No. He was never mentioned as passing away. At the time some said this was a request from Zaslow's family, who wanted people to think David was living on, fighting.

They should have had Viki, Bo, etc. go look for Jenny in one last big adventure. That photo of Kevin's "eww" at Dorian/Mel always kind of gets to me - maybe because it makes me wonder if he thought she was taking a dump. Robin looked phenomenal though.

I am OK with recasts if they're the right actor and the writing works. I just wish we could see Christine. I've only seen her OLTL work as Pamela, which was very good, but Pamela was an underwritten character. I would like to see her as the show's main heroine (even if Viki was not quite in that role in the early 80's). I think this is the next one...not totally sure. If not it's close. Or maybe this is before the other one? I don't know. LOL. Sorry. I thought this was from 1-19-82

I know what you mean, although I prefer this to writing Viki out - how long was Erika gone anyway? I thought I read somewhere that Christine was around for six months, but most maternity leaves don't last that long.

Well, as much as I might complain, I have to admit I haven't seen a lot of the years of AW before DePriest, so I can't say it was better before she arrived. She also brought the ratings up a fair amount, from what I've read, and probably saved AW from the axe. To me Lau's Jamie was just not charismatic, and I did not see why two women would want him. I'm not sure Adam/Lisa would have been any better, as Adam was kind of dull and self-righteous. I would have paired Lisa with more of a jerk who would have pushed her buttons - sort of like Dean/Jenna.

I didn't realize Lauren Holly was on AMC for as long as she was (about three full years). I guess Dixie filled the void, but it seems like most of AMC's young heroines in the late 80's were all gone by 1990, just leaving Dixie and a few others who didn't seem very popular, like Lainie. I didn't know the show was still doing Brooke/Tom by late 1986. Tom's hair looks awful. Brooke seems to have inherited Devon's quasi-mullet, although she pulls it off. Erica's hair and dress at the Nina/Cliff 86 wedding are shockingly awful - she looks like a home ec tribute to the Statue of Liberty.

Yes, there was a real effort made, with these songs - they really helped add to the setting, especially the scene where he got her the emerald ring. The songs were a little overused, but still refreshing compared to the whole trend at that time of a supercouple needing their own theme. The way Palmer looks at Daisy is such pure love - I have not seen that on any soap in a long, long time.

The Luther stuff sounds like a strike story - out of nowhere (hadn't Luther been off the show for quite a while before this return?), gunfire, quick resolution. They did sort of have this again with Austin Buchanan in 1989.

You've posted so many beautiful and rare photos with OLTL and AMC - it's nice to see even at the end there are still some surprises out there.
