  4. Al Calderon, who recently exited “Days of our Lives” as Javi Hernandez, is set to make his debut on NBC’s “Brilliant Minds” as Nurse Nico Silva, beginning with the show’s Monday, October 20 episode, titled “Once Upon a Time in America.” Inspired by the extraordinary life and work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, “Brilliant Minds” follows Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto), a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health. As Nurse Silva, Calderon’s character is described as the Mayor of Bronx General. With his ability to run the hospital while looking good doing it, his warm, funny and outgoing charm may or may not be the reason why he knows everything about everyone at work. According to an episode description released by the network, two patients arrive in critical condition, leaving Dr. Wolf and Dr. Josh Nichols (Teddy Sears) to do whatever it takes to keep them alive. Ahead of Calderon’s first episode, NBC has released sneak peek photos of the actor working alongside his co-stars, including Quinto, Sears and Aury Krebs as Dr. Dana Dang, among others. “Brilliant Minds” was created by Michael Grassi, who also serves as writer and executive producer. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Melissa Aouate, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra also executive produce. Berlanti Productions, Fabel Entertainment, The Imaginarium, Grassi Productions and Tavala produce in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. “Brilliant Minds” airs at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, following “The Voice.” Check out the photos of Calderon in “Brilliant Minds” below. No details on whether the daytime drama series had successfully recast the role. Meanwhile, Calderson is slated to continue airing through at least May 2026 due to the show’s advanced tape-to-air schedule. Watch the “Come Get It” music video below. 8. Week two of the 2025-2026 television season saw most shows up week-to-week in the key sales demographics across daytime broadcast. Meanwhile, among Total Viewers, “Beyond the Gates,” “The Young and the Restless” and “NBC News Daily” were the only programs to see week-to-week increases. During the week of September 29-October 3, 2025, “The Price is Right” remained on top with both half-hours seeing the largest week-to-week gains across the board, up +0.05 for the second half-hour and +0.04 for the first half-hour among Women 18-49, and up +0.04 each among Women 25-54. Elsewhere, the second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” saw a minor uptick of +0.01 among Women 18-49, while the first half-hour remained flat with one week earlier. Among Women 25-54, the second half-hour was up +0.03 week-to-week (0.37 rating vs. 0.34 rating) and up +0.02 year-over-year (0.37 rating vs. 0.35 rating). The second half-hour ranked third in both demos. “The View” continued to perform well for ABC, ranking among the top five highest-rated shows in Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 every week since the launch of Season 29 (Week of September 8-12, 2025). In fact, the talk show is the only daytime broadcast series to see year-over-year growth every single week since its premiere. The veteran ranked fourth among Women 18-49 with a 0.21 rating, flat with the previous week and up +0.02 year-over-year. Meanwhile, among Women 25-54, the program tied with “The Bold and the Beautiful” for fifth place, each with a 0.32 rating. “The View” was up +0.01 week-to-week and +0.03 year-over-year. Despite being preempted for three consecutive days due to ABC’s coverage of Major League Baseball Wild Card Series games (Playoffs), “General Hospital” managed to hold up relatively well among Total Viewers for the two original episodes that aired. The long-running series averaged 1.902 million viewers, down -95,000 viewers week-to-week. Demographically, things were a bit confusing. In markets not impacted by the games, which started after 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT, repeats of “General Hospital” aired. While Nielsen appears to have factored the repeat broadcasts into the show’s weekly average among Women 18-49 (0.10 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.14 rating), resulting in the daytime soap opera ranking last across daytime broadcast, its result among Total Viewers indicates Nielsen did exclude the show in part, particularly with its performance among Households (1.2 rating) and viewers as the show remained on par with recent averages. Take that for what you will. Wrap-Up What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of September 29-October 3, 2025 among Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including week-to-week and year-over-year comparisons. Note*: Figures under the 2024 column for “Beyond the Gates” are compared to the performance of the former time slot occupant, “The Talk.” “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” is compared with the performance of its predecessor, “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.” Meanwhile, “GMA3” is compared with the performance of its predecessor, “GMA3: What You Need to Know.” Last Week and 2024 columns are based on Nielsen Panel-only data. Comparisons under the 2024 column among Households and Total Viewers were unavailable to this publication for most daytime broadcast shows until at least February 2025. “General Hospital” aired Wild Card Series games during the same week in 2024 (Week of September 28-October 2, 2025). The network will no longer carry game coverage after the 2025 season. Week of September 29-October 3, 2025 Rankers Women 18-49 Rating Rank / Show / NetworkThis WeekLast Week2024*1. 9. It's supposed to be three hours, but I expect it to be four or five hours, though, since there are no commercials, I would think it will be more in line with four hours in length. They won't share the order of when the categories will be announced. I presume it'll be scattered as it wouldn't make sense to share that information, nor should they start with the creatives and then reveal the major categories that fans actually care about and are tuning in for later on. Note: This is not me being rude about the matter. It's just a fact. Fans only care about what they see on screen, not the behind-the-scenes stuff.
  10. “Out of Order,” a new madcap legal comedy starring Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns,” “One Life to Live”), will open the 2025 edition of The Chelsea Film Festival on Wednesday, October 15 in New York City. Directed by Guy Jacobson and co-written by Jacobson and Megan Freels Johnston, the film follows the story of John Slater (Routh), a disheveled young lawyer who tries to win back his glamorous ex by landing a job at a high-powered law firm, only to end up representing both sides of the same lawsuit, in disguise. A dizzying dual-identity farce involving secret aliases, fake mustaches, and a pharmaceutical giant with plenty to hide features Routh in a comedic tour de force with standout performances by co-stars Brooke Shields and Sam Huntington. In addition to Routh, Shields and Huntington, the ensemble cast includes Luis Guzmán, Michael Potts, Sandra Bernhard, Tao Okamoto, Krysta Rodriguez and Asher Grodman, among others. Routh also serves as a producer on the film. “’Out of Order’ was born from my years in Big Law,” said Jacobson. “It’s a return to the kind of physical, character-driven comedy we don’t see enough of today, part ‘My Cousin Vinny,’ part ‘Mrs. Doubtfire,’ with a dash of ‘Office Space’ and a sprinkle of ‘A Fish Called Wanda.’ I wanted to make something gloriously ridiculous but grounded in real emotion.” In addition to “Out of Order,” Routh recently starred in the Joseph Kahn-directed “ICK” at TIFF and reprised his role as Todd Ingram in “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off,” the animated TV series, which is a sequel to the 2010 cult classic film “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.” “Out of Order” is produced by Intrinsic Value Films (Isen Robbins & Aimee Schoof), Island View Productions (B. Stephen Tedeschi Jr.), Smokestack Films (Chris Bongirne), and Business Lunch Productions (Jesse Manning & Katy Donnelly), with Luis Guzmán and Cemí Guzmán serving as executive producers, among others. The film was shot and edited by Matt Braunsdorf, with music supervision by Lisa Hammer, and a score composed by Eric V. Hachikian. “Comedy is the best way to survive the chaos,” said Isen Robbins. “We built this film around that idea, giving great actors room to be fearless, funny, and human.” Check out the newly released film poster below. 11. ABC’s annual coverage of the Wild Card series games, which has forced the network to preempt “General Hospital” in recent years, is now a thing of the past. In a deal first signed in 2021, the Walt Disney Company-owned ESPN/ABC and Major League Baseball mutually agreed to end their original seven-year deal earlier than anticipated, with games from the 2025 season being the last to be broadcast on either network. Valued at $550 million annually, the parties opted out of continuing the deal, which was to run through 2028, with MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred sending a sternly worded letter to team owners back in February, stating the organization has “not been pleased with the minimal coverage that MLB has received on ESPN’s platforms over the past several years outside of the actual live game coverage.” The contract included 30 regular-season games, the Wild Card series, and the Home Run Derby. “Good news, this is the last year of the contract, we won’t be interrupted by games next fall,” commented Nathan Varni, who serves as Executive Director, Drama Programming, ABC and Hulu, with oversight over “General Hospital” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” among other programming. Since the deal was first initiated, “General Hospital” has seen some of its worst ratings in modern history during Wild Card game weeks, which typically start in the final days of September or the first couple of days in October, and preempts the long-running soap opera for upwards of three consecutive days, with the third day contingent on the outcome of Game 2. During the week of September 29-October 3, 2025, the most recent week in which daytime broadcast ratings are available, “General Hospital” aired just two original episodes, with the soap opera preempted on the other three days. ABC carried Games 1 and 2 between the National League San Diego Padres and the Chicago Cubs, with the Cubs victorious 3-1 on Tuesday, September 30. Game 2 on Wednesday, October 1 saw the Padres win 3-0. On Thursday, October 2, the deciding game aired on ESPN, with ABC instead carrying Game 3 between the American League Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians. Ratings Impact In markets not impacted by the games, which started after 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT, repeats of “General Hospital” aired. Unfortunately, despite the anticipated preemptions, the repeat broadcasts were factored into the weekly average, with the daytime soap opera ranking last among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54. Among Women 18-49, the soap opera averaged a 0.10 rating, down -44% compared to its performance one week earlier (0.10 rating vs. 0.18 rating) and -37.5% year-over-year (0.10 rating vs. 0.16 rating). Meanwhile, among Women 25-54, the show was down -44% week-to-week and year-over-year (0.14 rating vs. 0.25 rating). “GMA3” ABC “GMA3,” which was able to exclude the MLB preemptions from its weekly average, ranked 12th in both categories, with a 0.12 rating among Women 18-49 and a 0.15 rating among Women 25-54, both of which were generally in line with the news program’s regular averages. The weekly average for “General Hospital” is based on five days (Monday through Friday), while “GMA3” is based on two days (Monday and Friday). “The View,” which was not impacted by baseball preemptions, continued to perform well for ABC four weeks into Season 29. Ranking fourth among Women 18-49 (0.21 rating) and tied for fifth among Women 25-54 (0.32 rating), the daytime talk show is the only daytime broadcast series this season to see year-over-year growth among the key sales demographics every week since its premiere. 12. Married in March 2025, “The Young and the Restless” star Bryton James (Devon Winters) has filed for divorce from his wife, Jahaira James, citing irreconcilable differences. According to TMZ, which first reported the news, James filed on Monday in Los Angeles, stating the couple has been separated since June and that the court terminate either party’s ability to be awarded spousal support. Further, he’s requesting that Jahaira’s name be restored to her former name upon their divorce being finalized. A professional dancer, Jahaira performed with Beyoncé during her highly successful “Cowboy Carter” tour, and previously performed with the Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group in Las Vegas. In a since-deleted Instagram post shared earlier this year that included photos of Jahaira dancing at one of the Beyoncé concerts, James captioned the post, saying, “What you’re looking at is the culmination of a lifetime of work, discipline, dedication, strength, bravery, and belief that my love, Jahaira, continues to exude. Her journey is what inspiration wants to be when it grows up. And I am beyond proud to be a witness to her art as we share this life together.” “Sharing this life and this stage with you is the greatest gift,” responded Jahaira in the comments of James’ post. “Thank you for seeing me the way you do.” This is the second marriage for James, who was previously married to Ashley Leisinger. The couple was wed on March 16, 2011, in a ceremony officiated by his co-star from “The Young and the Restless,” Christian Le Blanc (Michael Baldwin). They divorced in 2014. “My ex-wife and I are still very good friends and I’m glad I got the opportunity to be married,” James told Soap Opera Digest the same year he divorced Leisinger. “It was a great experience and I learned a lot from it.” Appearing in a 2021 episode of “State of Mind with Maurice Benard,” the podcast series hosted by Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos, “General Hospital”), James told Benard at the time, “I don’t think I would get married again because I have different ideas about the institution of marriage and where it comes from and what it’s about.” Joining the CBS soap opera in 2004, the actor has won two Daytime Emmy Awards for his performance as Devon Winters, including Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2007 and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2020. In addition to “The Young and the Restless,” James is also known for his iconic role as Richie Crawford (aka “Little Richie”) on the long-running ABC sitcom “Family Matters.” Note: The post ‘The Young And The Restless’ Star Bryton James Files For Divorce From Wife Jahaira, Cites Irreconcilable Differences first appeared on Soap Opera Network. 13. The sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation lawsuit filed by former “Days of our Lives” cast member Arianne Zucker (ex-Nicole Walker) has been settled, though the terms were not disclosed. Named in the lawsuit were Corday Productions, Inc., which produces the daytime drama series, former executive producer Albert Alarr, and executive producer Ken Corday. First filed in February 2024, the lawsuit alleged Zucker was “subjected to nonconsensual sexual touching and sexually harassing comments during Alarr’s employment — claiming Alarr would frequently pull her close to his chest and make sexual moans while doing so.” Additionally, while filming, “Alarr would make sexually suggestive remarks” and allegedly tell male “costars filming sex scenes with her that he would ‘love to switch positions’ with them.” Further, Alarr allegedly “made it clear he enjoyed aggressive sex scenes.” According to the Los Angeles Times, which first reported news of the settlement, the filing date was Thursday, October 9, in Los Angeles County Superior Court, with no further details about the settlement provided. Meanwhile, Alarr’s attorney denied the allegations brought against their client and said Alarr settled solely to “end the dispute and move forward.” “She stood up for herself and others in an industry where speaking out about harassment often comes at great personal cost,” said Zucker’s attorney, Anahita Sedaghatfar, in a statement. “She is pleased that the matter has been resolved and hopes her courage helps drive accountability and lasting change within the entertainment industry.” Zucker was one of the only contract cast members to informally speak out in the summer of 2023 when allegations against Alarr became public, which eventually led to the producer’s firing. In line with a report by Deadline, Zucker noted in her lawsuit that Alarr’s behavior had become “well-known to other producers … claiming multiple women went to Corday Production Inc. over the years but the company allegedly did nothing.” After meeting with the show’s co-producer, Sony Pictures Television and its HR department between March 2023 and June 2023, wherein an investigation had been underway with several cast members and employees called in to discuss allegations brought against Alarr, Zucker’s lawsuit noted Alarr was allowed to continue in his role as the show’s then co-executive producer, something which left Zucker feeling “violated and intimidated.” By August 2023, Alarr had been fired and Janet Drucker replaced him as the show’s co-executive producer, a move Zucker claimed was a move to “save face” after the allegations became public. By October 2023, Zucker’s suit claims she attempted to negotiate a new contract with Corday Productions in “good faith.” The production company allegedly gave her a “take it or leave it” offer, which Zucker didn’t accept. By January 2024, Zucker’s contract had expired without a new deal being made, leaving the actress effectively without a job. While declining comment to the Times, Corday Productions previously released a statement to the outlet, saying Zucker’s claims were “without merit” and that the actress was offered an increase in pay while being given an offer to renew her contract. Further, at the time complaints surfaced about Alarr’s alleged on-set behavior, the company “promptly investigated” and “fully cooperated with the impartial investigation and subsequently terminated Mr. Alarr.” Zucker’s lawsuit included claims of “harassment, discrimination, retaliation, negligent hiring and supervision, and wrongful termination,” among others. She had been seeking unspecified damages. 14. Singer and actor Michael Damian, who portrays Danny Romalotti on “The Young and the Restless,” will perform an acoustic version of his new single, “Let Me Into Your Heart,” on the Monday, October 20 episode of the CBS daytime drama series. Released earlier this month, the song was written and produced by Grammy Award-winning hitmakers Larry and Tom Weir and is the first track to be released from Damian’s highly anticipated upcoming album. The “intimate acoustic performance” is part of a special storyline moment in which Damian appears as his alter ego on the soap opera, sharing the stage with cast members in a heartfelt musical sequence. “I’m so excited to share ‘Let Me Into Your Heart’ with everyone,” said Damian. “It’s a song about love, hope, and connection, and performing it on ‘The Young and the Restless’ with the cast makes it even more meaningful.” With a career spanning music, television, film, and theater, Damian is a Grammy-nominated performer who rose to fame in the 1980s playing Danny Romalotti on “The Young and the Restless,” a role that made him a household name and earned him a devoted worldwide fan base. As a recording artist, Damian achieved international success with his cover of “Rock On,” which soared to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned him multiple Gold records, along with international acclaim. Outside of acting, his TV and film work includes roles as director, writer, and producer, among others. Thus far, he’s helmed more than a dozen feature films, including the Netflix global hit “Falling for Christmas,” starring Lindsay Lohan (“Freaky Friday,” “Mean Girls”), and, more recently, he produced “The Wrong Paris,” starring Miranda Cosgrove (“iCarly”) and Pierson Fodé (“The Bold and the Beautiful”), which reached #1 on the Netflix global chart last month. Showcasing his versatility and passion for storytelling through music, while combining timeless pop-rock sensibilities with heartfelt emotion, “Let Me Into Your Heart” is available now on all major streaming platforms. 15. If/when an All My Children reboot were to occur, I'd love it if they centered the introductory story on the Brooke English/English family heritage. Other than JR, she's the closest tie to the Chandler family legacy and it would be great to have her continue it in story. Obviously, Erica and her brood would be the primary focus, but I think Brooke would be a good counter. Don't know what the heck they were thinking to focus the last "reboot" on the Kane vs. Santos families. That wasn't a thing past the 90s.

  18. Over the summer, “Beyond the Gates” executive producers Michele Val Jean and Sheila Ducksworth promised a “hot male” was coming to Fairmont Crest, and Soap Opera Network can now confirm that veteran soap star Greg Vaughan is that individual. Although character details are being kept under wraps at this time, a rep for the show notes Vaughan is set to join the cast of the daytime drama series this season. “I think the soap opera world will be very, very happy about [the casting]. And it’s a male,” said Val Jean, who also serves as creator, showrunner and head writer, on the casting while speaking with Deadline in celebration of the show’s 100th episode, which aired on July 29. Ducksworth echoed Val Jean’s comments, noting, “I can’t say who just yet, but I will say longtime soap fans all know and love him!” Vaughan made his television debut in 1996 with roles on such shows as "Baywatch," "Malibu Shores," and "Beverly Hills, 90210." From there, he appeared in episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Love Boat: The Next Wave," "Mortal Kombat: Conquest," "Legacy," "Any Day Now," "Charmed," "Will & Grace," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," "Still Standing and "Nash Bridges," among others. He began his daytime career in 2002 when he appeared as Diego Guittierez on "The Young and the Restless." By 2003, he was cast as Lucky Spencer on "General Hospital." In 2012, Salem welcomed Vaughan as Eric Brady on "Days of our Lives," a role he would continue to portray off and on until earlier this year. He received his first-ever Daytime Emmy nomination for his portrayal in 2018 in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category. From 2016-2022, Vaughan appeared as Calvin in the Ava DuVernay-created series "Queen Sugar" opposite Rutina Wesley ("True Blood"), who played Nova Bordelon. While their romance wasn't the central focus of the series, fans enjoyed the romance that was built over the show's multi-season run on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. 19. You may know him as Charlie Dale on “Days of our Lives” or Caleb McKinnon on “The Bay,” but as Bradley “Smitty” Smith on “Beyond the Gates,” two-time Emmy Award winner Mike Manning is making waves as one half of the first interracial gay married couple in daytime, while at the same time making a name for himself behind the camera as a writer/producer working alongside the likes of Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, among others. In his latest project, the film “Unexpected Treasures,” Manning takes on the role of Sam, a charming alien fugitive who links up with Hartley (Olivia Blue), a down-on-her-luck desert dweller as they race to outrun an alien bounty hunter, while at the same time unlocking ancient prophecies, and discovering that true connections often come from the most unexpected places. Manning talks about the film in a conversation with Soap Opera Network as part of our new video series, “Soapsline,” including how he got involved, his role as executive producer, working with his co-stars, filming in Joshua Tree, and even had time to discuss his role on “Beyond the Gates,” revealing he originally auditioned for the role of Derek before eventually landing the role of Smitty. “I became an executive producer after the fact,” Manning said early on in our discussion, noting he was initially just hired as an actor for the film, which shot in Joshua Tree in April 2024. “At the time, I was living in California. I’ve since then moved to Atlanta for ‘Beyond the Gates,’ which is your background. I always love shooting around where I live because then I don’t have to get on a plane. It’s easier. I read the script, and in the script, Sam, my character, he’s an alien, but he’s so kind and he’s benign. He’s loyal. He’s earnest. He’s just a beautiful creature. And it felt really good.” Desert Fishbowl, LLC Explaining that he has played more villain-type characters throughout his career, Manning shares, he’s happy to play a good guy for a change. “I was looking to play a good guy, and it felt really good to sort of embody Sam. He also has telepathy powers, which my seven-year-old comic book Sci-Fi self was really excited about. Throughout the course of the movie, he’s trying to get back to his spaceship. He meets Hartley, played by Olivia Blue, who was fantastic — she’s a Joshua Tree local. She helps him get back to his spaceship, and along the way, he sort of restores her faith in humanity.” Like several alien movies before it, particularly 1982’s “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Unexpected Treasures” sees Sam seeking to make his way home after spending time on Earth, though he doesn’t have a spaceship to get him there. Instead, he has a teleportation device, something which the film makes a joke of in the dialogue. “They say spaceship in the film, but he’s actually trying to get back to his teleportation device, so because he doesn’t have a spaceship, they kind of make a joke in the film, like, ‘Not everybody has a spaceship. What are you, what are you talking about? They’re expensive.’ And so yeah, it’s, it’s exactly like that,” Manning says. “I mean, growing up, when I saw [Steven] Spielberg‘s ‘E.T.,’ it was one of the movies that made me believe in the magic of movie-making and want to be in this industry. You had the Ron Howard film, ‘Cocoon,’ and you had ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind.’ You had so many of these alien movies from the 1980s that were beautiful and adventure films and family films, and that’s very much what this movie is. People go into this movie wanting ‘Alien’ with Ripley and the Xenomorphs, and that’s not what this movie is [laughs].” In addition to Manning and Blue, the cast includes Michael Dunn (“Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2”) as Frank, a fervent believer in UFO theory and alien existence; AnnaMaria Demara (“War of the Worlds: Extinction”) as June, a resilient mom making up for lost time; and Jay Whitaker (“The Orville,” “Let’s Go To Prison”) as The Bad Guy, the film’s menacing antagonist. To see/hear what else Manning has to say about “Unexpected Treasures” and “Beyond the Gates,” watch our full interview below. For more information about the film, visit the official website. 23. “Beneath The Light,” the psychological thriller from writer/director John Baumgartner and starring soap alum Zach Tinker (“Days of our Lives,” “The Young and the Restless”), has officially received a release date. On Friday, Vision Films, the leading independent sales and VOD aggregator specializing in the licensing, marketing, and distribution of over 800 feature films, documentaries, and series from some of the most prolific independent film producers in the world, announced the film will be available on streaming and cable platforms across the US and Canada followed by DVD at online retailers on Tuesday, October 14. The film will also have a day-and-date release in the UK. Vision Films “Beneath the Light” follows an isolated, haunted lighthouse that is only reachable by boat, which becomes the battleground for a young man (Tinker) who takes a job repairing it. When the surly owner leaves him alone for lengthy periods of time, his feelings of isolation and uneasiness grow, and he is forced to come to grips with the mistakes of his past or risk losing his sanity forever. “This is an intense thriller with a shocking twist that draws you into the central character’s dilemma from the very first scene. What is real and what is imagined? ‘Beneath The Light’ will keep you guessing until the very end,” said Lise Romanoff, CEO and Managing Director of Vision Films. Co-written and produced by Dr. Cindy Davis Seng, a psychiatrist at the Cleveland Clinic, and filmed entirely on location in and around Lorain, Ohio, including the town’s iconic 108-year-old Lorain Lighthouse on Lake Erie, a local red carpet premiere for “Beneath The Light” took place at The Palace in Lorain on September 6, and is said to have inspired a murder mystery game and novelization. “Cindy and I set out to create a terrifying thriller rooted in horror, but with a core theme of redemption and healing from trauma not typically associated with the genre. We’re especially thrilled with the film’s unexpected twist, which ties the mystery together in a way audiences will find surprising and satisfying,” shared filmmaker John Baumgartner. In addition to Tinker, the film also stars John Pyper-Ferguson (“Suits”), Ana Nicolle Chavez (“The Rookie”), Kieran Sitawi (“The Starling Girl”) and Jennifer Ruth (“Spotlight”).
