  1. I agree. I really have enjoyed this story from the beginning. I feel like it needed the time for us to care about Doug. They've done a nice job of explaining his motives and making me care for him. I still feel like he's doomed and Vanessa will end up being a widow and now I'm invested in that *not* happening now that I've fallen for him. Friday was good but so was the entire week. I think they're doing such a nice job of keeping things moving. We got good movement with Bill's story this week, Chelsea is attempting to date, Andre and Dani are having tough conversations about their relationship, of course Anita reunited with Sharon. There is *so* much going on and I didn't even cover all of it. I wish all of the soaps would take a page out of BTG book and start rotating their stories. I love that everybody is getting a chance to shine and they don't just sit on one lead story to the point you get sick of it.
  2. I feel like his return could've worked but they wasted him. I did enjoy Lucky and Liz back together but then they pivoted with the Kristina stuff which made no sense. Another big aspect to the character is how he disappears but they didn't develop his relationship with Aidan at all. Just feels like they could've brought him back for just a few weeks if they knew they had no real plans for him.
  3. I grew up in a neighborhood behind the gates and it really wasn't uncommon to have your house unlocked. In my neighborhood there was an armed gate before you enter the neighborhood and you have security patrolling 24/7. One thing that was common when I was in high school were for the kids whose parents were real estate agents to use their houses to throw house parties. It was easy because they were always unlocked.
  4. They are idiots! It seems crazy that Leslie is inserting herself so much into this investigation but everybody is falling into her traps. I find it to be an interesting back and forth and I'm still not completely sure who will win. I have a theory but I'm going to wait for more to develop before I say more. I feel like Haley has been more on the sidelines so I'm enjoying this new desperate streak she appears to be developing. I'm curious how it'll manifest overtime. I also agree with Dani that I am not convinced she's pregnant. I think she's trying to get pregnant but really just see's herself fading into the background and wants attention and validation from Dani and her family.
  5. Honestly, this shouldn't need Mona OR Shanice. You mean to tell me there aren't other cameras in the hospital that would've caught her in the parking lot or the nurses station? They would've been better off saying she flirted with security and deleted the footage because this doesn't add up in 2025.
  6. I feel like they've worked out the kinks with most of the wigs (notably: Anita, Kat & Chelsea) but they still haven't gotten it right with Naomi. They need to cut her a custom hairline to account for her widows peak. I also don't think you can do a side part without addressing that.
  7. Me too or Amazon Prime. Somewhere where you can just binge at your own pace. I hate that the series is incomplete but i'd love to pick up where I left off which was around the time Greta has gotten pregnant.
  8. I hope they're able to fix it. I understand Canada has a specific deal with Y&R but if they don't have that with BTG, they should fix it. It sucked having Anita's secret spoiled without any warning. I don't want the same for Martin's secret or other future twists.
  9. This is what kills me about the complaints that the show is moving too slow. I don't think any of the other soaps has revealed as much as BTG has in the same time frame. Not only are stories moving but it's rotating as well. Y&R has been teasing that Dumas character since February with no reveal in sight. B&B was one day for the majority of May with very limited storylines. GH had a strong final week of May but the storylines had been dragging for months prior to that. I appreciate that BTG doesn't focus so much on recapping and keeps the stories moving. I have anticipation about certain ones like Martin and Anita's secrets but I'm not worried about it because the writers have proven they will keep these stories moving at a strong pace.
  10. Today was good! Sharon I felt was appropriately bitter but I like that they didn't make her the bad guy. You can tell Anita feels bad about what she did and she's going to have to own that. I hope they continue to allow Sharon a perspective without villainizing her. One thing I found interesting is that she works in the church choir similar to Leslie...could that be her daughter? Another big positive for me were the scenes with Martin and both of his parents. Those are relationships they haven't developed as much as they should have and they're important. I feel like Martin is at his most likeable outside of his scenes with Smitty (likely due to his secret). I hope they continue to focus on these relationships prior to the reveal. The Leslie story continues to be a highlight as well. I love that you cannot make that woman sweat. I am so used to villains scrambling when they're about to get caught but she seems so confident that she won't be. I'm very curious how she's going to wiggle out of this one.
  11. I came here to see what everybody thought of today's episode and I realize it hasn't come on yet! And of course I have a meeting so I can't watch live! I'm so curious about those Anita/Sharon scenes.
  12. I haven't stopped watching but I've gotten to the point where I keep getting backed up and force myself to binge it. I'll admit they can throw out a good individual episode here and there but as a whole the show feels very disconnected and like they're throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks. For example, I loved Lauren's initial return and I also enjoyed Penny and Penny was dropped, Lauren is now hooked on drugs and miserable and for what? Plus you have Kathy randomly having an affair with Jean's boyfriend...what happened to Jean's money issues? Why did we pivot to this? There is no cohesion or unifying plot. I'm beyond ready to see what the new writers do with the show.
  13. I've enjoyed Vernon but I wouldn't be opposed to learning more about his life beyond his political work. What kind of family does he come from? Does he have any siblings? I feel like that could be an interesting thing to look at.
  14. I forget his name but Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth had the EP on after they didn't understand the 60s flashback episode due to the lack of original music. He felt that was one of his strongest episodes so he came on to explain to them just how much the music changes hurt the series. Basically, they only allowed him to pick a selection of episodes he felt the music was vital and other than that they didn't bother to save the music. They kept music for prom and things like the Color Me Badd episode and for most of the musical acts but any music you loved from the opening of the show or just music played in random scenes was cut. I know there are also some scenes cut but I don't know too much about that. The most glaring one was Clare's final scene being cut which is obviously a huge problem for a character who'd been around for so long. Overall I was able to enjoy my rewatch using the DVDs but without all of the original music it isn't nearly as good a show.
  15. I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.
  16. I like Joey and the idea of having a criminal element but I do agree they need to find a better setting for it. Maybe give Joey a more traditional location for his front business like a coffee shop or restaurant so you still have a place the cast can meet up. Daytime has been run by men for the past decade and it hasn't been good. I am more than open to women taking the lead.
  17. I'm not too worried about this. We all know MVJ is the main vision and the show has continued to improve over time so I don't see why that would change. She's also close with Guza in real life so I wouldn't believe it if anybody said there were any drama surrounding his exit. It's not surprising for a new show to have writing changes. We already know Gregori Martin will be out at some point and Jamey is joining. Now we know Tracy Thomson is joining. I don't know anything about her but I'm going to hope for the best. I wasn't aware of this rumor but I will say I loved JFP's last stint on the show. I think she did a good job of stabilizing things and I loved that she brought Jill back. Of course a big problem was that Chancellor mansion re-design but overall I think her Y&R was safe and watchable. They're in dire need of a major change so I wouldn't be mad at it.
  18. What we're watching now was filmed in the early week after the premiere but I wouldn't imagine we'll see any changes based on audience feedback until August/September because of how far they ahead film/write.
  19. They need to really lean into this back to basics model. In addition to another soap, if I were them I'd be looking at what HBO Max did with The Pitt and trying to launch more affordable network-style shows with longer runs. That could be the one piece that could cement them as a viable platform.
  20. You're not wrong when you consider none of the streamers are profitable but Peacock has been reducing it's debt each year and seems to be more on track than the other streamers are. They have to find a way to cut costs to be sustainable. You can't just keep churning out these short lived expensive shows hoping for a miracle. I think the key is affordable programming and also ad supported tiers for additional revenue. HBO Max recently had a big success story with The Pitt which was a modestly budgeted 15 episode series. That needs to be the model. They should be striving for shows with more episodes that can be made for less.
  21. It's not network tv. A 10 episode show getting 1.4 billion views in 3 months is not the same as a year-round financial investment which is what they get out of a show like Days. The goal is to maintain a subscription overtime.
  22. The problem is that the 10 episode series is likely going to cost $50-100 million (more in some cases) and those people will cancel their subscription when the series ends. That creates an unwinnable situation where you constantly have to spend those large amounts to churn out constant hits to sustain subscriptions. That's why all of these streaming services are in so much debt. Around the time Peacock picked up Days they did mention that their goal was to start trying to drive long term subscriptions. In addition to Days they've really leaned into sports and live programming which can help drive year round traffic.
  23. Today's episode was really good. I love the way they've transformed Xander into a true villain. I never cared for him but the actor is doing a great job with this material. I also feel like Linsey Godfrey is killing it as Sarah opposite him. I hope they continue in this direction. I also am one of the few who loves John Paul Lavoisier as Phillip and I hope they keep him around in a regular capacity. The John stuff was very sad to watch. On one hand you think it's typical Days but knowing that Drake is gone and seeing the actors pain felt so real. I'm glad they're doing him justice. The flashbacks were perfectly placed and each character was given a moment to reflect on their relationship with John. I can't wait to see how this develops.
  24. This is a name I forgot but you may have hit the jackpot with this suggestion. She would be fantastic! And visually I think she'd fit right in. Brandon is very clearly gay. The joke is that Facebook viewers are so out of touch they don't know these things. All it takes is one look at his instagram and you can see whats up.
  25. I don't think it's about comparing it to tv but within streaming thats a good number of people subscribing to your service, paying a monthly fee and many with commercials which is even more revenue. In the streaming world Days is good value for it's cost. When you consider it's budget and the fact that it drives year round subscriptions, it's a big value to a platform like Peacock which is trying to become profitable and is specifically looking for programming that can drive those year round subscriptions.
