  1. Sorry to hear that. Didn't the guy who played her partner on the show die recently?
  2. Isn't it also because Lydia quit instead of being fired?
  3. The main problem with Brandi is that almost nothing she is involved in can ever be shown oncamera, other than her feud with Joyce, which I don't think anyone enjoyed. The surrogacy drama with Adrienne was almost entirely offcamera. The machinations regarding Lisa are almost entirely offcamera. So unless people want to hear about how black women can't swim, or how she lost her dog, there's limited material.
  4. If you go back to around summer or fall 2010 in this thread I posted some SFT stuff from the era she was on the show, including a lengthy anniversary article.
  5. It's as close as this season comes to a story. Even the Brandi/Yolanda/Lisa stuff hasn't been coherent enough for a story. Instead it's a big ball of, "Everyone is picking on Lisa." I did forget about the dog. I wish they'd shown more of the autograph show...have a cliffhanger where Erin Moran and the guy who played Carmine get in a hair pulling fight, or something.
  6. All the discussion of RHOBH sort of shows me why the ratings have fallen. There isn't much show to be found in "Who is mean to Lisa and why are they mean to Lisa?" with a dash of, "Is Lisa a schemer or is she innocent at heart?" The only other storyline the show has is Brandi as Marge Schotte with a mini-dress, and Carlton is very, very, very, very offended, and she needs to tell you why, and by the way, did you know she's Wiccan, but don't mention that, because she's offended. PS, if you don't mention it, she's offended by that too. And stop taunting her in her dreams. PS PS, she's sexy and hot, and she loves ladies. Wait, don't mention that either...
  7. Thanks for the extra info. That Travis/Donna scene sounds interesting.
  8. That's what I don't get about whoever in the representation of either woman approved that. They both seemed to be hated by most viewers and it did nothing for either of their careers.
  9. I never knew that. Thanks. I love Erica's line here. "This is not a democracy, mother." So Erica. Her look here is very severe but it works for her better than some of the softer look. Her face when Travis says he doesn't want children anytime soon...nice subtle work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkRWaa1Dy4E
  10. This episode has so many funny and moving scenes with Erica, Mark, and Mona. By the time I started watching AMC, in the mid-90s, even though she had Myrtle and sometimes Dimitri (or Jack), Erica often seemed so alone. Here, at least she had a family. Such beautiful work from the woman who played Elizabeth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRwzjIOAOHc
  11. Thanks for sharing this.
  12. More shock value on the way. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/eastenders/posts/Death-in-Walford-Lucy-Beales-dramatic-exit
  13. I liked Andrew in the material I'd seen. Nice to know what he's doing now.
  14. Didn't Joyce say in the interview that she agreed to pay for any photos she was shown?
  15. I'm in late October 1980. They are finally building to some things - Jerry's poor, stupid mother is about to get iced (I really like the actress - I had no idea she was just in her mid 30s...). I'm watching these with my mother, which is more fun, as we can MST3K it a little, but a lot of the characters she likes are about to die, and I have to end up telling her that... I don't know if the guy who played Jerry at this point quit or was fired, but he could have been a good junior younger leading man. I know he (Kevin Conroy) has gone on to a lot of prominent voice work. I like Deborah Hobart as Amy Holloway. To be honest she's the only one of the Holloways I like at all, which is a shame, as I think Judith McConnell is a superb actress. I enjoy her no-strings-but-there-are-strings-anyway relationship with Jerry, her friendship with Cecile, and her feud with Blaine. I wish they'd kept her around. Yes, she was. It's a shame they couldn't arrange it for her to pop in for Wallingford's funeral, or the 25th anniversary. I wish they'd kept Quinn. She could have stayed around for years and years. But I've gone over that before.
  16. Where is the lie?
  17. LuAnn's delivery of her tagline goes from tough and funny in the first season to hesitant and almost ashamed in the second season. Bizarre.
  18. RHONY Alex had such an awful tagline for most of her run. It's a shame she only got to change it at the end.
  19. I guess that explains why I rarely see them pre-early/mid 90s. It's a little weird watching the 80s episodes at times because some of the characters seem so isolated, especially Myrtle.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFglzWKjOTU Love Marian, and Phoebe/Marian is even better. She really goes for it with those personal attacks, delivered in such a grandoise manner. Priceless. I know Myrtle had to say these things to move the plot forward, but she comes across as nosy, judgmental, and, frankly, kind of dim and ignorant of life - she grew up in a rough situation and stayed there for most of her life. She's THAT shocked about a child born out of wedlock, and a love story that did not end in marriage? Really? This also makes the retcon of her being Rae's mother even dumber. They really softened her up when they had her take over more of the Mona role.
  21. I'm glad Iris isn't going to take this strongarming. I hope Matt and Donna might get to talk soon. Marley's line about the family and being locked up was a classic. Your Felicia dialogue is perfect. Glad that Charlie hears how much Cass just wants to protect her, and that this isn't all kinds of ugly, tense conflict.
  22. I didn't know she did either. Wow. They sure were trying her with anyone at that point. I guess Lauren Holly was gone for several months for Ford Fairlane, but I still didn't know she'd been there to the end of the year. Elizabeth Lawrence gives such a beautiful performance here, with her eyes alone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfLZb1FGAQY Times like this are when I really miss Ruth Warrick.
  23. Jack had represented Natalie in early 1988 when Palmer was trying to get revenge on her or win her back - maybe that was where they met. I didn't realize until the last few years that he'd dated Julie...I also didn't know she was on so far into 1989. Julie had such promise, when you think about her backstory and her ties, but she was so drab. It's a shame they never brought her back later, with a recast.
