  1. Early Tuesday morning, the Twitter account belonging to Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis, “General Hospital”) was hacked and began posting racist and anti-government rhetoric. Along with updating the profile image to something resembling a shirtless and buffed-up Donald Trump with pro-Trump postings, the hacker also changed Grahn’s profile description, which read, “If Trump has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Trump has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Trump has only one fan then that is me.” Without question, it was obvious the posts didn’t come from the actress. The hack reportedly occurred at around 4:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, June 20, with the hacker’s first tweet stating, “the @FBI is after me, they deleted my pinned tweet and are currently investigating me… im scared for my life, someone please help me, i don’t know what todo!” That tweet received over 37,000 views at the time a screengrab was pulled by Soap Opera Network earlier today. Another tweet, claiming Grahn had quit “General Hospital,” also received a significant amount of views. It stated, “no longer apart of @GeneralHospital. im sorry to all the fans this may upset, but i feel like its time to move onto bigger and better things – nancy.” In a later tweet, the hacker used the N-word to indicate they are back posting after attempting to assure fans they were Grahn, who had seemingly just gotten the account back, while blaming Twitter user @WubsNet for the hack itself. “hey everyone! I’m sorry about all the tweets from earlier, my account was hacked by @WubsNet and i just got it back. Deleting the tweets now, but it may take awhile,” the tweet read just before the N-word tweet was posted by the hacker. A tweet published at 6:05 p.m. EDT seems to indicate that Grahn has regained access to her Twitter account (@NancyLeeGrahn). In the post, Grahn says, “Hi friends, regrettably & quite obviously my account was recently hacked & I sincerely apologize for any harmful rhetoric that was shared without my consent.” At press time, the real Grahn’s tweet has been viewed just over 15,000 times. Additionally, the profile image for the account has returned to one resembling Grahn, and the racist, anti-government and pro-Trump tweets have since been deleted. In response to the real Grahn’s tweet on regaining her account, Twitter user @Rb33399 said, “I thought you were leaving GH and I was very upset.” Grahn responded to the tweet, saying, “I would never do that to you… or me.” Yvette Nicole Brown, who appeared on “General Hospital” as a Nurse to help celebrate the life of her real-life friend, the late Sonya Eddy (Epiphany Johnson), helped lead the charge in fans informing Twitter of Grahn’s hacked account so that the actress could get her account back. In a tweet, Brown said, “Dear @GeneralHospital and fans of Nancy Lee Grahn, please report her page as hacked. No tweets originating from her page right now are actually from her. Please help her get control back. And yes I know with the current ownership this hacking may be by design.” Welcome back, Nancy and thank you, Yvette! 2. Get ready for a paranormal experience when actor Daniel Hall (ex-Scott Grainger, “The Young and the Restless”) appears in the new film “Oblivious,” which follows a couple struggling to accept the return of a terminal illness. When Claire (Vanessa Lauren Gamble) is informed that cancer has returned after 15 years, she and her husband, Collin (Robert Michael), return to her family’s cabin for a weekend of solitude before beginning her treatment. While at the cabin, paranormal forces help guide them to find peace within their terrifying reality. Of course, when Claire’s fear leads her down an unfortunate path, poor judgment leads to an even more terrifying outcome. Hall appears as Collins’s best friend, Johnny, who attempts to comfort his friend as he tries to find peace with what is happening. “Daniel is pure magic, he easily combines the warm and cool tones of his character and provides much needed sensitivity to Collin,” says the film’s executive producer Diana Maiocco in a statement shared with Soap Opera Network. “There was no other actor that could have created the working chemistry as Daniel Hall. His relaxed, laid back, warm demeanor was essential to this film and we are so honored to have him join us! I believe his time on ‘The Young and the Restless’ really helped because the demands of a soap actor are GREAT. He is a wonderful actor, well trained, and a blessing to our TV movie.” Following its premiere on local station KVVB out of Los Angeles on Monday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m. PDT, the film will have a limited theatrical release and will be available on streaming soon after. “Oblivious” also stars Naomi Grossman and Nikki Blonsky. Executive producers are Diana Maiocco, Hayden Conner Ashworth, Nicole Gordon-Levitt, Andy O’Riley and Robert Michael. Watch the film’s trailer below. Thank you @festivaltvmonte_carlo for a great trip! Loved being there with this A team,” said Khalil in a post on Instagram, referring to co-stars Byrton James (Devon Hamilton), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) and Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman), who were also in attendance. “Lots of laughs, blisters on our feet, and ate enough croissants to supply a bakery. See you next time.” In her post, Khalil shared a video montage highlighting her Monaco experience from the red carpet, the hotel, fan engagement, the food, tourism, and all the fun she and her co-stars had while in the beautiful city. The clip also shows Khalil posing with her hand under her baby bump. Restagno joined Khalil on the trip. 4. In a heartfelt post on Father’s Day, “The Bold and the Beautiful” star Annika Noelle (Hope Logan) announced that she and her fiancé, who she has never named, have parted ways. “Happy Father’s Day ~ while we never got our chance to hold our rainbow, for a brief moment in time we held each other,” Noelle said on Instagram. “And even though we could no longer bear the weight of the losses, you have left a lasting imprint on my heart. Thank you.” She ended her post using the “white heart” emoji, referencing love and affection. Noelle’s post has received nearly 7,000 likes and over 300 comments since it was posted, including one from Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra, “The Young and the Restless”) and “B&B” co-star Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan). “So much love,” said Hope, using two “heart” emojis. “You will get your rainbow one day!!!” responded Gareis, using three “heart” emojis. In October 2021, Noelle published a deeply personal and emotional story about the time she and her fiancé were told they had lost their second child in a matter of months. Her recounting of how she felt and how she was able to cope is detailed in an essay she posted on Glamour magazine’s website. In the post, Noelle says, “I was told the chances of us experiencing another pregnancy loss were slim to none, but sadly, our second attempt unraveled into sorrow and heartache as well,” Noelle reveals. “We lost him at eight weeks. And all the while, I was filming.” “Nobody knew. I came up with excuses for why I couldn’t wear white pants or felt nauseous on set,” Noelle explains. “Fans and news articles speculated whether I was pregnant or just gained weight during quarantine. And once again the storyline called for ceaseless tears when I felt like I had no more to give. I guess looking back at it now, I was scared to jinx anything. I didn’t want people to know and have things not work out. And yet I wish I had because I would have given anything to have the understanding and support of the cast and crew. I felt so alone.” To read more about what Noelle has to say, and how she was able to handle the pressure of keeping her secret a secret for as long as she did, make sure to read the full essay here. Soap Opera Digest first reported the split. Note: The post ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Star Annika Noelle Announces Split from Fiancé appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Read More
  5. Cody Longo, a rising Hollywood actor who made a name for himself playing Eddie Duran in the Nick at Nite original series “Hollywood Heights,” died earlier this year in what was at the time presumed by family to be the result of his continued alcohol use. Four months later, a medical examiner has officially ruled the former “Days of our Lives” actor died of hard drinking, reports TMZ. According to the outlet which obtained Longo’s autopsy report, Longo’s cause of death was “chronic ethanol abuse,” and his manner of death was natural. Further, TMZ says, the late actor’s “body was decomposing when he was found dead … and the death scene was littered with alcohol bottles.” In February, the 34-year-old was found dead in bed by police at his residence in Austin, Texas after his wife, Stephanie, called in a welfare check. When they couldn’t get a response, police kicked down the door and later found the actor in his bedroom. Crystal Chappell, Cody Longo (“Days of our Lives”) Photo by Paul Skipper/JPI Studios In 2011, Longo joined the cast of “Days of our Lives” as Nicholas Alamain, the son of Carly Manning (Crystal Chappell) and Lawrence Alamain (Michael Sabatino). He appeared on the series for just about a month before his character was written out following a writing regime change. Longo later appeared as a guest star in numerous television shows, including “Nashville,” “The Catch,” and “Secrets and Lies,” among others. Besides “Days of our Lives,” his most memorable roles were as Eddie Duran on “Hollywood Heights” across 78 episodes in 2012 and his run as Nicky Russo in the ABC Family series “Make It or Break It.” “He was an amazing father and the best husband. Our whole world is shattered,” said Longo’s wife of her late husband in a statement provided to TMZ at the time of his death. She noted he had been working on his addiction to “fight for his kids.” In addition to his wife, Longo is survived by his three children – a daughter and two young sons. 9. Re-reading the sentence, it actually does say everything ends on June 26. "On Monday, we say "Arrivederci, Roma!'"..., referring to Monday, June 26, but nothing about Bocelli. Now people have pointed out that Bocelli's episode appears from a set, and that's true. One thing I don't know just yet (at this moment) is if he filmed his scenes in Los Angeles or Italy. There are still Rome episodes featured after the remote locations stop airing, btw. They are just filmed on the L.A. set of the show.
  10. According to the original PEOPLE article and what I've received from CBS, everything indicates June 26. That doesn't mean he can't appear for like 2 seconds on Friday, but they are promoting his appearance as June 26. The only exception appears to be in this promo.

  14. On Friday, Soap Opera Network and Deadline published extensive articles about the ongoing WGA strike and how soap opera actors will continue working on their respective shows even with a potential Actors strike looming. In response to Deadline’s piece, “General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) pointed out on Twitter that even though she has some issues with the dueling SAG-AFTRA contracts (TV/Theatrical vs. Network Television Code), she fully supports the WGA strike and voted to authorize a SAG-AFTRA strike should there be one. “I’ve been a member of SAG & Aftra, now SAG/Aftra since 1976. I fully support WGA strike & voted to authorize a SAG/AFTRA strike,” said Grahn over a series of tweets. “It pained me to cross a picket line on Wed. I pulled over & explained that I work under Netcode (a contract I’ve many issues with but must abide by). “We’re required to work regardless of actor strike or be in breach of contract. Daytime actors pay top tier dues (as much as say Ted Lasso cast & Succession cast.) who make infinitely more than us & yet most of us voted to strike due fairness to the greater good & because we believe in Unions. We believe with some exceptions in ours. We believe that what the writers and actors are asking for is correct and just. I stand by the WGA & SAG AFTRA in these current negotiations. And everyday I must go to work, I know that thousands of others cannot while they sacrifice their collective livings for what is right and just. I will continue to post on their behalf & walk with them, because short of that right now, it’s all that I know to do.” The current TV/Theatrical Contract concludes on June 30 and should a deal not be met, SAG-AFTRA has been authorized by its members to strike, effective July 1. The National Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting, also known as the Network Television Code covers morning news shows, talk shows, serials (soap operas), variety, reality, game shows, sports and promotional announcements, including such programs as “Good Morning America,” “Tamron Hall,” “The Young and the Restless,” “Jeopardy,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Voice,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” the Academy Awards and the Super Bowl, among a host of others. The current contract was signed in 2022 (retroactive to July 1, 2021) contract runs through July 2024. Highlights from the contract include: General wage increases of 3% per year retroactive to July 1, 2021, applicable to most rates. A 1% benefit fund contribution rate increase split 60% to the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan and 40% to the AFTRA Retirement Fund. For primetime award shows and entertainment specials, producers are now required to provide transportation to and lodging at broadcast centers in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington, D.C., which are presently exceptions to transportation and lodging obligations for all types of programming. Required lodging or transportation when exhaustion or inclement weather prevent safe driving. Greatly improved nudity and simulated sex provisions that match the achievements made in the 2020 TV/Theatrical Contracts negotiation. Substantial increases for dancers on primetime variety shows and award shows in the extra rehearsal rate (from $30 to $40) and overtime rates (from $45 for primetime variety and $48 for award show rehearsal days to $55 for both), including a new $70 overtime rate for hours in excess of 12 in a day. Notice of authorized rehearsals required to be given to dancers to enable dancers and the union to surface and resolve disputes over whether rehearsals are covered. Singers now receive doubling pay at 50% of the applicable dancer program fee when required to learn “complex choreography.” Where there are more than two weeks of rehearsal for an award show or primetime entertainment special, rehearsal pay is due biweekly instead of after show day. First-ever requirement to pay scale — set at the same as traditional media scale — for promotional announcements made for new media with an additional 15% due for use beyond 13 weeks. First-ever requirement of additional compensation — set at 15% of minimum fee — for reuse beyond 13 weeks of a traditional media promotional announcement reused in new media. Automatic $14 additional compensation for background actors and stand-ins required to work in artificially generated rain or smoke (excluding herbal cigarettes) when not able to wear appropriate swim, surf or snow gear. Stand-in minimum calls significantly increased. According to SAG-AFTRA, the Network Television Code generates more than $200 million a year in covered member earnings and includes programming in nearly all non-primetime and all non-dramatic primetime television, as well as digital media. In response to Grahn’s tweets, user Twitter user @mulligan_steph said, “Thanks for your words of solidarity. I’m a member of Actors Equity, and of IATSE. It would pain me to cross a line, too. Keep raising your voice! Every union voice matters.” User @OrdinaryfoolNJ commented, “AFT1521 stands with the WGA fight!! Our members have walked at Sony in solidarity with the WGA. Whether you can participate or not, glad you’re on the side of unions.” Grahn’s tweets received just under 85,000 combined views at press time. 15. On Monday, June 19, “Days of our Lives” will once again celebrate Juneteenth, the newest federally observed holiday that celebrates the end of slavery, when on June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger announced General Order No. 3, which stated that in accordance with the Emancipation Proclamation, “all slaves are free.” Photo by Jill Johnson/JPI Studios In addition to the holiday celebration, the episode will also mark the one-year wedding anniversary of Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina Carver (Jackée Harry). Returning for the episode are Lamon Archey (Eli Grant), Cameron Johnson (Theo Carver) and Marla Gibbs (Olivia Price) – Archey and Johnson will have extended stays in Salem as Eli and Theo work on locating Abe, who was recently kidnapped by Nurse Whitley (Kim Coles). Eli will also reunite with his other family, including grandmother Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Jackée Harry, Cameron Johnson (“Days of our Lives”) Photo by XJJohnson/JPI Studios Photo by XJJohnson/JPI Studios In an interview featured in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, on newsstands now, Reynolds reveals that Abe is aware he got married on Juneteenth, based on a conversation he had with Chanel (Raven Bowens) while he was in the hospital, but his memory overall is completely blank, even though Nurse Whitley does reveal to him that he has a son and daughter. “It might sound fantastic to him, but, on the other hand, he’s got to fill in the holes and these might be the answers,” says Reynolds. “He just doesn’t know. So he not only has to take what’s presented to him, but also assume it’s fact. He’s not thinking he’s being lied to or something’s off about this, because he has nothing to compare it to.” After having flashes of his wedding day, Abe later accuses Whitley of not being his wife. “Abe starts having little flashbacks and feelings, but he’s not sure if they’re true memories or not,” shares Reynolds. “What he does know is that his wife looks different in these flashbacks, that it’s not her. Also, some of the things she’s saying to him slide in the face of what is current reality. If he’s the mayor, then why are they living in this rathole?” Kim Coles, James Reynolds (“Days of our Lives”) Photo by XJJohnson/JPI Studios Obviously, Whitley has excuses for everything, even when Abe demands to see photos from their wedding day. Whitley claims the album got lost, and when Abe doesn’t buy it, Whitley finds a photo of Abe and Paulina’s wedding day online and photoshops her face over Paulina’s, finally giving Abe enough evidence to believe her lies which leaves him wanting to make things up to her by agreeing to renew “their wedding vows.” Since Whitley is the only person Abe knows at this time, Reynolds says, “Why not cooperate in this meaningless exercise?” He adds, “And Abe is also hoping [by participating] it might make something come back to him. There’s nothing familiar about this woman and this relationship.” Watch a promo for this week’s episodes below. 16. What's odd is that Bocelli isn't appearing until the Monday, June 26 episode, so why promote him in the promo? Unless the Friday episode features him, even if slightly? Just weird to me.
  17. While most daytime talk shows take the summer off and air reruns every weekday, “Live with Kelly and Mark” has chosen to give their fans something special now that school’s out and the sun is shining in much of the country. Featuring never-before-seen content, fantastic theme weeks and special guest co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos will keep viewers entertained all season long. On select days, while the “Live” family is on summer vacation, fans will see a familiar face on screen as the talk show airs never-before-seen host chat and trivia segments featuring Kelly and beloved “Live” family member Ryan Seacrest, along with some of their best celebrity interviews and fun moments from the past year. Meanwhile, select episodes will see Mark welcoming special guest co-hosts, including Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Maria Menounos and more. Ryan Seacrest, Kelly Ripa (“Live with Kelly and Ryan”) Photo by Lorenzo Bevilaqua/ABC On Tuesday, July 4, “Live’s 4th of July Party” will be STAR-STUDDED as Kelly and Mark welcome back Jake Shears, who will perform in the studio, plus actress Nina Dobrev partakes in festive Independence Day games with the hosts and lucky audience members. During “Aches and Pains Week (July 17-21, 2023), the show will provide helpful tips for everyone (as they might be hauling beach chairs on their backs) and more. Will Kelly and Mark cool down from the summer heat with an ice-cold plunge?!? The week will also feature guests, including cast members from the “Barbie” movie – Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae, Simu Liu – plus Steph Curry, and Kevin and Franklin Jonas. During “Live’”s “Dog Days of Summer Week” (July 24-28, 2023), Kelly and Mark learn everything about everyone’s favorite furry friends and showcases new dogs available for adoption. The show will feature some of the many pets that have been adopted by the “Live” family in the studio to help celebrate the occasion. Since adding Mark Consuelos as a co-host in April, “Live with Kelly and Mark” has emerged to become the No. 1 syndicated talk show and No. 1 entertainment talk show across all dayparts. 20. If you are an Xfinity customer who has been receiving Peacock Premium for free, get ready to pay up: Comcast is ending its no extra cost with Xfinity services option for customers, effective June 26, 2023. According to an email notice sent out to customers, “NBCUniversal will no longer include Peacock Premium with your Xfinity service at no extra cost. To re-subscribe to Peacock Premium starting June 26, say ‘Peacock’ into your Voice Remote. “If you re-subscribe through Xfinity between June 26 and August 25, 2023, you’ll receive Peacock Premium at the discounted rate of $2.99/mo for 12 months before being billed at the regular monthly rate.” On the Xfinity FAQ page, the service notes that current customers who do not re-subscribe can get a free sample of Peacock programming, including a selection of shows and movies on demand, as well as a collection of channels. Xfinity members can also sample the first episode of new Peacock Original series and new NBC series. If eligible, customers can re-subscribe to Peacock Premium through a limited-time offer – the aforementioned discounted rate of $2.99/mo for 12 months or other available options. Starting on June 26, 2023, customers will see messaging within the Peacock app on X1 and Flex that Peacock Premium is no longer included at no extra cost with Xfinity services. Customers will be given the opportunity to re-subscribe to Peacock Premium, and a series of prompts will instruct them on how to take advantage of a limited-time offer. As for customers who use Peacock Premium on a third-party device, such as mobile, desktop, tablet or similar, Peacock Premium will no longer be included at no extra cost with Xfinity service. To manage your plan and re-subscribe to Peacock Premium through a limited-time offer by visiting peacocktv.com or through their cable TV Box. To avoid disruption in service for those wanting to keep Peacock Premium, customers should apply the limited-time offer that’ll be sent by email from Peacock. This offer will be available beginning June 26, 2023. Meanwhile, if customers choose not to take advantage of the limited-time offer, they’ll default to the free sample option of Peacock’s programming on June 26, 2023, and will no longer be billed for Premium Plus after such date. For those wanting to know the difference between Peacock Premium and Peacock Premium Plus, the service notes, “Peacock Premium offers access to an ad-supported library of movies, shows, live sports and more. Premium Plus offers access to the same content, but ad-free, plus the ability to stream NBC Local Channels.” ”Days of our Lives” Courtesy of Peacock “Days of our Lives” fans who’ve successfully migrated to Peacock since it became an exclusive to the service last September may continue watching the daytime soap exclusively on the streaming service as they will not be impacted by the change—however, those who receive access to the streamer through their Xfinity service will need to re-subscribe. 21. Doubtful. The idea is to save money, haha.
  22. Receiving a 97.91% approval rate from those who voted (47.69% of eligible voters cast ballots), SAG-AFTRA members earlier this month overwhelmingly supported a potential Actors strike should one be called by union leaders but don’t count on daytime soap actors to be on picket lines in the same fashion as WGA members whose contract expired on Tuesday, May 2. In a post reminding the industry of the distinction between SAG-AFTRA contracts, Deadline points out that the union is currently negotiating with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television (AMPTP) over a new TV/Theatrical Contract that does not impact daytime television, which falls under the National Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting, also known as the Network Television Code. The current TV/Theatrical Contract concludes on June 30 and should a deal not be met, SAG-AFTRA has been authorized by its members to strike, effective July 1. For soap opera actors, their most recent contract was signed in 2022 (retroactive to July 1, 2021) and covers morning news shows, talk shows, serials (soap operas), variety, reality, game shows, sports and promotional announcements. Current programs covered by the contract include the likes of “Good Morning America,” “Tamron Hall,” “The Young and the Restless,” “Jeopardy,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Voice,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” the Academy Awards and the Super Bowl, among a host of others. The contract runs through July 2024. In line with what Soap Opera Network reported earlier today (WGA Strike: ‘General Hospital’ Picketed, Allegations of “Scab” Writing In Progress at Daytime Drama Series), Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports that all four daytime soaps remain in production and are “currently working on new scripts.” She also points out that some of the people who claimed “Fi-Core” status during the 2007/2008 WGA strike remain active writers on daytime soaps. Joining the “Fi-Core” list this year according to an official list published by the WGA includes Sheri Anderson, a former head writer and current story consultant at “Days of our Lives,” Mark Pinciotti, a producer at “The Bold and the Beautiful,” and Michael Minnis, the co-head 2writer of “The Bold and the Beautiful.” When the strike is over, WGA writers returning to their writer’s room will have to adjust their storylines based on the direction taken by the “Fi-Core” writers, which could confuse viewers when material potentially shifts around suddenly when the changes take effect on the air. In the case of “Days of our Lives,” the impact won’t be felt for some time as the show currently tapes six months ahead while “General Hospital,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” are roughly four to six weeks ahead, taping wise. Writing-wise, the material generally goes several weeks before taping commences. To help combat the strike even if slightly, all of the daytime soaps will be taking their traditional summer breaks with some extending it wherever possible to help mitigate any delays in production as they await a resolution to the WGA strike. Deadline reports that with the exception of “The Young and the Restless,” both “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “General Hospital” will be taking off the month of July while “Days of our Lives” will begin its three-week hiatus starting this weekend. No matter what happens, however, all current cast members will be expected to return to work once the extended breaks are over even if there is a SAG-AFTRA strike in progress. Note: The post Potential Actors Strike Won’t Impact Daytime Soaps Due to Separate SAG-AFTRA Contracts appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Read More
  23. What I forgot, and got reminded by in the Deadline article, is that soaps are literally the ONLY productions still running with no hope of shutting down. So why aren't networks producing more of them? If they could care less about a strike impacting their productions, why not go out and produce more of them? They are WAY cheaper to produce than a lot of TV content and don't take as long to edit like reality TV does, particularly with the insertion of those personality comments needed for each high point in a reality storyline. Just a thought.
  24. Earlier this week, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) and NBCUniversal’s Peacock announced a multi-year agreement where Peacock gains exclusive naming rights to AEG’s L.A. LIVE Theater and Outdoor Plaza beginning Tuesday, July 11. The service will also become the exclusive streaming partner of the four million-square-foot Downtown L.A. Sports and Entertainment District. As part of the rebrand to Peacock, the 7,100-seat concert and special events venue, formerly known as Microsoft Theater, will be named Peacock Theater, and the entertainment district’s 40,000 square-foot open-air plaza, formerly known as XBOX Plaza, will be known as Peacock Place. The agreement, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, strategically aligns the brands and establishes Peacock as the exclusive streaming partner of L.A. LIVE. “Like Peacock, L.A. LIVE is at the epicenter of premium original entertainment, exhilarating sports, one-of-a-kind experiences and extreme fandom,” said Kelly Campbell, President of Peacock, and Direct-to-Consumer, NBCUniversal. “Through Peacock Theater and Peacock Place, we’ll have the opportunity to bring all the elements of our brand to life with the millions of fans who visit L.A. LIVE each year, while partnering with the incredible team at AEG to further cement Peacock as the ultimate destination for audiences.” “We are ecstatic for the opportunity to be able to partner with the amazing leadership team at Peacock for this long-term relationship,” said Nick Baker, Chief Operating Officer of AEG Global Partnerships. “The content within the Peacock platform is ideal for our audiences and the synergies between both organizations around our variety of events is limitless.” “We are incredibly excited for this groundbreaking partnership with Peacock and AEG,” said Lee Zeidman, President, Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater and L.A. LIVE. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to collaborate with Peacock to create new content and programming to complement our existing roster of amazing concerts, awards shows and special events we are known for at all of our iconic L.A. LIVE venues.” According to Peacock, the comprehensive new agreement gives the streamer enhanced brand presence across L.A. LIVE including significant interior and exterior signage at Peacock Theater, fixed signage at Peacock Place, a branded content studio, and customized fan activations and brand integrations throughout select premium locations of the sports and entertainment district. Additionally, Peacock will engage fans via signature digital signage elements, including a brand-new, dedicated LED marquee, located prominently at the corner of Figueroa and Olympic Blvds., one of downtown L.A.’s busiest intersections. The forthcoming dedicated LED marquee will feature two, state-of-the-art video boards permanently attached to L.A. LIVE’s façade and will provide Peacock with 100%share of voice, 365 days a year. With this new signage, Peacock can highlight its latest content including key series premieres, promotions, and special events taking place at L.A. LIVE over the course of the partnership. Once complete, the largest of the two new signs will measure more than 29 feet high and 56 feet wide. The second will stand at more than 29 feet high and 88 feet wide, providing Peacock with premium exposure to millions of people each year. The signs will connect at the corner, with one facing Figueroa and the other facing Olympic and will remain a permanent fixture at L.A. LIVE for the length of the partnership. With the rebrand, it’s likely that future in-person events featuring the show’s cast, specifically “Day of DAYS,” will now be held at the L.A. LIVE complex going forward. 25. Back in those days, the best source for WGA strike info was by Nikki Finke during the infancy of Deadline when it was known as Deadline Hollywood Daily (pre-acquisition by PMC), but I don't ever recall seeing picket info re: the soaps either through pictures or articles. I guess one could search that site's old articles written by Nikki to find out, but again, I don't recall anything that stood out to me then. I usually retain useless info like that.
