Sherry played a great deal of vulnerability in Blake, especially at the end. She managed to show Blake genuinely falling for Ross, not just using him. I remember being blown away by her work at the time, which is why, when she was suddenly gone (I didn't follow soap magazines at the time), I was gutted. I liked the Frank/Blake friendship too. I remember when they had comfort sex in the diner, and for once, it was touching, instead of just flat and forced. I'm glad they got together at the end.

I meant those people specifically, not their states.

It is hilarious, and has been around a long time (the last time I think that was slung around was 2004), but she wasn't a politician, so it doesn't quite fit. But I'd rather see her on Politico than turkey neck Mitch doing those terrified owl stares.

We like Canadians now? I remember conservatives spewing nothing but bile about them for eons. Is this because of Stephen Harper? Or is it because America now has gay marriage (in some places) and the world's most liberal pot laws (in a few states) so we can't pretend we're different?

I thought most of Buffy was a mess after high school, with too much focus on "arc" storytelling even when Whedon was incapable of making those arcs work, and when most of the actors gave up (the actors having such screen presence was what made the show pop in the first place - after season 3, the only one who cared was Allyson Hanigan). Angel, it died for me once they didn't resolve the season 2 stories very well and when Fred the Mary Sue from hell came along. Supernatural feels empty to me but I put that on the questionable decision to kill off most of the supporting cast and rehash too many Sam/Dean stories. I think the pieces are still there. To me there's just so much you can do with Castiel if you have proper, structured writing. Misha Collins is a great actor, he has first rate chemistry with Jensen Ackles, he has great chemistry with Rachel Miner (Meg), he had a potentially interesting relationship with Sam, and there's so much about him we don't know. There's Jimmy Novak, which is more untapped stories. But his stories mostly became about screwing up and Dean having to fix it, what does he do for Dean's life, etc. I feel like the show has moved away from a lot of this (he hasn't been with anyone since a one night stand last season, I believe). They concentrate too much on "why did Dean let Sam down/will Sam accept Dean again" and all the usual, but I think Dean has interesting routes to go if they go further into the PTSD, and his relationships with Cas and Benny (although I assume Benny and/or Cas will just betray him and then we'll get more man pain).

That's fascinating. I'd never heard that. I guess the ratings steadily falling probably hurt the most.

I think I might have predicted that (I'm not sure). I knew she'd make it very close. There were never anything but bad comments said about Rick Berg, and I'm a little surprised the GOP chose him (he was the Congressional rep but that had only been for one term). She won even though Obama lost by 20 points. That's quite a feat. He was on the show from 90-92. I think he was written out somewhat abruptly, as he lost Sheila to Hank. Beyond his relationship with Sheila, he also had a story where he was in conflict with his younger brother, who had a hip-hop group.

It's just a joke based on an android in a movie (or whatever that thing was, I'm not into Terminator). I've never seen Vee wish anyone harm or wish them dead, he's one of the most reliable and reasonable posters here.

I forgot to say on Election Night that one of the few genuine Romney moments I can take away from this campaign was when he said aside from his wife Ann, Paul Ryan was the best choice he had ever made. It also sort of took me back to the way they came across at the start of the campaign. I couldn't help wondering if any of the Bryan Fischer hate group crowd inwardly cringed at the realization they voted for the gayest Presidential ticket ever.

This is the peril of the echo chamber. For some time now I've wondered if the far right truly believe what they are saying, or if in the caste system, the lower workers do and the upper echelons do not. Apparently they truly did believe it. I'm still a little amazed that even Karl Rove fell for it. Somewhere, Lee Atwater is chuckling.

They always claim that his true birth certificate is hidden somewhere and what we see is a forgery. Some also claim that his mother was a porn actress and his real father was a Communist. It's ugly trash.

The only reason I thought it might be real was down to his starting to backtrack toward the end, like he was worried about ramifications of all but saying he told people how to vote and then fired them.
