Following last year’s crossover event that saw “The Young and the Restless” star Bryton James take his Devon Winters character to Fairmont Crest on “Beyond the Gates,” CBS on Tuesday announced at its TCA event the second crossover between the two soap operas, set to air over multiple episodes in June on “Beyond the Gates.”

According to the network, James will be returning to Fairmont Crest as Devon, where he’ll be joined by co-stars Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Michael Mealor (Kyle Abbott), Susan Walters (Diane Abbott) and Melissa Ordway, who plays his on-screen wife, Abby, and is Victor Newman’s daughter.

The ambitious storyline will see longtime close friends Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and the powerful patriarch of the Newman family, the legendary Victor Newman, reunite at a high-profile political fundraiser. In story, Victor has backed Vernon’s political campaigns over the years while Vernon has championed legislation benefiting Newman Enterprises, an alliance built on loyalty, influence, and mutual gain. Now, Vernon has asked Victor to serve as the keynote speaker at his grandson Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) fundraiser. 

Friends with Martin since they first bonded in New York City after college, Kyle Abbott looks forward to attending the fundraiser after Martin extends him an invitation. Kyle will arrive alongside his parents, Jack and Diane. Abby and Devon are also on the VIP guest list and will see Devon fielding an unexpected business opportunity from Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie).

As the evening unfolds, a shocking event occurs, abruptly derailing the fundraiser and triggering dramatic consequences that will affect every guest in attendance.

Though the second-ever crossover event between “Beyond the Gates” and “The Young and the Restless,” this will be the third time the new soap opera has crossed over with a CBS sibling, following a crossover event with “The Bold and the Beautiful” in October 2025, which saw Thorsten Kaye appear as his Ridge Forrester character from the half-hour drama series.

Broadcast weekdays on CBS and streaming Live and On Demand on Paramount+, “Beyond the Gates” is the first new daytime soap opera to premiere on network television in more than 25 years, since the launch of “Passions” on NBC in July 1999.

Distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution and produced by CBS Studios,  as part of the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble, “Beyond the Gates” was created by head writer Michele Val Jean, who also executive produces alongside Sheila Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Tracey Thomson, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Anna Saalfeld and Lela Coffey.

Something to look forward to. BTG has so many fundraisers. They're usually lackluster events. Let's hope this one is better written with some true intrigue.

Perhaps the crossover storyline should be that one of the Y&R character gets murdered in Fairmont Crest. That would be a juicy crossover!
