  1. I'll always want Rick and Michonne to be a couple, but if that won't happen (and I doubt it ever will), I'm glad that we are seeing her own individual strength and how he supports that strength, instead of just needing her to be a sitter for his kids. I like seeing Michonne as a central force in the group, especially since she's been down so low and brought herself back thanks to bonds and friendships. I hope, even if Rick does get a love interest, they don't ignore or forget Michonne and her role in the group.
  2. I don't. It's just part of a collective irritation with the ignorance of many people and this show. I know not to expect much with fans, most of whom just watch to see Daryl push his hair out of his eyes, but I was reading the AV Club recap and the guy didn't even know Tara was gay. Someone who is paid to follow the show each week. It just makes me shake my head, because it's like people need Tara to scissor Rosita in order for them to remember she's a lesbian.
  3. There used to be a poster at Digital Spy, a big Sharon fan, who would talk about the damage John Yorke did to the show during his tenure, both as producer and in the overseeing job (whatever the title was) after moving on as showrunner/producer. Constant OTT plots during his run, and things like that. I do think the fourth episode is a big factor. I wish that during the show's prolonged ratings collapse they'd made the decision to prune an episode, and with it prune the cast. Now that the ratings have increased somewhat, they likely won't do it, but they had the excuse, and they don't rely on Eastenders the way that ITV is increasingly reliant on their soaps due to many of their other programs tanking in the ratings. I remember a story about June Brown threatening to quit if they went to 5 episodes, as they were supposedly thinking of doing 10-15 years ago.
  4. The annoying part is I keep seeing press about how Aaron and Eric are the show's first gay characters. And even fans who should know better don't - claiming Tara has never had a girlfriend and this is unfair (she did have a girlfriend), claiming Tara has "forgotten" she is gay so doesn't count, claiming that Tara is now in love with Glenn so is now straight. Anyway, I haven't been able to get into the show much the last few weeks. I'm not sure why, as it hasn't really done anything to alienate me. Maybe it's just fatigue, or the weather, or the fans...who knows.
  5. GH didn't really know what it wanted to be, which seemed to continue until about 1992.
  6. I wish I could say that was absurd.
  7. Thanks again. I'm surprised Ron has never brought Terry back. You'd think he'd be all over Laurelton, and she is a Spencer, sort of.
  8. Thanks. I really miss Sharon on GH. I hope she's doing OK.
  9. I think he's saying that pretending certain things don't exist and focusing on being ashamed of yourself and ashamed of your race doesn't really make a difference in ending racism, and it's best to just be the best that you can be, instead of focusing on not being some type of disgrace to black America. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2014/12/03/black-respectability-politics-are-increasingly-absent-from-obamas-rhetoric/
  10. I think you're right. It's an interesting idea though. I was just thinking about those scenes where Mike begs Donna to help him warn Nadine off and Donna just laughs at him - it's so far away from the Donna of the first season (or Moira Kelly's Donna), but it's one of the times that the changes they made in Donna in season 2 did feel natural to me. It's too bad about all the rest...
  11. He tried to commit suicide not long after he came out. There are all the self-worth and self-harm issues, blaming himself for failing anyone and everyone in his life, the issues over Chas leaving him as a young child, etc.
  12. I saw this on tumblr... http://herheartsapocalypse.tumblr.com/post/77630069743
  13. What a disastrous, giddy mess this song always is. I listen to it more than I probably should.

  15. I'm impressed you were able to follow those scenes. I was too focused on his ass in those trousers. I think Aaron is making the right decision, and Robert is too emotionally immature to see it. Unfortunately Aaron has a host of other problems that will not go away just because he isn't in Robert's pants. He's trying to be the good son for Chas and that does nothing to help his self-loathing issues. I wish he'd move out but I have no idea where he'd even go. I guess there's always the farm.
  16. Thanks. Of course today he would reveal he faked his death and Nick helped him cover it up, and he would rape Althea... Ugh.
  17. Is he still doing the M&M too? I tend to put him with Melissa Leo in my "I liked him before it was cool...decades before" files (although it's not really "cool" to like Melissa Leo, I just mean when she won an Oscar). And I think his work on Oz is some of the most underrated in my years of TV watching.
  18. Is that Dylan Cash in this ad from a few years ago? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syoJk0ts2m0
  19. A little old for the character. I wonder if she's going to be a mentor figure.
  20. Desperate Housewives ruined Marcia Cross for me. It's tough to watch her in anything now - season 2 of that show really is one of the most hideously written things I've ever seen on TV.
  21. Angela's last line there is so perfectly delivered.
