  1. He looks like him in that Final Kiss article. So the Boulters came in at the very end?
  2. Mostly I meant the polls, some state (I don't pay that much attention to tracking polls).
  3. I mostly go back to Politico out of habit, although some of their best people are gone now. They can be incisive at times. They are also the heart of the Beltway, which makes the whole moderate-Mitt fantasy more desperate. David Brooks, the Reasonable Republican, is the same way. There is zero reason to believe Mitt will be a moderate President. If he wants to win his 2016 primary, he can't be. He will have to be the most outspoken Scalia-like President ever, and even that may not be enough. The goodbye of the Beltway culture could only help politics and our national discourse. It's sad to see Nate Silver, who has done nothing other than talk numbers, attacked again, this time by the New York Times, huffing because he made a bet with Joe Scarborough, behaving like he owes them a big favor because he works at their paper. I don't think it's as close between Romney and Obama as the press is making out but I still think it's very tight. I just hope that people won't decide they need checks and balances and go in and vote Republican everything else. That will just mean 2-4-infinity more years of gridlock and ugliness.
  4. The media is still trying to tell us Mitt's a true moderate. That crush just will not go away. He's secretly our friend! He's so "sensible" and "pragmatic"! http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1112/83192.html?hp=t1

  6. Did any of you see Billy Magnusson's episodes of Boardwalk Empire? I ended up wondering if the casting person had this great desire to see that ass finally unclothed, because there were more extensive ass shots than I can remember on an HBO show in ages. Usually on that show the only way a man gets naked is if he's covered in blood or has horrible scars.

  8. Thanks for reading. (Did they ever let Doris stop wearing that bad wig?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dVbkc44bqg
  9. I'd forgotten some of these stories. Some I think to spare myself the pain of hack writing. Oh the irony of my actually starting to really like Nick about six months before he was fired. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lUTUs58Svw
  10. Um...wow. And this man will likely still win. http://www.politico.com/blogs/on-congress/2012/11/bro-house-candidate-bentivolio-mentally-unbalanced-147994.html?hp=l4 Chuck Hagel is endorsing Bob Kerrey. Not sure it will make any difference, although the pissy statement from Mike Johanns does the party no favors. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gpkr70FCZasQBGCx3nyi4yuFGgNA?docId=849a28708f1e4b3a90ea3cef012af0cd
  11. This is from an October 1972 TV World, or Ladies World, or something.
  12. From the side in that one article Caleb looks like Lenny Henry. The show seemed committed to a diverse canvas, at least. I'd never heard of this Denise. Did Sean and Tanya do artificial insemination?
  13. The infamous "heckuva job Brownie" has weighed in to blast Obama's handling of Sandy. (no comment on Libya, as far as I can tell) http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/264845-bushs-brownie-criticizes-obama-on-sandy Chris Christie is playing this very well. Not only does he get media coverage, which he loves, but he also gives Romney something of a black eye by going around with Obama. Either Christie is miffed over not being chosen as VP or he's hoping to clear a path for 2016.
  14. Another day, another odd, dismissive comment about rape and pregnancy by rape. And another new hero for the true believers. http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/10/john-koster-the-rape-thing.php?ref=fpnewsfeed
  15. I had to laugh at both ladies saying they didn't want their character with Marc. Way to inspire voting! Who did he choose? This story doesn't sound very interesting to me.
  16. I was reading a James Goodwin interview from when he was cast on AW, and he said when he tested as Johnny Bauer, he had a romantic scene with Judi Evans. Then she left. I wonder if they were planning to pair Beth/Johnny if she had stayed.
  17. James Goodwin tested for AMC's Craig Lawson and OLTL's Andrew Carpenter.
  18. Easy to understand - Lewinsky. Gennifer Flowers. I guess some complicated scandals can still inflict Presidential pain, but I think the era of Watergate is long over. If that happened today, I think it would get more of a shrug. Many are just burnt out and don't want to care. And with Libya, after ten years of Middle East misadventures, it's just a blur. There's a reason Rove had the big TV moments like Saddam's statue being pulled down the Mission Accomplished fiasco. He knew what got attention.
  19. The lighting was so dark you can barely see the faces sometimes.
  20. Unless you have a scandal that's easy to understand, people are less likely to follow. The main scandal people are interested in is sex. Even stuff like Abu Ghraib ultimately did not impact the elections that year.
  21. Oliver Stone is a has been director, not much else. If Hillary Clinton blasted Obama, that would be news. You were giving reasons why Romney isn't covering it. I don't believe Romney would leave that off the table, even if he thinks he's going to win. It's just a mess. It's not something which can be used as an easy attack. Everyone on the GOP side who has tried has tripped over their feet. The last time Romney tried, he fumbled and spent time crying about Candy Crowley.
  22. Does anyone care about Oliver Stone (if they ever did)? The Libya attacks are muddled, which is the likely reason Romney hasn't pursued this. Darrell Issa made it his big beroic quest and ended up answering questions about whether he leaked classified information. McCain decides to turn a relief event into a Libya rant, which is awful PR for Romney.
