    THE WORLD OF OAKDALE
    TWOO Opening

Maddie is excited that Gwen is pregnant, but wonders how. Gwen talks of the treatment she has been doing since her fall. Maddie is ecstatic and later joins Luke at Java to tell him the good news. Luke gets upset when Maddie reminds him of his recent stunts and takes off. Later, Emma gets a visit from Emma. Lisa listens as Emma gives Luke advice, saying that when Luke is able to forgive himself, then others will be able to forgive him as well.

Lisa excuses herself and goes to find Roxie. She's surprised to find Roxie at the suite. Roxie tells Lisa that she hopes to see her at the party tomorrow night. Lisa tells her she'll be there with bells on and Grant following right behind her, she's sure. Roxie leaves. Soon after, Lisa gets a call from Dana reminding her what time to be there.

As we see Dana get off the phone with Lisa, we see Milly in th background. Dana says she didn't expect Milly to be up and about so soon. She really made a show the other day. Milly fires back for Dana to mind her own business. She claims that with a child like her and an ex-husband like Grant, she'd like to meet a woman in this world that wouldn't lose her mind. As Dana exits the room to get ready for the party, Milly grabs her purse. After reading a label that says "Take one twice daily", she take three. As she puts the pills back in her purse, she softly runs her hands over a gun.

Chris notices the akwardness in the house and addresses it. Kim emotionally tells Chris that they're just tired from the wedding. And now, they have a birthday party for Grant to go to. Bob comes down and tells Chris that if he ever needs anything, to just let him know. They can all handle it together. Chris can't handle the tension in the air anymore and bolts. Later, he meets up with Roxie. Roxie asks what Chris wanted when he called her and he tells her that he wants what every man in America wants. Great sex. Roxie asks Chris if he really has feelings for her or if he's just anxious to get laid. Chris replies the latter. Roxie slaps him a good one and vows never to see him again. Later, though, Roxie fantasizes about Chris following her into Al's Diner and angrily throwing her up against the counter and passionately ripping off all her clothes. As they clear off the ice cream bar for a place to have wild, raunchy sex...Roxie is jolted out of her fantasy by her cell ringing. Lisa tells her that her assistant dropped out of the party at the last minute and she needs Roxie to fill in. Roxie agrees.

Holden finally tracks Craig down at the Worldwide offices. Holden furiously shouts that Craig has no ethics and if anyone should be half owner of the company, it's Lily. Holden accuses Craig of taking advantage of Lily. Craig denies no such thing and taunts Holden about being half owner of the company. He asks if Holden likes his job and tells him that if he keeps acting this way, he'll find himself back at the old raggly Snyder barn milking a goat. Holden lunges for Craig and Craig punches him. Holden knocks Craig to the ground and severely lays it down on him. Later, Lily is horrified when Holden returns all bloody and promises that Craig won't be half owner of Worldwide much longer. As Holden goes upstairs, Craig comes in and tells Lily that Holden attacked him. Lily tells Craig that no matter what he says, she's sticking by her husband. Craig taunts her saying that she wasn't that "behind her husband" when she kissed Mike. Lily stands horrified that Craig knows. She also wonders how he knows, but her wonder is cut short with rage. Angrily, she yells for Craig to get out!

Lily thanks Rohan for the ice and for all of his help and smiles that her ankle's feeling much better. Rohan asks what brings Lily to Barbados, assuming she's on vacation. Lily explains she's there to search for her family. She explains how Craig vanished off the coast of Barbados months ago, but no one has seemed to find anything to prove that Craig survived. Rohan's mother quickly brings out a gold Rolex and gives it to Lily. She says that she found it out in the water by the beach a few months ago. Lily thinks she recognizes the watch, as she holds it close and gains hope.

The local stares in fright at Holden, who yells again, asking where his wife is. The local, Andrew, says that Lily came to the island a week ago pestering locals about finding some man whose plane had gone missing. Andrew says that several people asked her to leave, that they didn't know anything, but she kept pushing and agitating Barbadian officials. Holden asks Andrew if he's seen Lily recently, to which a woman nearby says she saw Lily just a little while ago with Rohan. Andrew offers to take Holden to Rohan's, and Holden agrees.

Tom and Margo's quiet evening is interrupted when Katie comes in, asking for Margo's help. Katie tells Margo that Brad resigned from WOAK today, and it's all because Katie said "no" to a relationship. Margo thinks Katie's being a little conceited, but Katie assures her that even Kim said that Brad's resignation had something to do with Katie. Margo reluctantly agrees to speak with Brad, upon Katie's heartfelt plea. Katie thanks her sister and Katie brings up Michael. Not wanting to tell Katie about Lyla refusing to receive treatment from Michael, Margo skirts around the issue. However, Katie catches on from Tom's facial expressions and realizes there's something Margo's not telling her. Margo finally confesses all to Katie, who makes a straight line towards Lyla's.

At Lyla's, Katie barges in and asks Lyla why she's refusing to get treatment again for the millionth time. Lyla tells Katie to calm down and says that Lyla's decision is justified. Katie asks why Lyla's refusing help from Casey's brother, angering Lyla by bringing up Katie's late father's name. Lyla retorts that this is all none of Katie's concern and closes the conversation. Lyla says that she'll be moving to Texas to receive treatment at M.D. Anderson, to which Katie furiously objects. Later, Katie makes a call to her Uncle Michael and asks for help.

Susan comes into work and sees that she has a voice mail from Kim, wanting to meet her for a talk. Susan rolls her eyes as Bob walks in and asks what's gotten her upset. Susan plays it off and says it's nothing, excusing herself for a meeting with a patient. Later, Susan appears in the hospital cafeteria, just as Kim requested, and finds Kim waiting at a table for her. Kim tells Susan that although Susan might be working with Bob now, that doesn't mean Susan can move in and make her play for him. Susan scoffs at the accusation and tells Kim to go to hell before barging out. Bob passes Susan on the way out and hurries over to the table where Kim's seated. Furious, he asks Kim what she's done to upset Susan this time.

Toting carry out boxes from Mabel's, Carrie takes one to Carly and another to her desk. Carly notices Carrie finishing off her meal and asks Carrie if everything's alright. Later, Carly hears Carrie throwing up in the bathroom and wrongfully assumes she's bulimic. Later, Jack arrives home and finds that Carly never picked Parker up from therapy and he had to catch a bus home. As soon as Carly comes home from work, Jack blasts her and assumes she was with Wagner. Carly says that Wagner is in Miami for business; and reminds Jack that she left him a reminder on the answering machine at Emma's that she had to work late and needed him to pick up Parker. Carly calls Jack out and asks if he's upset about Parker or more upset about Wagner. Jack shies away from the question, but Carly soon puts him in his place, reminding him that he told her a long time ago to move on. And that's just what she's doing.

Noah and Luke flirt in front of Fashions in Oldtown. Lisa chuckles as she closes up and asks Luke if there's been any word on his mother yet. Luke says that Holden just left yesterday to go find her and assumes they'll be home in no time. After Lisa leaves, Luke remembers leaving his wallet on a bench and runs back to retrieve it while Noah waits in the car. As Luke picks it up, he sees Carrie headed for him. "You're Noah's friend, right?" she asks. "Hi, I'm Carrie," she says, stretching out her hand for a handshake. Luke smiles and shakes her hand, introducing himself. Searching for answers, he cites how Carrie sure has been coming around looking for Noah alot and asks what's going on. Before Carrie can answer, Noah comes up. Noah cuts off Carrie and tells Luke that they better get going. Once in the car, Luke demands to know what's going on between him and Carrie. Noah assures Luke that nothing is going on, almost hoping to convince himself of the same thing, wishing Carrie weren't truly pregnant with his child.

Carrie's cut short from telling Will her plan when a call comes in from Noah, asking to see her immediately. After meeting her at Java, Noah blindfolds her, promising the surprise of a lifetime. As they drive up the driveway to the new house, Carrie unmasks herself and stands doe eyed in front of the door. Noah smiles that he bought the house, intending that she might room with him once she moves out of Barbara's. Carrie breathlessly asks where Noah got the money to afford such a place. Shrugging, Noah mumbles that he had some money saved up. Carrie gulps and promises to get back to him with an answer. Later, Barbara pressures Noah to do whatever it takes to get Carrie to move in with him. With the new house, he can keep Carrie pre-occupied and away from Will. Noah protests that what they're doing is wrong. She should learn from the mistake she made by bringing Darryl back to town; Carrie doesn't want Barbara interfering in her life. Leave the philosophy to her, Barbara snaps. All Noah has to do is get Carrie to move in and keep her away from Will.

Alison and Dusty both sit at Al's, waiting and hoping that their respective others come through the door any minute. Alison resentfully mumbles that this is all Dusty's fault. He apologizes profusely; he never meant for any of this to happen. It was just a drunken mistake that got out of hand. Their showdown is short-lived as Emily and Aaron come traipsing through the door. Aaron drags Emily to the table and mumbles that he doesn't want to be here either, but Alison and Dusty have a right to plead their case. Judging by the awkward silence, Alison can tell this is going to be a long shot where Emily is concerned. Desperately urging Emily to hear her out, Emily snatches her hand away. Dusty starts off, recalling how upset he was at learning that Emily had known all along about Lucinda and Clark, despite Lucinda's urgings that she didn't. To add to it, she published a story that he never intended for her to know and caued Lucinda and her family immeasureable anguish. So...he got drunk and lost judgement. He never meant to hurt anyone; it was just a kiss...and Alison stopped it. Emily isn't so moved by the explanation, but Aaron starts to see that Alison wasn't in the wrong.

Brad runs to Java for coffee and a muffin, and spots Mac sitting at a table reading a paper. Throwing his leg over the empty chair, Brad sits down uninvited, and proceeds to grill Mac about his life. Amused, Mac admits surprise that Brad wants to get to know him---he didn't seem like the friendly sort of guy. Brad tells him he's not...he doesn't like Mac spending time around his brother's family. "The family", or just Carly, Mac asks. Brad insinuates that he and Carly are more than friends, and that Mac shouldn't confuse Carly's empathy for the "new guy in town" with anything more personal. Mac laughs that Carly doesn't seem like the kind of woman needs help letting anyone know exactly what she feels.

Leaving Dusty and Emily to talk inside, Aaron apologizes to Alison for doubting her. On the other hand, he doesn't think he can ever trust Dusty again and heads inside to announce his and Alison's resignations from Donovan's. Back outside, the two seal their reconciliation with a kiss and head home. Inside, Emily grumbles that she never wants to see Dusty again and gives back the engagement ring. Later, Emily returns home and fills Susan in about what happened at Al's. Smiling, Susan recalls a time when Dusty couldn't trust Emily; she had him chained to a wall with a pistol pointed in his face. But in time, he forgave her and even fell in love with her. Fidgeting in her seat, Susan lectures Emily that she thinks that if Dusty had meant to be with Alison, he would have slept with her that night. Instead, he didn't. He knew what he did was deathly wrong and he apologized. Now, the cards are in Emily's hands.

Carly takes the afternoon off of work, walking into Milltown just as her answering machine picks up a call. Breathlessly, she picks up to find Jack on the other end. He jokes that he must really be having trouble with the time zones if she's home. Carly admits to blowing off work, and tells him the kids miss him. He tells her he misses them too. After an awkward silence, he tells her he'll have trouble keeping in touch--his client's decided to go to a ritzy retreat---absolutely no outside contact allowed. Carly promises to explain it to the kids--and jokingly reminds him to apply lots of sunscreen. Jack promises he will, and asks her to give everyone his love. Before Carly can assure him she will, the dial tone buzzes in her ear. As Jack closes his cell phone, he turns up his collar and steps onto a snow-covered street before disappearing into a crowd of people.

Kim assures Margo that she has nothing to worry about. Bob remains conflicted about whether or not to tell Kim now.

Katie and Mike arrive at the cottage and akwardly bump into Henry as he's moving some things out. Katie begs Henry to hear her out. She apolgizes for using him in the past and feels lousy for making him marry her just to get back at Mike. She does tell him, however, that even though their marriage was a scam, her feelings for him weren't. Mike also has a brief heart to heart with his best friend. Henry accepts their apology but tells them both that these past few months, past few years have left him emoitonally and pysically drained. He announces to a shocked Katie and Mike that they needn't call him or try to find him. He just needs to get away for a few weeks and clear his head. Later, Henry arrives to tell Maddie goodbye but can't find her anywhere. Henry breaks down as he writes a goodbye letter to his little sister.

Luke sits in his room playing Wii when Holden knocks on the door. Luke turns the game off and pretends to be doing something productive, like Algebra homework. Holden says they need to talk. Luke tells Holden that he has nothing more to say. Lily knocks as well and Luke smarts off that they must be here to gang up on him again. Maybe this time, they even brought along the men in white coats to carry him off. Holden finally has it and tells Luke that his arrogant behavior has got to stop. They never tried to get him committed or anything of the sort. Lily expresses her concern for Luke's well being and Luke says the best thing they can do is leave him alone. Later, Maddie stops by to talk to Luke. Luke refuses to see Maddie and Maddie expresses her concern to Holden and Lily that Luke might be upset over the fact that she's leaving for college in the fall. Holden and Lily both glance at each other, knowing that this must be the reason.

Both are pleased when Adam (Craig Lawlor) and Abigail (Kristina Sico) walk in. Adam falls apart in Margo's arms and Jennifer, seeing all of this, tells Adam that Hal was so proud of him and loved him with all he was. Nikki explains to Barbara that she left town to work on a top secret case in D.C. and was just about to return home. As "The Dance" (by Garth Brooks) starts playing, the camera pans above everyone in the church...goes outside the church...pans up to the sky where a white dove flies across. Hundreds of flashbacks start playing recognizing Hal Munson and the actor who portrayed him for over 20 years, Benjamin Henrickson. As the song ends, so do the flashbacks. End on a picture of Benjamin Henrickson which bears the phrase..."Tender yet tough. Hal Munson. Benjamin Hendrickson. Father. Son. Brother. Uncle. Colleague. Friend. You will be truly missed. Rest in peace." The screen fades to black.

James returns to Oakdale and lets his presence be known at the grand opening. Barbara realizes that James came to town on her behalf. James and Paul have an altercation, but Rosanna breaks them up. James is glad to see that his son has finally snubbed his enemy Craig and nabbed the lady for himself. Paul retorts that Craig died in a plane crash and James smirks. James also issues his sympathy to Barbara about Hal and Jennifer, but tells her that with Hal out of the way, they can be together now. Barbara slaps James and starts screaming. Kim takes her home while Jack makes arrangements for security to be posted outside Barbara's room. Meanwhile, Carrie makes eye contact with James as he mouths the words "Thank you". Eventually, James leaves, promising to stay in town and comfort his love, Barbara. Lucinda storms up to him and demands an explanation. Sherry explains that she and her father have been making preparations now for months to take over Worldwide. Sherry bluffs that Noah's along with the idea, but Noah's sudden arrival turns her lie around. Lucinda fires Sherry and tells her father that her attorneys will be going after him for everything he has. Noah later breaks the news to Luke that it's all over. Meanwhile, a scream goes out inside.

Everyone that's left rushes around Carrie, lying unconcious on the floor. Susan has medical personnel take her downstairs where she plans on examinging her. Carly fears for the lives of Carrie and her unborn baby. Meanwhile, Jack learns from a nurse that things aren't looking good. Jack tries to prep Carly for the worst, but she snaps at him that this is all his fault. If he hadn't given Carrie such a hard time about her past, she never would have had the stress level that she had. Jack finds it ridiculous that Carly's blaming him. As they round the corner, a worried, ranting Carly is taken by surprise when Jack pulls her into a kiss. As Carly stand shocked, Jack replies that it's the only way he knew to calm her dramatic hysterics. He whispers that Carrie's going to be fine as Susan approaches and tells Carly that she's going in to examine Carrie.

Katie, Lyla, and Margo have all returned to Lyla's suite and calmed down after the night's hectic festivities. Lyla and Margo are both stunned James has returned and recall that any time James returns, it's not a good sign of things to come. Katie's still in shock over discovering that Michael is married. She's shocked and hurt that he would keep something like that from her. She also blasts her mother for thinking that Michael is an adulterer. Lyla warns that there's alot about Michael that she doesn't know. Michael is capable of anything. Katie frowns and huffs that Lyla doesn't know him like she does. Margo breaks up the bickering and tells them that she has problems of her own. Casey's getting married to a two-timing slut. Lyla comically guesses "Emily?" to which all three ladies laugh. Margo laughs that if she were to ever discover Emily and Casey were an item, she'd go mentally insane. Back on the subject of James, Lyla promises that James probably had a hand in Oakdale before he ever appeared.

James convinces one of the security guards posted at Barbara's door that he's her nurse. The guard lets him in and James walks up on a sleeping Barbara. Startled from her sleep, Barbara starts to scream, but James clasps her mouth and warns her not to strain her voice. Barbara asks James why he's doing this. She's lost the father of her children, her daughter, and now she's lost any pride she had left thanks to cancer. What else does James want from her? James replies that he simply wants "forever". He leaves and a shaken Barbara seeks refuge in the middle of the night at Kim's.

Back at Dusty's house, he sits Emily down and asks how she's doing now that her ex-lover is back in town. Emily sits doe-eyed in her chair and Dusty chuckles that he wasn't so happy to see his once-supposed-father, either. Dusty guesses that James came back to town for a number of reasons and seeing that Barbara's alright is just at the beginning of the list.

Lily returns home and frantically searches for Holden and the children. Holden tells Lily to calm down. Lily screams that James is back in town and she wants to make sure her children are untainted by the bastard's hands. Holden tells Lily that he has something to tell her, but before he can mutter another word, Lily busts into the girls' room and finds Jade sleeping soundly with Faith. Lily's stunned and wonders why her niece came back to town. Holden promises that he knows nothing, but urges his wife to let her sleep; they'll find out everything tomorrow.

Carly leans against Jack's shoulder in the hospital waiting room, waiting to hear something from Susan. Carly mutters that Jack should be at home with the children, but he retorts that he wants to make sure everything is okay with Carrie and the baby. A somber Susan emerges and informs the two that Carrie has had a miscarriage. Susan prompts Carly to be easy when she goes in to visit. Jack asks what he can do and Susan replies that he can go find the baby's father. Susan hands him a sheet of paper. Written in fine print, the name "Noah Mayer" reads boldly. Jack's in utter disbelief.

Gwen notices Will's distant behavior. She knows how frightened, angry, and confused her husband is. She hates to add to the stress. Finally, she concludes that she can't tell Will that she's been taking Hallie to see Iris for months now. Little does she know that Will's upset about James's return, but he's even more upset that he's been betrayed by his wife. He recalls seeing her with Hallie as she drove into Iris's. He wonders how she could jeopardize everything based on her mother's pleas for yet another chance when he knows that Iris will never change. Meanwhile, Iris again tells Stan that she will never help him in his plan to rob Metro. She cites it as a misdeed against God, which makes Stan laugh. He chuckles that he never saw Iris turning to the Lord. Iris retorts that she has and there's nothing Stan can say to change her mind. Stan smiles as he tells Iris that with the money they steal from Metro, she can do whatever she wants, whatever she wouldn't be able to afford. She can starts a trust fund for Hallie, she can donate it all to God, or she can spend it on shoes and earrings. Iris forces a smirk across her face. She knows how she can put Stan in his place and save her reputation from any futher harm at the same time.

Rosanna checks on Paul and discovers that he has left his room, even though he promised not to go anywhere. She finally tracks him down at the Wagon Wheel thanks to a bellhop. It's there that she walks in on Paul pointing a gun at James.

Jack arrives at Lucinda's and apologizes for coming so late. He heard from Holden that Noah and Luke are staying the night at Lucinda's. She invites him in, reasoning that he wants to speak with Noah about the mole at Worldwide. Jack hesitates before knocking on the door. Noah comes to the door and tells him that he needs to get to Memorial. He opts not to tell Noah she's miscarried in front of Luke. When Noah returns to bed to gather his things, Luke asks to tag along, wanting to be there for his boyfriend as he helps his friend. Not able to hold it in anymore, Noah snaps that it's his responsibility to check on Carrie and the baby. Luke raises up in the bed and asks, "What baby? And why is it your responsibility?" Noah never answers and escapes to Memorial. Luke follows in his car, determined to find out once and for all what's going on. Deep in his mind, he knows. But he chooses to ignore his inner impulses. At the hospital, Carly thanks Noah for coming. A nurse spots Noah and walks over. "Are you the father?" Noah shamefully nods yes as Luke watches him walk away. He angrily wipes tears from his face. Out the door, past Carly's soothing voice, he hurries outside. He can't breathe. His anxiety heightens when he sees Lucinda emerge from the parking lot. He crumbles in his gradnmother's arms, crying tears of anger, shame, disappointment, confusion, heartbreak, and disgust. Now, he knows.

    Fade out.

Scene 4-The Lakeview: Suite 45B: Grant Hamilton's Suite
[Emma wheels Grant into his suite at the Lakeview. While Emma helps Grant into his bed, they lock eyes.]
EMMA: Well, we're home sweet home at last. [Emma takes the wheelchair into the living room and returns.]
GRANT: Oh, good. I've been craving some non-hospital air for quite some time.
EMMA: You sure are in good spirits for someone who just narrowly escape death in an automobile accident.
GRANT: Automobile? Emma, this is the 21st century. I think they call them "cars" now.
EMMA: Well, none the less, it's the best comfort you can receive. I'm sorry I wasn't able to accomodate you at the Wagon Wheel.
GRANT: Well, I think this will do...until we can get your farm back.
EMMA: Grant, don't start. You're bed-ridden. Don't make promises you can't keep just yet.

    Scene 5-Insteenct Offices
BARBARA: I've done enough? Pardon me?
ROXIE: Oh, no. I didn't mean it like that. I just meant that I don't know how I'll ever repay you.
    BARBARA: For what?
ROXIE: For standing up to Gwen about trying to steal my designs.
BARBARA: Well, if you've been in this business long enough like I have, you know that some people will stop at nothng. Although, I really don't see why Gwen would steal your designs. She handed in some pretty good ones at the beginning. I was anxious to see the rest of her ideas for Insteenct, but she said she lost them and by then, the deadline had passed.
ROXIE: Well, I didn't know how to handle Gwen. And you did. That's the important thing.

    Scene 6-Java Cafe
[Nancy sits at a table at Java. Katie walks in and the two friends hug.]
NANCY: Oh here, honey..before I forget...[Hands Katie some papers.] I found them online.
KATIE: Wow. These are so awesome. Thanks, Nancy.
NANCY: I guess I've gotten into the internet craze finally. Took me a good two months to learn how to turn the computer on. [They both laugh] Now, what did you need to talk to me about? It sounded pretty important over the phone.
KATIE: Well, it kind of is. But it might be nothing.
    NANCY: Well, spill it.
KATIE: I think Mike is up to something.

    Scene 7-Oakdale Mini-Mall
LUCINDA: Well, I talked with Iva and she has a buisness conforence in Minnesota to attend that she can't get out of. I don't know. Who else is there?
    MEG: Aaron and Alison.
DUSTY: I didn't even know they were coming.
    LUCINDA: But what about Julie?
MEG: Well, the doctor gave her a clean bill of health about three weeks ago and Alison said that ever since then, she's unstoppable. They say she might even be re-decorating the house soon.
    LUCINDA: Oh dear.
MEG: [laughs] Aaron won't get off work until 5:00 on the 9th, so they should be here somewhere around October 10th. I wish Caleb could come, but a friend of his died and the funeral is the day before the wedding, so there's no way for him to come. And I think Julie's going with Caleb.
LUCINDA: Well, dahlings...I have some work to get done, so I must be off.
DUSTY: Yeah, when is that meeting with the new clients?
LUCINDA: Hopefully soon. They're driving me insane.
    [Lucinda walks off]

    Scene 8-Insteenct Offices
BARBARA: Roxie, I said it was no prob...
ROXIE: Okay. Okay. I know you have a lot of work to do.
BARBARA: Unfortunately, I do. I have to go over the numbers for our first day of Insteenct being out on the market.
ROXIE: Well, call me if you need something.
    BARBARA: I doubt I will.
[Roxie walks into the receptionist's area and out the door. Venus, the receptionist, walks into Barbara's office.]
VENUS: Ms. Ryan? May I talk with you for a moment? It's about Roxie Miller.

    Scene 9-Grant's Suite
GRANT: Make promises I can't keep?
EMMA: You've been promising me that you'd help me get my farm back and nothing has even been done to further your venture.
GRANT: Well, you haven't been the most accepting..compared to my past clients.
EMMA: Oh, and I guess they were okay with you hovering their homes and farms above them all day long?
GRANT: Is that seriosuly whhat you feel like I've been doing?
EMMA: Well, what would YOU call it?
GRANT: I call it helping a friend in need.
EMMA: How can you lay there and say that I'm your friend when I've known you for almost a month?
[Grant winces in pain and moans]

    Scene 10-Java Cafe
NANCY: So you think Mike is up to something. How so?
KATIE: Well, a few days ago, I was going to go get groceries and Mike refused to let me go. He said that food could wait and we needed to focus on us. Then, he fed me some line about me having a broken tail-light and not wanting me to get pulled over.
NANCY: Katie, I'm sure you're just making a big thing out of nothing. I don't why he would forbid you from going shopping, though.
KATIE: He's just been acting very strangely lately. And a tail-light? I mean, when I last checked my car about two days ago, it was fine. I just don't know why he's been acting like such an a...
NANCY: He's probably just nervous about the wedding. [Katie looks at Nancy and Nancy look off]

    Scene 11-Dusty and Meg's House
[Meg and Dusty arrive back home and find their living room has been filled to the ceiling with flowers.]
    DUSTY: What the...
MEG: Oh man! I told the florist we had moved the date. I guess she didn't remember or something.
DUSTY: Great. Just great. What are we going to do with all these flowers?
MEG: I'll call the florist and you go find a best man.
DUSTY: Oh yeah. I forgot about that. [laughs] I'm just picking. Gah. Take a joke.
MEG: Dusty, is that what this all is to you? Just some big joke? Our wedding is two weeks away and all you can think about is what one liner you're going to pitch my way next?
DUSTY: Hush. I didn't mean anything. You really have a bad case of the nerves, don't you?
MEG: Well, I'm exactly 7 months pregnant. I have a wedding to plan. I just got back together with my fiancee after nearly calling off the wedding thanks to a one night stand my finacee had with his 23 year old fomer girlfriend that resulted in a baby and subsequently, a miscarriage. Why wouldn't I be just a tad touchy?! [sighs] I'm sorry.
DUSTY: No, no. It's okay. I deserve it.
MEG: No, you don't. You've been truly great this last week and I don't know what just got into me.
DUSTY: Meg, quit making excuses for me. I've a sleaze ball and I deserve every bit of anger, frustration, hatred...whatever you want to give me. But for now, I have to go find a best man. [They kiss, Meg apologizes one more time, and Dusty leaves.]

    Scene 12-Grant's Suite
    [Emma gives Grant some medicine]
EMMA: Grant, you can't be scaring an old lady like myself like that. Not anymore.
GRANT: I'm sorry. I just get myself worked up, I suppose.
EMMA: I apologize. I shouldn't have gone off on you like that. As a matter of fact, I think it's time I told you the reason I called you to the Wagon Wheel the night you had your accident. I had a long talk with Susan Stewart and she finally made me realize that you and the whole rest of my family..[choking back tears]...You're all just trying to help me get my life back.
GRANT: It took you long enough.
    EMMA: Pardon?
GRANT: I was just about to leave town when I got your call.
EMMA: That's a lie. And you know it.

Scene 13-Java Cafe/Java Cafe Parking Lot
    KATIE: Wedding? What wedding?
NANCY: [trying to cover it up] Well, you and Mike ARE getting married aren't you?
KATIE: Well, yes, but not anytime soon, I suppose. Mike has had alot of trouble with the bills lately since this summer was a dead period as far as construction.
NANCY: Well, he could be worried about that. All the bills he has to pay. The slump in business. He could be nervous about starting a new life with you as soon as you two get married. For all you know, he could be nervous about a potted plant that seems to be dying.
KATIE: [laughs] The only shrubbery Mike's interested in is trees...that have been cut down, processed, cut, and all that. The only good he sees in trees is in 2x4 form.
NANCY: Well, like I said, give him some time. He'll come around. I'm almost certain you're over-reacting, dear. I admit, as much as I like you, you DO have a knack for it at times.
KATIE: Okay, I guess I deserved that. Well, I better get going. You can go on ahead. I have to use the bathroom.
[Katie goes to the bathroom, Nancy grabs a tire tool out of her car and jams it in Katie's tail-light, breaking it. In a comical scene, she gets a dustpan and brrom out of her car and sweeps up all the debris from the broken tail-light. Then, Nancy slighty chuckles and drives off. Katie comes out and notices her tail-light.]
KATIE: What the..? When did THAT get there? Hmm...maybe Mike isn't acting so weird after all.

    Scene 14-John Dixon's House
[Dusty walks up to John's house and rings the doorbell. John answers the door.]
JOHN: Well hello there, Dusty. What can I do for you?
DUSTY: You always answer the door in such a demanding voice?
JOHN: Demanding? Oh no. I'm just reading. Hate to leave a good book. Well, what are you standing out there for? Come in. [Dusty walks in.]
DUSTY: I won't be long. I just had to ask you a quick question.
JOHN: As long as you're not selling Girl Scout cookies.
DUSTY: You know, you never have been good at the whole jokes routine. [They laugh] Anyways, the reason I'm here...It's about mine and Meg's wedding. You know, it's the 18th of October at Luthers Corners Church.
JOHN: Well, I haven't gotten an invitation.
DUSTY: [laughs] We haven't gotten that far yet.
    JOHN: Oh?
DUSTY: Yeah. So, John...tell me. What would you think about being my best man?

    Scene 15-Grant's Suite
EMMA: I heard from Jack that you were over there pelading your case and telling him not to lose faith in me.
GRANT: Okay, you caught me. I wasn't leaving town. But I hope you know. I have been very seriosuly thinking about it.
EMMA: Well, I hope you know that you're not able to do that now.
GRANT: [examining himself] I guess not. I AM paralyzed, even if it's temporary.
EMMA: That's what you keep saying, but when we left, Ben told you that your spinal cord and nerves weren't hurt as bad as they thought they were. He said you'd have trouble gaining sensation at first, but you should be fine in a week or so.
GRANT: Sensation, eh? Why don't you check my lips. They seem a little tingly.
    EMMA: I declare!
GRANT: [chuckles] Listen. Sooner or later, we going to have to talk about...
EMMA: I know. I've been pondering that mistake in my head ever since that night.
GRANT: So you think our love making that night was all a big mistake?
EMMA: Grant, I've been alone for quite some time now. Not even the mailman has shown me the slighest hint of affection. When you kissed me, it was a flood of emotions. I was overwhlemed. I couldn't think clearly.
GRANT: Well, I for one, enjoyed every second of it. And there's nothing you could do to change that.

    Scene 16-Insteenct Offices
BARBARA: Come in, Venus. What's troubling you about Roxie?
VENUS: [shuts door behind her] Well, I just think you should know that she's not all she makes herself out to be.
BARBARA: You're being very vague, Venus. Is there something I should know?
VENUS: Well, I was told that I should keep my mouth shut but it's been killing me lately.
BARBARA: Who told you to keep quiet? And what about?
VENUS: I really shouldn't say, Ms. Ryan. I don't want my friend to be even more hurt than she already is.
BARBARA: Well, if you're going to talk, then do so. If you're not, then quit wasting my tim...
VENUS: Gwen. Gwen Norbeck. She's been my best friend since...practically birth. She told me that Roxie did her wrong.
    BARBARA: How so?
VENUS: Okay. I'll tell you. You know those designs that Roxie gave you some time back..for the very first line of Insteenct?
    BARBARA: Yes.
VENUS: You didn't hear it from me, but...those designs were Gwen's. Roxie stole Gwen's designs.
[Freeze on Barbara's shocked, yet confused expression]

Also attached is an apologetic note, since he knows it's going to be late. Carly offers to get it framed, but Parker insists he'd rather wear it. Carly offers to give him a ride to hockey practice, and when Carly tries to assure him Jack will be home soon, he sits in stony silence. At the rink, their coach announces he has to have surgery, but he's gotten an assistant to take over for the rest of the season, Mick Donnelly.

Lily assures Craig through jail cell bars that Rosanna will see the light and eventually drop the charges. Until then, she's hired Tom to represent him. Craig chimes that he and Tom haven't exactly gotten along, which Tom walks in to hear. Tom changes the subject, stating that Craig's case is pretty open and close. Since Craig is technically Cabot's adoptive father and the child was in danger, the court shouldn't have a case. Later, Holden voices his concern in Lily's innate soft spot for Craig. He's showed her time and time again that he can't be trusted, he grumbles. The fight is cut short when Lucinda calls Lily and orders her over as quickly as possible. Across town, Rosanna makes her first public appearance with Cabot in tow, knowing that Craig is behind bars. She calls Gwen over and the two have a bonding moment with the toddler that they both once called their own.

At Lucinda's, Lily walks in to her mother's worst nightmare. Reporters crawl the lawn, hoping to get a quote from the millionaire's daughter. Lily's confused and once inside, Lucinda has her sit down. She explains that when she was Mary Ellen Walters living in Peoria, she met and fell in love with a man. They soon got married, but things didn't work out. In the end, she fled to Montega and the rest is history. Lily's overcome with shock; her mother had a past that she neglected to mention until now. Lucinda prepares her, hissing that Emily broke the story in today's Intruder and she wanted Lily to know before she picked up a copy or heard from someone else. Lily asks who the man is and why Emily had anything to do with it. Playing innocent, Lucinda comes up with a last minute excuse for Emily's involvement and blurts out that the man is Clark Allan.

At the farm, reporters are buzzing outside. Emma's livid, demanding that they all retreat. Holden offers to scare them off, but Emma says she already tried. They've been out there all morning. Since the Intruder made a false claim that Lucinda and Clark were once married, her phone has been ringing off the hook. Even Chicago reporters are taking an interest in the humorous tale. Clark comes in, fresh out of a meeting back home, and asks what the fuss is about. Emma explains everything and Clark chuckles. He doesn't even know Lucinda Walsh that well; only from business dealings. Later, Clark sees the photo from the Intruder and finally realizes that Lucinda is Mary Ellen.

As Susan kisses Michael goodbye, Emily rushes in the door. She mumbles that her life is falling apart, wiping tears from her eyes. Dusty won't return her calls and the city is abuzz with a story that she never intended to go to press. After recalling the story of how she found out Clark and Lucinda were once married, she explains that Lucinda paid her off to keep quiet. The story was just a mock-up, she cries, in case Lucinda did anything to further complicate the situation. Susan rolls her eyes and grumbles that Emily digs her own hole alot of times. Meanwhile, Dusty tosses back drinks at a dark and empty Donovan's. Alison comes in to help clean up the debris from the previous night's party but Dusty moans for her to go home. Instead, Alison pulls up a chair and Dusty informs her that he and Emily are over. This time, for good.

Will approaches Jade and asks to speak with her alone. Finally, away from the crowd, Will apologizes for the way things went south between them. He knows that deep down, Jade has a good heart. Jade thanks him and asks what brought this all about. Seeing Carrie out of the corner of her eye, Jade hints that he doesn't have to mend bridges with her; she deliberately ruined his relationship with Gwen just to get what she wanted. They agree to leave the past where it belongs and move on. Later, Carrie congratulates Will on taking steps to smooth things over with Jade. Noah comes and pulls Carrie aside, telling her that Barbara has asked her to come in and edit some designs because of a last minute fabric snafu. Carrie leaves with Noah, but not before bidding her friend Will goodbye. Later, Casey gives props to Will for finally getting out of the house. He mentions Carrie being quite the catch, but Will sternly mumbles they're just friends.

Rosanna tries to avoid Meg calling her name, but eventually turns around. Bothered, she asks what brought Meg to town. Does she care to fill Paul's head with lies again. Meg looks down and fiddles with her fingers before admitting that she and Josh have actually reunited. Rosanna tells her that she's late for an appointment and asks Meg to just spit out what she wants to say. Meg reveals that she knows she hurt Rosanna. The truth is that she did all that out of fear. She knew that she no longer held Paul's heart and she was just a fill-in for the one woman that he had never quite gotten over: Rosanna. Hearing all this, Rosanna says that what she did was unforgiveable; but Meg stops her. She doesn't want forgiveness for herself, but rather for Paul. He was just caught in the middle and he was the innocent one. He only believed Meg because he was stuck in the middle and the child issue was a factor. Before taking her cue to exit, Meg urges her to remember the good times with Paul and don't ever give up on getting those good times back. "I'm sorry that I was the one that kept those good times from you both," she musters with a teary face before walking away.

Standing baffled by his abrupt entrance and his hurls of insults, Carly asks what he's talking about. Brad tells her that thanks to her shoving Katie, she's now miscarried. Carly's jaw drops open, unable to fathom the lies Katie must be spinning now. The two get into an extremely heated argument, and Jack walks in just as Brad grabs Carly and starts shaking her. Jack gets him to back off, and Brad spills his version of events, making Carly seem like a vengeful bitch and leaves, making some snarky assed comment about Jack being better off without her. Jack's silent as Carly starts explaining everything---how they ran into each other in Chicago, where Katie spilled a drink on her, how she seemed nervous that Carly would mention it to anyone, that they had a big fight then tries to show him the bill from Katie's room listing various food and drink items that pregnant women shouldn't be indulging in. Jack says he doesn't care what Katie did. He's upset that Carly is carrying out some stupid vendetta. He doesn't like that side of her, which kept messing things up for them for a lot of years. Carly bitchily wonders why he's not congratulating her for discovering the truth, which he's always said is so important to him. At least when she's lying to him, anyway. His precious Katie gets a pass, and she's sick of it. Fed up, Carly heads upstairs and slams the door behind her, leaving Jack to show his own self out.

Luke finishes up some studying at Java when Alison comes in and reminds him of the back to semester party that Donovan's is holding. She asks him if he and Kevin have worked things out and Luke reports that Kevin went back to the apartment, got in his truck, and hasn't returned calls since. Alison explains that he probably just has a hard time dealing with mentions of Noah, especially since they were together for a while before Kevin returned to town. Alison thinks that maybe Kevin held his feelings for Luke inside out of fear of rejection. All the time Noah spent with Luke, she continues, is time Kevin lost because he was too afraid to express his long suppressed feelings for Luke. Thnking it over, Luke says he might make an appearance at the party. Later, Alison runs into Emily who beams that she and Dusty finally worked everything out. Alison spies her sister wearing an expensive bracelet that she wanted, but it cost a fortune so she kept walking. She asks where Emily got the money to afford such a thing, but Emily jerks her arm away and musters a smile. She got it on sale, she explains before quickly making an exit. As she walks away, Emily hopes that Alison bought her story and will quit asking questions.

Rosanna finally catches up to Paul at Barbara's door. They're relieved to see Barbara's fine and she asks what all the commotion is. Rosanna tells her that Paul pulled a gun on James, but when he said he had information about Cabot, he dashed out the door. Barbara scolds Paul for being so reckless and tells him that he should know better than anyone that James Stenbeck doesn't just go away because you want him to. Even in death, he still finds a way to resurface. Jack comes by and learns that James broke in earlier. Jack makes a few calls and makes arrangements for Barbara to spend the night somewhere else. Barbara refuses, saying that she's not going to live in fear. She's going to fight James like the cancer that's inside of her.

Jade brings Luke a muffin and a bottled water in hopes of getting him to sober up. Luke can't believe that his cousin's back in town. Before he can ask about her, Jade asks Luke what happened with Noah. Luke cries that he's been noticing Noah drifting away for some time, but he never thought that his boyfriend would get a girl pregnant and then lie about it. Jade tells Luke that he should confront Noah and then maybe he'll have some peace as to why Noah did all of this. Luke tells her that nothing in this world can excuse a liar and a cheater. Jade looks at her cousin and asks if he thinks that about her. She cheated and she lied the last time she was in Oakdale, but the only reason her family was so forgiving was because they knew what all she had been through. Perhaps, she suggests, talking to Noah will let Luke see what led him to have sex with Carrie.

Carly goes to the hospital in an attempt to cheer up Carrie. She brings the kids along and warns them that Carrie's in a very fragile state. Carrie's excited to see the kids and takes special time to thank Carly for everything she's done. Carly calls her on her goodbye speech and Carly asks why Carrie should leave Oakdale. She has everything she could ever want here...people that love her for who she is. While a nurse directs the kids to the soda machine, Carrie explains that she can't have everyone in Oakdale staring at her. Carly smiles, reminding Carrie that she has no one to answer to but herself. Carrie decides to stay in Oakdale, but stresses that she doesn't know how she'll handle Luke being mad at her. Carly tells her that what Carrie and Noah did was wrong, but Noah gave her no reason to think he was with someone. What they did was before Carrie ever knew Luke.

Working in the flower beds per Emma's command, Alison and Aaron playfully fiddle with the dirt. Aaron claims that he had a blast the other night until James showed up. Alison fears that James's return could jeopardize her family. Aaron scoffs that James has been known to pick on the Snyders and hopes that this time, it's just a family visit. He remembers hearing that James came to check on Barbara, so perhaps he has no other dastardly deeds in mind. Alison asks if Aaron's heard anything from Caleb and he replies that his dad is gone on a business trip but is still toying with the idea of returning to Oakdale. Emma comes outside with some lemonade and tells them about Luke and Noah. Aaron comments that he doesn't think Luke will be lonely long; he has an admirer he doesn't even know he has.

Emily catches up on some stories at The Enquirer offices. Dusty comes in with a load of paper work and tells her that she has until this weekend to do it all. Emily laughs, promising she'll have it done in an hour with work going as slow as it is. Dusty asks if Emily's written about the cancer center opening and she eyeballs him, reminding him that he asked to write it. Dusty grins that he changed his mind. He asks what Emily has planned after work and invites her to come see a movie with him. Emily asks if it's a date and Dusty terms it as an "after business hours meeting with popcorn".

As he walks through the Oakdale square, Noah glances at a flyer for the cancer center opening. He yanks it down and crumbles it up, remembering the fallout after the night's festivities. He never imagined that his night with Carrie would come back to bite him in the butt. Lucinda emerges from Fashions and asks to speak with him. The two st on a bench and Lucinda sternly advises that Noah has alot of explaining to do. But first, she wants to thank him for his help at Worldwide. Without his help, they never would have been able to handle the mole crisis. Lucinda informs Noah that the vice president of WorldOne and his daughter Sherry are being investigated for fraud so they shouldn't be a problem anymore. Noah asks if Lucinda's mad at him for getting Carrie pregnant. Lucinda explains that she's not mad that he got a girl pregnant; that's his own drunken mistake. But as she continues, she explains that she is upset that Noah did it while he was still with Luke. He should have known Luke would find out and he should have never trampled over Luke's heart like he's done. Perhaps an apology is necessary, she calls out as she leaves Noah behind. Noah turns quickly and finds Holden standing right behind him. He sighs.

    Tuesday

The next morning, Brad still can't believe that Katie is pregnant. Katie seems shaken about lying to Brad in order to hault their plans to leave Oakdale and doesn't say much. When Lyla emerges from the bedroom, Brad urges Katie to break the news to her. Katie decides against it. She claims it would only devastate her mother even more if she knew that she was inheriting a grandchild, especially since she recently found out her cancer has returned. Brad's in shock at the news, recalling that the doctors had so much hope for Lyla to stay in remission. Brad jets off for Emma's and invites Katie along, but she declines. With Brad out of the house, Katie folds her arms against her head and wonders what she was thinking by lying to Brad.

Lucinda comes by the guesthouse to see if Luke has any news on Noah. Luke comments that he hasn't heard anything and Lucinda leaves to seek answers from Barbara. Kevin comes out of the shower and is very short with Luke when he asks what his plans are for the day. Frustrated by Kevin's attitude, Luke calls him on it and Kevin finally reveals that he didn't take too kindly to Luke rushing to Noah's side at the hospital. Luke defends his actions and admits that he and Noah might not be together anymore, but he still cares what happens to him. Later, Jade drops by and tells Luke that she's been very hesitant towards Colin and now that she knows he's her adoptive brother, she doesn't know if she can keep living with him. He's starting to think they're more than friends, she explains. Luke laughs and tells Jade that they need to come up with a plan that will trip Colin up. Jade interjects that she thinks she knows what to do just as Luke stops her. In a hurry, he reveals that he forgot all about the family meeting at the farm and rushes out.

After spending the night on the couch, Noah finds Carrie in the bathroom getting dressed. Assuming she's going to work, Noah gasps that she can't be serious; Barbara can't be demanding her to go to work not even 12 hours after she was almost killed. Carrie replies that she's not going to work, but she is going with Barbara to the reading of James's will. In the other room, Lucinda appears and asks Barbara if she's heard anything from Noah. Noah emerges just as Barbara slightly grumbles for Lucinda to see for herself. Happy to see him, Lucinda hugs Noah and tells him that she's put someone else on the account that he was working so hard on. Knowing that Barbara and Carrie will be gone, Noah insists he get back to work to keep his mind off of things. Lucinda reluctantly agrees, and later shows up to Lily's and learns that Emma has a new boyfriend. When Lily mentions the man's name, Clark Allan, Lucinda gasps.

At the will reading, Paul fidgets in his chair as Barbara saunters in with Carrie in tow. Immediately, Paul brings Barbara to the side and asks if Carrie should be resting. Barbara accuses Paul of not wanting her here. She recalls that James and Carrie had some sort of connection, business or friendly, and she wanted to honor that connection by bringing her. Paul, fearful that James might spill the beans on Carrie's identity in his will somehow, is adamant that Carrie go home and get some rest, but Carrie quietly rebutts that she's fine. The lawyer starts to read the will and explains that James has left 50% of his almost-bankrupt estate to Barbara and the other 50% to Paul. Meanwhile, the lawyer adds, James has left Carrie a manila envelope with information inside. After she is gone back home, Barbara and Paul wonder aloud what could possibly be in the envelope that he left to Carrie. Across town, Carrie rips through the envelope, pulls out a birth certificate along with some documents, and faints.

Ruffling through the morning paper, Holden puts it down when he sees Jack, Carly, and Brad come in the door, almost simultaneously. Holden explains that Aaron couldn't come, but he's glad they showed up. Stomach grumbling, Brad heads for the fridge as Jack questions Holden about the meeting. Holden promises that he'll tell everything once Luke has arrived. Waiting, the three sit down at the table and Brad reveals that Katie's pregnant. Jack's happy for the two and remembers how badly Katie has always wanted children. Carly rolls her eyes, disgusted, and goes outside, only to run into Lily. The two friends make small talk when Luke comes up behind them. Lily notices everyone inside and motions for them to follow her inside. Once inside, Holden reveals that for almost a year now, Emma has been sneaking off to meet with a man. The man, Clark Allan, is at best, her new boyfriend, but Emma exploded when she learned of Holden and Lily's plot to get him to come to town. Though the plan worked, Emma's still livid. Holden continues that he thinks that they all need to rally behind Emma and really show their support for the fact that she's moving on in her love life. Just as they all agree to give their blessing and support to her, Emma appears and stops mid-sentence in asking where all the cars outside came from. Realizing what has happened, Emma fumes that she's glad they're all here. She has a few things she needs to say to them all, she huffs.

After Jack escorts Will home, Carly calls by and warns Gwen that her husband has been looking for her. Gwen doesn't know what to do with Will anymore and fears for her safety and for Hallie's. Carly maternally scolds her sister for thinking such a thing; Will would never even think about harming Gwen or the baby. When Jack returns, Carly thanks him for all his effort in making her family at peace again and rewards him with a kiss on the cheek. Later, Jack confides in Holden that he keeps getting mixed signals from Carly. Holden advises his cousin to go after her. The subject of Clark comes up and Holden informs Jack that Lily has asked Dusty to look into it. Jack isn't pleased with the news and wishes Dusty wasn't interfering in such a private family matter.

Dusty knocks on the door at Lucinda's and the two make small chat about Worldwide's tremendous rebound since Craig nearly sank it. Dusty is glad the bastard is dead and gone and has hope that Lucy will return Johnny once she learns of her father's death. Dusty realizes that Lucinda hasn't spoken with Lucy in quite some time and apologizes for being so insensitive. Lucinda changes the subject and asks what brings Dusty by. Dusty reveals that he knows that she knows Clark; and he knows why she wants to keep it under wraps. Lucinda calls his bluff and Dusty reveals that Clark was her childhood sweetheart from her Mary Ellen days in Peoria. Lucinda is shocked and in an emotional rage, she orders Dusty out of her study, but not before striking fear into his heart by forbidding him from telling anyone.

After dinner is over, Bob heads out to the hospital on an emergency page. Kim finds Nancy helping Chris pack his things. She moans that she wishes he didn't have to leave so soon, but her son playfully reminds her that he has a plane to catch. Kim kisses her son goodbye before thanking him for what he's done. The concern he has shown for his parents has helped them tremendously. Chris admits that he's still very worried about them and doesn't want them to seperate over such frivolous things. Kim promises to keep her tongue in check around Susan. As the two get ready to go to the airport, Nancy offers to walk Chris out to the car. With Kim in the car waiting, Nancy touches her grandson's cheek and reminds him just how proud she is of him; and Chris Sr. would be, too. She knows it because she can feel his smile surrounding them right now. Chris and Nancy both choek back tears as Nancy tells Chris that he may have made a mistake in what he did, but he's a better, wiser man now because of it. Chris thanks Nancy and kisses her goodbye before ducking into the car with Kim. Nancy waves as she watches them drive away.

At the hospital, Bob's busy with patients from a bus incident when Chris comes through and says goodbye. Bob remarks how he has forgiven Chris, despite his initial feelings of anger, hurt, and betrayal. Chris disappointedly confesses that he knows he hurt Bob, but if he could change it, he would. Bob tells him that now is no time for regrets; it's happened and now, it's in the past. The father and son share an extremely emotion-filled goodbye as Kim looks on. Susan happens upon them, spots Kim, and groans that she'll come back. Chris stops her and tells her that his mother has something to say to her. "Oh great," she sighs. Kim chokes on her pride and holds out her hand, explaining that she's let a 20 year grudge nearly destroy her marriage and she's ready to send the past where it belongs..in the past. Susan calls her on it, recalling that they called truce months ago before Kim started interfering in hers and Michael's relationship. Kim gives Chris an infuriated look, but he reminds her with a glance why she's doing this by looking at himself and then Bob.

Kim takes her hand and jolts it forward again, asking that this time, they calls a real truce. Never again will the past be mentioned, she swears. She nearly suffocates when spitting out that she acknowledges that Susan is one of Bob's best friends and colleagues and she's not going to stand in the way of that. The past is in the past, she repeats. Finally, a reluctant Susan shakes her hand before dismissing herself from the akward situation. Chris grabs Bob and Kim and drapes his arms over their shoulders, with him in the middle and Bob and Kim on each side. As they walk down the hall, Chris teases, "Now that wasn's so hard was it?" Kim replies, "Oh, the things I do for you, Christopher!" The three laugh as they walk out of Memorial and head towards the airport.

Alison rolls over, pushing the hair out of her face and pulling the cover up over her bare breasts. She giggles like a schoolgirl at the sight of Aaron sprawled out butt naked on the bed. She quickly dresses and softly sighs to Aaron that she's leaving. He does nothing except scratch his chest and groan before finally rolling over. Alison leaves and immediately, reports for work at Donovan's. She soon comes face to face with her mother. Susan informs her that Chris has left town and made his mother call another truce before doing so. Alison's distraught that Chris left town without telling her goodbye, recalling that she wanted to talk to him again. Susan's still baffled by what just happened between her and Kim. Alison admits that maybe, somewhere deep down, Kim cares enough for the survival of her marriage to truly mean it this time. Susan changes the subject back to Chris and asks what he and Alison chatted about. Alison recalls Chris having some wise words when it came to excusing Aaron's wild behavior and jealousy of Casey. "He said that for Aaron to go that out of the way, for him to really be that jealous," she explains, "than it must answer my question I've had for as long as Aaron and I have been together: Am I really good enough for him?" Susan agrees that if Aaron didn't love Alison, he would have never acted that way. Alison smiles at the twisted irony of the situation. Later, Aaron confides in Holden that he thinks he and Alison are on the way to recovery. Holden muses that it might be so, but in order for that to happen, he's going to have to rid himself of his jealousy with Casey.

Lucinda becomes depressed and contemplates killing James in order to free herself. James, dead-set on becoming head of Worldwide and keeping Lucinda as far away from the company as possible (i.e. Australia!), begins to slowly choke the life out of the company, using his newly formed company Stenbeck International. Little do they know that halfway across the globe, Barbara is aiding Lucinda’s family and friends in the search. When one family member sacrifices herself to save Lucinda, you won’t believe the outcome!

Andy is baffled at why Emily keeps rejecting him and goes to his father for a little advice. When John becomes hesitant and tells Andy to dump her unless he wants his heart stomped in the ground, he grows suspicious of the connection between John and Emily rejecting him, leading Emily to finally reveal all. Later, Emily faces a familiar foe when fate throws them in the same room together.

Jennifer and Nick, happy in their newfound love, are in for a shock when they realize that they have been lollygagging around while Threadz has been slowly tanking. Knowing her cousin is an accomplished photographer, she asks Andy to shoot the new ads and places a few Oakdale divas in front of the spotlight. However, Jennifer is soon shocked to discover that Andy and Emily have become a couple and readies herself for one last battle with the woman who helped her brother keep her child from her, Emily.

Henry finally gives up all hope of ever establishing a worthwhile career for himself, but is soon pulled out of the gutters of self-torment by someone surprising. Knowing the toll that all of the recent events have had on Henry, this person teaches him that not everyone can scheme and make a life for their self.

Maddie is terrorized by the fact that Heath, her childhood sweetheart, would lay a finger on her. Not wanting to totally ruin things with him, she makes an ultimatum. If he stops drinking, she’ll become friends with him again. But nothing more. And as you can imagine, Luke isn’t very happy and seeks to destroy any second chance at a friendship that Heath and Maddie may have, forcing one Oakdale teen to do the unthinkable.

Roxie becomes even more fearful of her grandmother when she starts receiving odd messages, assuring her impending death. Not wanting to trouble anyone, Roxie makes plans to leave Oakdale, which are soon halted when Tom discovers the notes. Lisa becomes worried for her granddaughter' safety, forcing her to do whatever it takes to get Nadine out of town.

Hal quickly recovers thanks to the experimental drug Susan has been administering to him, but Bob soon finds the empty drug container and suspends Susan. Hal immediately feels guilty and tries to make it up to Susan. Soon, one thing leads to another and before you know it, romance begins blossoming.

Kim receives an urgent page from Chris to come to the house. Upon arrival, she discovers that she's been set up. The dinner table is set, Chris and Nancy have cooked Kim's favorite, and Bob is sitting at the table. Although reluctant, Kim finally sits down to the table to eat. Chris and Nancy take their cue and exit. Bob comments how nice the meal is and Kim's doubtful that Bob didn't know. Bob argues that he got the same urgent page from Chris and Kim seems satisifed with his defense. The two begin to eat while Nancy and Chris eavesdrop from the hallway. Kim admits that she misses Bob. In turn, Bob recalls that Kim's the one that's distanced herself. Through tears, she admits that she knows that they have alot of things to work out, but she's willing to give this all another try. Bob grins that he'd like that very much. Nancy and Chris high-five to their success and retreat to the living room.

Aaron gets a bit excited when he sees Alison walk through the door of the apartment, but soon reminds himself that he's in the process of moving out of her apartment. From the hall, she calls out, wondering if he's done yet. She'd like to take a shower. He tells her that he likes just a few minutes. He sits on the bed and re-plays Casey walking in and finding the box of mail from Gabe. It kills him how deceitful he's become and inwardly cracks that it's something he could picture Alison doing, but never himself. He quickly strolls to the bathroom to grab his toothbrush, calling out for Alison through the noise of the shower that he's leaving. He thinks he hears Alison call his name and inches closer to the shower to get a better listen. He folds back the curtain, making Alison scream. Knowing that it's now or never, Aaron spontaneously jumps into the shower, fully clothed, with Alison. As the steam rises, passions gets the better of the two and before long, Aaron's pulling his clingy, wet shirt off and passionately kissing Alison.

Driving along, Dusty sees Noah broke down on the side of the road. He pulls over and helps his old friend change his tire while the two play catch up. Noah's stunned to hear that Dusty's marrying Emily and admits that he could never marry someone who took him hostage and almost killed him. Flashing back to that dark cabin from just a year ago, Dusty flinches at the memory and bids adieu to Noah. Meeting Emily for coffee at Java, he keeps re-playing that horrific memory in his head. Emily notices he's being distant and calls him on his non-sociable attitude. Dusty pawns it off to being exhausted and retreats back home. When Lily appears, wondering if Dusty can do some P.I. work for her on Clark, Dusty admits to her that he thinks he's having second thoughts about marrying Emily. Lily urges her old friend to follow his heart, not his head. If Emily can forget and forgive Dusty for all his past mistakes, then surely he can forget and forgive Emily for what she's done in the past.

Noah thanks Dusty for his help and continues onward to Barbara's penthouse. Scurrying around with designs, Barbara growls that Carrie isn't home. Noah decides to wait and makes small talk with Barbara while he waits. He praises Carrie for all her hard work and gushes that she's been more than ecstatic to work with her idol Barbara Ryan. Barbara fakes a touched glance and retreats to her office for a quick conference call, ordering Noah to make himself at home while he waits for Carrie. As he strolls along the lush penthouse, he notices several photos of Barbara with Jennifer and recalls how Carrie revealed to him that she's Jennifer's half-sister. When Carrie arrives, Noah once again urges her to make herself known to Barbara for who she really is. Carrie defends that Barbara will find out in time and politely asks for him not to bring it up anymore. End of conversation, she scolds.

Jack drives up to Carly's, dropping off J.J., when he notices Will outside hassling Sage. Sage hollers for Will to go home as Will stumbles and almost falls on the poor girl. Jack quickly snatches a very intoxicated Will and drags him into a cold shoulder. After he's dried a little, Will half-soberly moans that he was just trying to find Gwen. Jack reprimands him, stating that Hal's probably looking down on his son and frowning. He reminds the youth that he's in this position because of what he did to Iris. Coming home from an exhaustive day at work, Carly makes up her way upstairs and overhears Jack telling Will that it's not his job to "fix" Gwen's life. Jack tried to do that for Carly, and they ended up breaking up because of it. Hal once told Jack he needed to "let Carly be Carly", and Jack is passing on that advice to Will. Will needs to let Gwen make her own decisions. His job is to be there for her---through the good or the bad. Carly, quite impressed, shows a slight smile as she listens.

Lurking in the shadows, Kevin hears everything. Meanwhile, Luke tells Lily everything and she's horrified to learn Colin was hoping to get close to Jade for money. Later, Aaron comes by and Lily accidentally spills that Holden saw Alison with another man the other night.

Lucinda waltzes into Donovan's and Dusty reports that their mission was a failure. Lucinda sighs that she'll have to think of another plan. When Dusty calls her out on why she wants to keep her past with Clark hidden, Lucinda fires back it's none of his concern. Little do they know that Emily has heard the whole thing. Across town, Lily approaches Colin and verbally berates him for preying on Jade and her family.

At home, Will answers a knock on the door and finds Alison on the other side. She confronts her old friend with what all she's heard from Gwen and Will realizes that Iris has been setting him up. Later, Alison runs into Aaron who huffs that Lily's told him everything; he knows she's been seeing someone behind his back. Alison replies that she was trying to expose Jade's adoptive step-brother for trying to get to Lil's money. Once he hears Jade was behind everything, he heads off to confront her.

Rosanna sees Paul fussing at a secretary at the B.R.O. offices and calls him out on it. Paul huffs that he's just been in a foul mood ever since Carrie slithered her way into his family's life; Barbara seems to think she'll replace Jennifer. Rosanna suggests Paul calm down, but he changes the subject to Cabot. Interrupting, Rosanna's hired private investigator Neil calls and reveals that he's got some info on the Kathy woman that Rosanna encountered in Arizona.

Dusty and Meg finally arrive at Emma's with baby Nicole. Carly, Sierra and Lucy, who came by to help Emma move back in, gush over the newborn. Emma takes Meg aside and asks what their plans are for a new home for them and their baby. Meg immediately changes the subject to Josh and all the turmoil he caused at the wedding. Emma says that she talked with Josh breifly on the phone the other day and promised never to bother Dusty or Meg again. She explains how he never meant any harm and simply had some skeletons that he felt like cleaning out of his closet. She also tells of how she lectured Josh on the fact that he unveiled all of this in front of half of Oakdale at a wedding. Meg is livid that her mother talked to Josh behind her back. She grabs Dusty, who has Nicole, and the three leave. Later, Lily drops by to lend a helping hand but is called away by Lucinda, wanting to see her at her office. Emily drops by to see Susan and tells her for Andy's departure. Susan says she already knows, since Andy is at Oakdale Memorial as the resident AA counselor. Emily finally gets the hint that Susan wants to be alone and leaves, running to Java for a quick cup of coffee and the latest issue of Soap Opera Magazine. At WOAK, Kim meets with Brad and Katie in her office. She offers her sympathy on their loss, and realizes what a strain that's been on their marriage. Kim pointedly tells them she's ignoring the gossip flying around the station, and expects them to be professionals on the set of Oakdale Now. When Brad starts to protest there's no way he's working with Katie, Kim shuts him up by reminding him he's under contract. Anyone who breaches their contract will get their fanny sued off before she's done with them. As they exit, Katie tries to apologize for her outburst at Donovan's on New Year's Eve. Brad tells her to get used to seeing him around town having fun because he's made it his New Year's resolution, in addition to divorcing her as quickly as possible. As he walks off, he loudly asks Jimmy, the new intern, if he knows where Carly is.

The assistant district attorney meets with Rosanna and Paul and tells them that there's no way that they're going to spend time on Craig's case. Since he's still legally Cabot's adoptive father and there's no hard evidence that says Craig was harming the child, the case will be thrown out. Meanwhile, Margo reluctantly lets her brother out of his cell and sighs that she'll probably see him back around these parts sooner or later. Paul's furious after the meeting with the A.D.A. and confronts Craig at the Lakeview, demanding he sign over his rights to Cabot immediately. Craig snaps back and Lisa interferes, helping avoid a brawl between the two men. Later, Craig overhears a realtor stating that Fairwinds is close to foreclosure. He makes his way over to the estate and tells Rosanna that he knows her payments on the estate have been lack because of her exhaustive search efforts for Cabot. He agrees to foot the bill and get her out of her financial troubles, with the exception that she share custody of Cabot with him. Rosanna refuses, but when Cabot won't stop crying, Craig is the one able to soothe him. Reluctantly, she agrees to think it over and brings it up to Paul. Paul blows up and scolds her for even letting the thought cross her mind. Hurt, Rosanna lashes back that he has no say-so in the matter and asks him to leave.

Barging into Carly's office, Brad vents about Kim's expectations for him to just suck it up and work with his soon-to-be ex. Carly gives him no sympathy, telling him he's lucky Katie hasn't made it her mission to send him to jail. Brad scoffs; Katie's gonna wish for jail by the time he's through with her. He's got an appointment with a divorce lawyer, and he's suing for alimony. Carly laughs, until she realizes he's serious.

Margo returns home and meets Lyla at the front door. She heard Craig had been released and was hoping he would be stopping by later. The two discuss Craig's knack for always getting himself into trouble, but Lyla surprisingly has hope that he's a different man now. Margo smirks that Craig never changes. Katie comes in, fuming over her meeting with Kim and Brad. She hisses that she thinks Carly is behind Brad's sudden attitude change and promises to take it up with the old plug the first time she gets the chance. Later, Lyla meets Casey and Gwen while they shop for Hallie some new clothes. She comments what a cute couple they make, causing both to blush and fumble for words to change the subject. After dropping off Gwen, Casey seems upbeat. When he arrives at his apartment though, he gets a letter from Sofie. Meanwhile, Lyla arrives at Oakdale Memorial for her check-up and gets devastating news from Michael that her cancer has returned.

Carly's about to sit down to dinner with the kids, when someone rings the bell. Coach Donnelly's on the porch, holding Parker's cellphone he forgot at the rink. Parker thanks him profusely, and Carly ends up inviting him to stay and eat with them. He accepts, provided they start calling him "Mac", and not "Coach". Off the ice, at least. He regales them with stories of his days playing semi-pro hockey, making everyone laugh. When they say goodnight, Carly realizes there's no car outside, and offers to call Mac a cab. He says that's not necessary. He's rented the house at the end of the block.

Holden helps calm Lily as she still tries to process that her mother had a past that she never knew about. She knows there's more to the story, but doubts Lucinda will ever spill. Holden brings up the sore subject of Craig and Lily groans that she was just helping a friend. Later, Lily sneaks out when Craig calls her. He recalls that he hired Rohan back in Barbados, but only to throw them off of his tracks. He appreciated Lily looking for him, but wasn't sure if James was following them. Disappointed that he didn't trust her enough to let her know he was okay, Craig smirks that that's why he left his watch. Smiling, she digs for the watch in her purse and hands it back to him. He tells her to keep it...as a souvenir.

Parker finds a video message from Jack in his inbox. He wishes all of them a happy new year, and tells them how much he misses them. He promises to keep in touch the best he can, but his job is keeping him on the move. After the kids are in bed, Carly checks her own account, and finds an email from Jack. It's simply a beautiful picture of Iguazu Falls. As Carly touches the screen, we see Jack in bed somewhere. He rolls over in the dark and quietly whispers... "I love you, Carly."

Alison comforts Dusty over the demise of his and Emily's engagement. Dusty gets so drunk that he needs help getting home and Alison agrees to drive. Once at the house, Dusty gets up to go in, but stumbles. Alison picks him up and he pulls her into a kiss. Remembering the hell that it caused them both last time, Alison scolds Dusty and sends him to bed. When Aaron confronts her about smelling like alcohol, she explains that she had to drive Dusty home after he got too drunk, neglecting to mention the drunken kiss. Across town, Susan agrees to let Emily stay with her for a while. She goes to Dusty's to get her things and in his drunken stupor, he mistakes her for Alison, returning to finish what they started. Upset, Emily slaps Dusty and throws a few things together before storming off, ignoring Dusty's comments that she's jumping to conclusions. Later, Emily angrily confronts Aaron and tells him that she thought he should know that Dusty and Alison slept together again.

As they finish the last one touting "ways to keep your new year's resolutions", Brad motions to a man in the back of the stage. With the tape still rolling, the man serves Katie with divorce papers. Stunned, Katie starts reading through them, and stops when she gets to Brad's demand for $10,000 a month in alimony. Chaos erupts as she attacks him, and two security guards have to restrain her.

Days later, Holden learns that Emma kicked Clark out and reiterates her sentiments that the man can't be trusted.

After negotiating a new salary, Carrie agrees to look after the new project but after it wraps, she's quitting. Barbara agrees to her terms. Days later, Carrie runs into Will in Old Town and he asks her not to take the kiss seriously; they got caught up in the moment. That's all. Carrie smirks that she knows that it didn't mean anything. Katie wakes up, startled at the sound of a truck door slamming. She raises up and notices Lyla's already at her feet. Katie recalls that Margo went to the station to check on a lead on Michael; and Brad had went with her, vowing to return the moment they found out anything. Katie got up and rushed to the door, joining her mother. "I thought you weren't concerned about Michael," Katie muttered. Lyla explained that she's not, but she would like to know he's alright. He's probably in some cheap motel room or something, Lyla guessed. Just then, Brad emerged from the doorway and asked to speak to the ladies on the couch. Sensing the serious air about him, Katie feared the worst. With a firm look on his face, Brad reported that Michael hasn't been found yet, but they did find Doris...stabbed to death at her house.

A car whooshes by and almost runs off the road trying to avoid a haggard looking Michael stumbling along on the side of the highway. Out of breath, he takes a seat on an old stump and collects his thoughts. Why did Doris let him go so easily, he wonders. She had to have some ulterior motive. An absence from his wrist makes him double check his attire. Huffing, he notices one of his new monogrammed cufflinks missing. Knowing where it is, Michael groans and almost chuckles at the instinctive thought of going to retrieve it. "She might have let me go the first time, but going back just to get a stinking cufflink would be the end all that ends all", he quietly chuckles. Getting up to continue walking, he watches a cop car speed by. He ducks into the bushes, afraid of Margo possibly seeing him like this. He grimaces at the thought of Lyla, Katie, and Margo's questions if they were to ever learn he was caught by a policeman walking on the side of the road in the middle of the night. This is all an experience he'd much rather pretend never happened. After a while, he notices another cop car speed by and heads towards a bush. Before he can budge, the car screetches to a halt and a bright light shines on his face. "Michael Peretti?" the officer inquires. "Yes", he hesitantly answers. "I think you need to come with me," the cop announces.

Kevin signs his name and grins at the nurse before turning to face Luke. He's ecstatic to be out of this hellhole, he declares to Luke. Luke smiles and suggests he take his friend home. "No, you've been extremely gracious. I can't. I just can't", Kevin explains. Not taking no for an answer, the two load up in Luke's car and drive off. Kevin shrugs that Luke can just drop him off at the dorm, but Luke explains it's not a good night for his friend to stay alone. "Come with me to the farm", he says. Kevin agrees, but after a while of silence, he starts to change his mind. Luke pulls the car over and lectures Kevin that he was just in a bad accident and he left against the doctor's wishes. They wanted him to stay another night, he reminds. Kevin finally sighs and nods his approval. At Emma's, Luke starts to apologize for the things he said to Kevin the other night, but Kevin cuts him off and heads to bed, citing he's too tired to talk. Emma sympathizes with Luke, but points out that Kevin might need some time to himself. Luke can't believe what a douche he was to Kevin, but he thought he could work things out with Noah. Taking his hand, Emma tells her grandson that he needs to decide who he'd rather be with. Noah or Kevin?
