Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I still think Dallas’ ratings suck because it’s bland and overrated. With that said, ratings are down everywhere for live viewing. I’d be interested in seeing all of the housewives ratings with DVR included.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
RHOA was another fun episode! We finally got to meet Tanya and like id said before, I needed to see her before forming an opinion. Based on her picture I had no idea what she’d be like. She ended up being fun and had a youthful quality I liked. I look forward to seeing more of her. I have more interest in her than Shamari who is *so* Dollar Tree. When they talked about fashion you could tell she was praying nobody looked at her and her wig. I was happy to see the ladies catching on to Eva. I’m sure by the time the reunion rolls around they’re gonna light her up. Even with the Cynthia thing I notice Eva wasn’t denying it just deflecting. I wish Kandi had mentioned her saying Shamea was too black. So far they’re still learning their groove with the new girls mixed in, but I’m having fun still. Very light hearted fun with light shade. RHOC: What an extra reunion. Kelly and her side comments cracked me up. I agree those newbies were useless and I agree that Vicki was disgraceful tonight. It’s so obvious she created the problem with Kelly by not caring about her feelings. Even when she eventually apologized you could tell it was to shut her up. The cocaine comment with no evidence “because she called me fat” was shameful.

If anything, I could see them putting her on Orange County, but Beverly Hills no lol.

I disagree! Lydia was fabulous both seasons and I stand by that. I’d love Lizzie back (she never should’ve left), but Gretchen is too phony. She blew it when she returned last time. In terms of past housewives I would’ve be opposed to seeing Alexis or Heather as well. OC is lucky to have a huge pool to pull from. I’d still keep Emily though. Btw, Kelly on Instagram confirming she WILL NOT be back unless Vicki leaves. So enjoy this reunion because you know Bravo won’t pick her over Vicki. Considering she brought a youthfulness and fun spark to the show, casting will be even more difficult next season. RHOA: Ima sit on this train alone and that’s fine, but this is the best season they’ve had in YEARS! It’s quiet, fun and has the heavy emotional punch with Greg’s illness. There are new tensions simmering that will explode over the course of the season. I don’t have one complaint. This is the type of soft reboot they’ve needed for years. Shamari - I’m starting with her since she was introduced and got a heavy focus tonight. My first impression was: Being Bobby Brown. That’s what her and her tired can’t sinng husband give me. They are a hot mess, extra and delusional and therefore perfect for this show. I think she was a perfect choice and will fit right in. I instantly hate her husband for what he did to my ears and throwing shade at Kandi. Ummm Kandi has helped your wife and she put you on HER tour and you gonna try to read? Great Value Peter, sit down. Kandi and Porsha - I loooove Porsha this season which is crazy because I hated her before. Kandi is just kinda there but I love her too. I don’t look forward to them fighting over Porsha’s new man though. This is hypocritical coming from Kandi after what’s happened to her with Todd and AJ on this very show. Cynthia and Eva - Eva got her peach and is letting loose. I’m glad Marlo is going to let her have it next week. Eva is coming off like a hater, not just someone throwing reads out. Cynthia ain’t bothered her or said nothing about her, so why the fcuk u keep mentioning her? As the ladies learn of what she’s saying I want them to dig in her ass! Nene - My queen that I support no matter what is breaking my heart. We’ve known Nene and Greg for so many years that we KNOW them. She is the Susan Lucci of Housewives and no matter what she’s down that I don’t agree with at times, I always loved Greg. This is heartbreaking to watch, but important. We know Nene is a private person, but this is her job and I applaud her for giving us real life. The discussion of chemo was heartbreaking and the follow up with Cynthia made me feel even worse. I feel like it’ll be a mistake not to go that extra step, but we just gotta be hopeful. I’m so excited for things to kick off next week with Cynthia’s potluck!

Okay OC May make up for this dull season with that reunion. Ima say keep Emily and ditch Gina and bring back my girl Lydia and u set. I know y’all gonna think I’m crazy saying to bring Lydia back again, but i always felt she brought a richness to the show and while she was nice, she can be messy and strong willed. We need her to complete the Tamra takedown. Promoting this season that hypocrite said Lydia’s husband was gay. Throw that in with Emily and Shannon’s problems and Tamra will get her ass handed to her.

I think it’s too soon to say that about RHOA. I feel like the others, especially RHOC are given more of a chance to find their groove with reboots. They were overdue for a change up and I think so far this one is fine. I’ve only seen episode one, but the ladies each seem to have their own stories/families to film with. We still need to meet Tanya and Shamari and see how they interact together before we really know anything. I’d say by episode 5-6 we should have a better feel. I do wish Kenya had stayed though. Her storyline was set but at the same time I see why Bravo didn’t keep her. With a high risk pregnancy she would’ve been severely limited with what she could deliver. I think she’ll be back next year with the type of salary she wants. Sheree on the other hand needed to go. She had no story last season (prison calls don’t count) and joining Kim on that foolish Nene-takedown made her unrootable. It was just so one sided.

Sad news! Camille’s Malibu house just burned down which might explain why she didn’t go on the cast trip to Paris. Eileen Davidson’s home was thought to be lost, but she just got word only her yard was damaged. Off topic, but Tracey Bergman from Y&R also lost her home.

I keep hearing filming has been extended and other than the LVP drama nothing is happening. I think the smartest thing she could’ve done was not film with them. They’re scrambling to come up with something since she won’t allow herself to be their story.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I’d love it bc I’m not sold on Barbara, but I don’t believe Jill will be more than a guest. ETA thoughts on the others: RHOC - I’m still bored. This was by no means a bad season but it lacked momentum and chemistry with the cast. I watch and enjoy but I’m ready for it to be over and to see what they do next season. Exit rumor: RHOJ - Ever since the season six reboot I’ve been back in love here. I think the Manzo’s needed to go to reset the storylines and it’s mostly worked. Last season was good but my biggest complaint was them throwing out months of filming and using it only in flashbacks. I gave them a pass because it gave us 13 tight episodes and with Teresa grieving her mother it made sense to skip a lot of that as it would’ve been very dark. Now fast forward to this premiere and they’ve done it again except it is obviously to limit Danielle’s screentime. Starting with season six they keep doing this weird thing of changing their minds while filming and cutting lots of stuff. I don’t get that. OC may not always be successful in its delivery but at least they stick to what was planned. It’s odd that everybody is talking about Danielle and she’s featured in all the flashbacks yet she doesn’t have her own POV. They should’ve treated her as a full time housewife since it’s obvious she was filmed that way. Beyond that I enjoyed it. I always found the truce between Melissa and Teresa to be forced so I’m looking forward to that being derailed. I enjoyed Dolores so much more without Siggy! The stuff with Frank surprised me as I’d completely forgotten the reunion. Margaret was fun as always. Andy compared her to Dorinda and I agree. She came late but just fits. My verdict off one episode is that NJ will have a good season!

Where did they find Anna Stuart and how could they let her go?! This goes for the other soaps she appeared on as well. My goodness, she’s only been on a few months where I’m at but she is truly flawless. It’s rare you see a young actor so gifted who hits the ground running with no grace period. She is stunningly beautiful and has imbued Toni with so many layers in such a short period of time. You can say what you want about the writing here and there, but this cast is amazing and full of unsung Daytime should-be legends.

I think the RHOA ratings are find. I found it a very strong premiere and they know it’s a transitional season which is probably why promotion wasn’t heavy. It’ll build as the season and drama starts. Kandi said there is tons of stuff that was left out of the trailer. We know Tanya, Marlo and Shamari are central to lots of the drama but we have hardly seen anything from them. Im going to say so far so good for ATL.

I think this will be a fun but more lighthearted season. I thought it was a solid premiere and next week looks really good! I like the ATL girls when they're more on the fun side with light shade. I'm going to wait until Shamari and later Tanya joined to truly make a decision. I'll give them 5-6 episodes before I decide.

The Politics Thread
If true, why is CNN so far in last place? Rachel Maddow has one of the highest rated cable news programs and starts with a twenty minute monologue without commercials which usually recounts a historical story that ties into the present. She has no Republican or Democrat commentators either, only experts to the subject at hand. She doesn’t cover tweets or rallies. If she can do so well without that then anyone can. CNN has so much good talent but watching their shows is damn near impossible because it’s the same each hour with Democrat and Republican commentators screaming at each other. I found it fun at a time but it’s so tiresome. I also don’t understand constantly having certain Republican commentators on when they lie repeatedly. The media in general is afraid of seeming liberal so they do this to look balanced, but CNN just looks weak and foolish. Still airing his rallies in this day and age makes them no better than FOX.

Love the season one talk! I thought it was such an exciting debut season at the time. I also loved Kari and was disappointed when she left. I think she fit right in despite not being black in a mainly black cast show.

The Doctors Discussion Thread
I’m in August 1971 and by this point I have a good enough feel for the Pollocks to form an opinion. They’re not bad, but the show is very plot driven and can be slow until they reach the next big point in the story. I find a more character driven show moves faster because you become more invested in the characters. My dear Karen is back in full swing, but the writing for her isn’t as complex as before. I still remember that Steve wasn’t Introduced as the upstanding man he is now. Granted she was wrong to try to steal Matt, but Steve had no right to rape her and force her into that marriage. She has good reason to keep Steve away from Enrich but it isn’t verbalized. Everybody simply views Karen as a problem, which I’m sure will only increase once it’s her turn to be the main villain. The Dan Allison story is wrapping up as well. He’s hit Carolee and now is in the hospital after a heart attack. The shift in writing for Dan was so jarring that it took some getting used to, but now that I have it’s fine. I’m just glad this will be ending hopefully soon. One thing I recall y’all saying is how out of character it is for Mike to become a police officer later in the series. Based on what I’m watching now I wish they’d done that sooner. He doesn’t have the maturity of temperament to be a doctor based on what we’re seeing right now. He’s just taken a drug from the lab and almost jumped off the roof after hallucinating on it. Now that he’s better everybody seems to have moved on so quickly. I wish they had moved Mike in a different direction here. I do love him with Toni so I’m hoping his crazy days are behind him. Im curious where the show will go once the Dan story is wrapped up. Maggie is only a talk to and Althea and John are pretty much on the back burner post marriage. I enjoy Kathy but I do wish Nick had a more age appropriate love interest, Karen perhaps.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I’m thankful for two things: 1. Katie being on the cast trip for Potomac. I’m hoping that means she’ll have a good presence on the new season. If so this can be a really strong season. 2. I’m thankful Tamra is finally feeling some heat next week! It feels like everybody has been going easy on her the past couple years. She used to always get called out for her shyt stiring, but now she gets a total pass. I hope Shannon annihilates her once she finds out.

Basketball Wives on VH1
Ironic this is happening after what I felt was a solid season which finally cast some newbies that worked. Link: https://deadline.com/2018/10/vh1-basketball-wives-love-and-hip-hop-1202487711/ Basically, Shed Media is out and they’re meeting with new producers to take the show in a new direction in hopes it refreshes the format enough to lead to more spin offs.

I get what they mean about Shannon, but I feel like Tamra is very strategic with the cameras and plotted this. I think Shannon was fine on the trip and Tamra kept prodding her into a meltdown. The new girls resent that she doesn’t like them, but she doesn’t have to like them. The pile up felt like typical Tamra. She was leading Shannon to believe things were fine, but going behind her back still talking about the Eddie thing. She riled those new housewives up and got what she wanted. The bad thing is Shannon will forgive her and fall for it.

I don’t know why I thought I wouldn’t like Nancy Barrett as Cathy, but she’s doing just fine. I kept pictures immature Carolyn, obviously forgetting how many different roles she played on Dark Shadows and she’s nothing like Carolyn here. It’s still a shame this role was recast twice. The original actress was really good! I hope the third one is as well.

I’m hopeful if RetroTV makes it to the end they’ll go back and show us what older episodes they have. I believe it’s a near complete run so potentially only the first year is missing.

@vetsoapfan I’m pretty sure that’s the earliest you will find. I remember before The Doctors joined RetroTV, there were no episodes from the 60s I’d ever seen.

I’ve made it to May 1971 and I’m growing tired of Dan who was instantly turned into a cartoon when The Pollocks too over. I do like the strength it’s brought out of Carolee, but he can be tiresome. Just when i thought it would be a strucgle to continue watching with that story getting so much screentime, MY HOMEGIRL KAREN HAS ARRIVED! Her wig looks like it’s been in a fight but she’s upset about her baby so I understand! I’m so happy to finally see Karen again!
