I miss my soap and cannot wait for its return tomorrow. The only soap I want to watch.

I don’t get the excitement about the Lia actress.

Me, either. She's giving "The Devil Wears a Labcoat."

I think the actress is good, and I really enjoyed her first weeks. Lately though, the writing has failed her.

What is she supposed to do with a script that has her walking around with a clipboard doing nothing but warning hospital workers and gossiping with Ashley and Shanice? She could have been written a a smart criminal who should be feared, and instead is lost in this horrible blood plasma story -- one that is so badly written that I have no words.

I don’t know why the writers are stuck in a holding pattern. My litmus test on whether this show will last is how they end the Hayley/Bill storyline. This is currently the “soapiest”, most high-stakes story the show is doing. They’ve been building it for a long time. If they bungle the climax and ending of this story, I may stop watching the show. I love spending time with the characters but I want to watch a show where at least OCCASIONALLY something happens that makes me EXCITED for the next episode. Right now, I’m not excited. I enjoy it while I’m watching it but I don’t think about the show when I’m not watching it (compare this to how I felt watching Lauren and Sheila battle it out in the 90s when I couldn’t wait to get home from school and watch the episodes I’d videotaped).

I really do enjoy this show but this is such a good and fair description. I don't want that late 90s/early 2000s "miss a day, miss a lot!" OTT style where something huge has to happen every day. But I do need something to happen more than once or twice a year with actual stakes.

I think in the first few weeks, there was way too much happening, and maybe some people found that off-putting. Then, they took a hard turn in the opposite direction and the show is now super boring.

I was thinking this last night watching the original "Devil Wears Prada." It is all about character arc and development, but it has nearly no plot and no stakes. My Gen Z daughter watching it for the first time said it was "boring" and she also gave up on Gates for the same reason. Now, she is a 21-year-old Tik-Tok addict, so do with that what you will. However, she has good points.

Tik-tok addict = shorter attention span, instant gratification.

The original Devil Wears Prada was more about a character journey, but the movie was watered down from the book version where Miranda was pure evil without any layers nor that final scene in the movie.

Also, the actors playing Grayson and Ashley are being interviewed on the Locher Room... hopefully the interviewer doesn't interrupt too much :)
