SYTYCD Finals

Beginning Wednesday, July 19, the format of SYTYCD will change to:

There will be no set couples like previously.

Each dancer will draw for a partner each week for two dances and each performer will perform one solo...........so that is three dances for each contestant left each week.

The judges will not play into who stays or goes because each contestant will receive a telephone number for viewers to call in their votes for their favorites.

The dancers who are in the final competion are:

Allison

Benji

Dimitri

Donyelle

Heidi

Ivan

Martha

Natalie

Ryan

Travis

Just briefly tonight. We have a storm rolling in.

Excellent, excellent show. Wish I had taped it.

From my perspective, Martha and Ivan will leave.

The judges did a great hatchet job on them and Ryan. Not hard at all to tell who they want to go.

Top: hands down Heidi and Travis. I was so mesmerized and near tears with their contemporary dance. Fabulous.

Solo: Benji and Heidi both were stupendous.

More tomorrow.

I am so disappointed. Truly Dimitri is a better dancer than Ivan, but apparently voting America didn't see it that way.

All of these dancers are really good and I don't want to see any of them go, just see one of them win LOL, but to get there means the rest have to go.

Tonight:

Girls: Martha and Natalie

Martha was voted off.

Guys: Ryan and Dimitri

Dimitri was voted off.

I figured Martha would go. She's a great dancer, but her solo fell flat the other night.

I don't like Dimitri. He's a good dancer, but he has no personality, and I always believed that he was the reason his partners kept getting cut. I'm not sad to see him go.

I figured that Martha was gonna go. The judges had really high expectations after the Broadway dance, but she couldn't deliver.

I was shockes, yet pleased that Dmitri got cut. He's really not versatile, and there's so much shirt opening that a guy can do before it gets boring and repetitive. I do also think that with as many issues as each partner had, I think he was ultimately the reason why his partners were cut.

I guess Nigel must have figured out by now that Ryan has a much bigger fanbase than he thought...

I love Ryan's face. He is a sweet looking person and when he smiles, his whole face lights up. I don't think he is one of the best dancer's but he is better than Ivan in my judgement as was Dimitri.

I really thought Dimitri would be go when they got to the final three. About his personality, Nigel explained that he has a marvelous personality and great sense of humor. All his castmates love him. What he does that I think doesn't come across as desirable to the viewers is that he dances with his own inner joy, for the love it and not for the love of pleasing anyone else.

You see that desire to bring the audience's pleasure in Heidi and Benji, Donyelle and Natalie. Allison doesn't do that either because she is so young, she is just having a great time. I was surprised that Natalie was one of the bottom two girls and attribute that to her sexy behavour and many people don't care for that style in this type competition. She hurt herself there.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.
