they seem to think Stacey Dash is a very different person than she is or was). It's around 14 minutes in.
  17. A collection of so many Russia apologists and shills, some of whom, like Tara Reade, were paraded around by mainstream media figures.
  18. Thanks @Vee for all the great content.
  19. Thanks. I haven't watched a great deal of this period. Do you think they should have kept her on longer?
  20. Thanks for taking the time to check. Surprised that clip never went around any "before they were stars" pages.
  21. The AW thread is still locked, for [!@#$%^&*] all reason, so I can only ask here. I was watching an Ed O'Neill interview and he mentioned his time on AW. He also mentioned turning down the role of Steven Keaton, and he said that he recommended Michael Gross as they worked together on AW. I don't remember Gross ever being on there. Was he? I could look through AWHP but I have a headache and don't feel like trawling through the minor character list.
  22. I am kind of glad you're taking your time as I think that era is better for a viewer when they let it savor. Woods was probably just hit by so many of his co-stars leaving (and the bad choice to fire Marsha Clark). Have you seen the Roger death episodes? You probably have, but if not, I'd recommend the two I posted above.
  23. Any time you'd see Stella in anything, she had such presence. Even later in her career, when she was in dross like a Dukes of Hazzard reunion movie, still looking great (an uncle of mine said she looked better than Catherine Bach). She never really got the praise or career retrospective she deserved, but she's one of those people who made TV of her era stand out. And of course who can forget her in Poseidon Adventure?
