  1. I was curious about The Nanny because I thought one of the reasons they finally had Fran and Max get together (after stalling this for at least a year too long, if not longer) was down to ratings erosion. In some ways I felt like that final season was a parting gift and it had reached a natural conclusion at their wedding.
  2. Really sad to hear of Don's passing. He was such an integral part of early Knots, an immovable force - impossible to imagine the first few seasons without him, or later years with him. He was excellent as the good-hearted boss of "Being There" Dougie in Twin Peaks: The Return, as @Vee can attest to. It was a real treat seeing him in that part to wind down his career.
  3. That's it! Now she'll be back, probably played by California Doll from GLOW.
  4. This is more along the lines of traditional guest casting to help network synergy (I had forgotten that show was still on the air - I mostly remember Elizabeth Banks yelling all the time). The hostage situation photos aren't the greatest choice, but kudos to Frank for not deciding to cast her as Hannah whatever her last name was @carolineg may remember...)
  5. Thanks so much for these @Matt . I remember eagerly reading through some of these when I had them, typing out, etc. but it is nicer seeing the cast photo beside each entry.
  6. It's like if John Spencer (RIP) was cast as a superhero and had to go the Men's Health cover route. I adored John Spencer, but I wouldn't have cast him as Jagger either. It's not even just about ethnicity, it's that there is no reason to bring the character back. If they wanted to say [!@#$%^&*] you to Antonio, then just write him and tell him Justin Bieber was better at filling out Calvins than he was. Thanks. That was a laugh I needed today. I'm actually surprised they have never brought Celia back. Probably as a serial killer, played by Mackenzie Philips.
  7. He even reminds me a little of Howarth in the cap - that same mugging. I wonder if there were initially plans to cast Howarth in this role before ABC stepped in and canned him.
  8. Oh that person who raved about how brave Goutman was to not bring more actors back for the finale. I can't remember if there was also raving and gushing over the death of Reid too so that all the gay characters could end up alone and miserable. I think someone did, if they didn't. I don't understand why Jagger even needed to be recast - everyone he was close to on the canvas is long gone. And recasting him with the whitest man this side of Pat Boone makes it even more incomprehensible. If people want to praise a casting choice, this one feels like a form of masochism. And is it me or does he look like Billy Clyde Tuggle there? Will we learn Jagger was Billy Clyde's son? Somebody get Christine Baranski on the line...
  9. Wendy Williams seen for the first time in over a year as she sobs over private struggles & having ‘no money’ in new doc | The US Sun (the-sun.com) The trailer is kind of hard to watch, especially as I question whether she should be filmed the way she is here, but I know she has a lot of fans here.
  10. It feels like all hands are on deck to get Trump back in - the media as well as many on the left. The polls are hard to trust at this point, but so many of them being in Trump's favor (aside from Quinnipiac recently...not a great polling firm) makes me wary. I guess all we can do is try to get through each day. I'm just glad the media has much less influence than it once did.
  11. I think they're mentioning Neighbours because of Amazon.
  12. I do love the idea of Barnabas going to 79 AD and yet again introducing himself as a cousin. I'm just glad the thread wasn't updated to tell us someone else had died.
  13. It's not a bad idea, although it's nothing new. Over in the UK they had a soap parody that ran for years to tell washing detergent, featuring many former UK soap actors. Having one that is meant to be taken seriously is newer, although Soapnet did this briefly.
  14. No one will because the corporate media loves Republicans and hates America. I saw someone on Twitter posting several days in a row of NYT front pages that were all about immigration and Biden, with the usual negative framing. No one in the press cares about calling out the heartlessness of Abbott, DeSantis, etc. because these are their heroes.
  15. The various "first black character on daytime" label attached to many over the years.
  16. This is probably around the time Bo Hopkins was briefly back on Dynasty. For any Martin Kove fans as well.
  17. Entertainment sites, SNL, etc.
  18. I don't follow anything NFL either, but I still end up hearing and seeing too much about it. It seems silly to us, but many eat this up, especially due to his ties to Pfizer.
  19. It's a distraction and a way to keep the culture wars going. This is what they do best. And anyone who is tired of this very overexposed relationship may end up buying into that BS.
  20. They always do that for clicks. I've seen them call extras "stars." I don't remember him that well but I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
  21. That is gorgeous dialogue and even better work from Judith McConnell. In moments like that I truly believe she was one of daytime's best, even if SB was the only soap that truly seemed to see her. Maybe her GH work was also this strong - if any old school GH fans who saw more of her run could give their thoughts that would be great. With that said, I can understand why some fans felt this, and Eden's DID, was just digging up old ground rather than working with what the show was by the time the Dobsons returned. I do wish the Dobsons had worked something out with NBC to end the show together, rather than limping on to what it was in its last year.
  22. I didn't see that as the best of times as I felt that sites like DC and their agenda in favor of certain regimes held too much sway, but I do miss the We Love Soaps interviews (and if not for them a number of precious GL and ATWT episodes would still be in the vaults).
