  2. I thought Keating was a big ham, although he had his moments. I wonder if they asked Carmen Duncan if she would return as Iris. I thought AW had some closure in the last weeks - not a complete ending, but by the last episode, everyone was settled and happy, aside from Matthew.
  3. Brigitte was also on Celebrity Big Brother 5-6 years ago, briefly reuniting with former mother in law, Jackie Stallone. Do you have any favorites so far?
  4. She was with John for a while before RJ, I think. I never could see Todd/Tea (this Todd) as a real relationship. It seems like the show no longer does either.

  8. Near the end of this AMC there's a promo I'd never seen before - it has Carla and Ed. It's at about 50 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37vI7QqNwv8&feature=player_embedded
  9. Ruth Warrick SOD column which went along with the masquerade party. http://boards.soapop...942#entry910942 Earlier I said Nancy Frangione was playing Tara at this time. Actually it's Mary Lynn Blanks. I guess Nancy wasn't in the role very long at all, a year and some change - yet she was brought back for Kate's funeral. Odd.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-I6YMRymYc What a stupid storyline with Barbara holding Emily and Chris hostage.

  12. It's too bad they wasted Robert Gentry that way. I wonder if anyone at ABC saw his potential - how soon after this was he on AMC? Do you know when exactly Pat left? For a long, long time, I thought she was fired from OLTL because Rauch was on the way, but I guess that's one of those things which just sounds true, and actually isn't. Sorry to change gears, but here's another 1994 clip. Is it me or were they heavily pointing to a Who Killed RJ? story.
  13. Is she still alive? I thought she'd passed away. Do you know anything about whether that Jeff Pomerantz/Keith Charles character (my memory sucks), who had two teenage sons - were his sons played by Marla Adams' children? I read about this possibly happening in a TV Radio Mirror.

  15. True enough. I am going to post the rest of 1983 that I have (anyone who has any others please add them). I have a November 83 somewhere but can't find it at the moment. August 30 1983
  16. Well, The Sun gave it away. I'll put spoiler space so you can still be surprised.
  17. From a June 1993 Digest.
  18. I don't think they ruined the show intentionally, and they saved the show in many ways - I'm not sure it would have lasted another twenty years if they hadn't shown up. I think the problem is their most dangerous ideas are what was carried on, and their best ideas were jettisoned. I will never believe Todd - any Todd - should have been a leading man, or a long-term character, and that skew was essentially the death of Kevin and Joey and Cord and any leading man who wasn't a sociopath. The Victor molester storyline is the other story of theirs I feel led to disastrous decisions because of some weird need to one-up Malone's writing - I imagine, or hope anyway, that Malone never intended for his story to be regurgitated that way, and worst of all, for someone at OLTL to begin fetishizing sexual abuse. I always ask myself with these insta-relatives - did one good story come out of Todd, Rex, or David being glued to core families? For me, it never happened. I guess it's hypocritical, because I loved Megan as Viki's insta-daughter, but they at least had a lot of strong scenes for the few years they were together.
  19. I forgot about Edwina. You're right. They did seem to have quite a few characters who had few ties to core names. I know they made her Ivan's daughter, but that seemed to have zero purpose. That's what I like about OLTL, is that they often had characters who didn't have to be related to core characters, and who could stand on their own. It's one of the reasons why I didn't like the idea of "Fish/Kyle/etc. failed because they weren't CJ!" or the meaninglessness of having Rex and David as Buchanans. That just becomes bad fanfic. OLTL tended to change so much, and to be anything at any time. It had so much potential to revive. While I don't believe RC or FV could have ever made an OLTL I would feel connected to, I'm sorry it never had the chance to live on through PP.

  22. I thought it was Pierce Pierson. I might have confused him with an Archie Comic character. Paul Satterfield, so dull.
  23. Wonderful. Is that some local type of TV Guide?
  24. Great stuff. I never bought Taylor's family - it just seemed tacked on. By 1997 B&B was already on the way down. Some stories were OK, others were weak (Taylor and the bloody pillow; Rick shooting Grant because of "violent video games"). I'd totally forgotten Tristan Rogers was on the show at this time.
  25. He was repulsive in how he behaved towards her. This was when ABC had taken over and when Behr was out and we got things like the "hunkifying" of the show - with generally unappealing or boring (IMO) slabs of beef who dragged their stories down, if they even had a story (I think Daniel Cosgrove spent a year playing out two scenes - "can I get into your pants Laura" and "Laura you're so bitter, but I understand"). I think this streamlined AMC involved stories about women in peril, women paying a price, women emotional and out of control. Liza had to be significantly dumbed down to go along with that. I don't think she ever recovered.
