ARTICLE: Paramount+ Restores All 200 Episodes From Season 1 Of ‘Beyond The Gates’ To Service

Beyond the Gates, Marquita Goings

Although it was removed from the streaming service following the launch of Season 2 last Friday, all 200 episodes from Season 1 of “Beyond the Gates” have since been restored to Paramount+ as of Tuesday, January 6.

In addition to returning to Paramount+, the series is also back on Pluto TV with its dedicated On Demand channel.

While no official reason for the removal and subsequent restoration has been released at press time, it’s understood that “Beyond the Gates” was expected to follow the one season/current season streaming model used by sister soaps “The Bold and the Beautiful” (Season 39) and “The Young and the Restless”(Season 53), but because CBS owns the new soap through CBS Studios, both divisions of Paramount, a Skydance Corporation, the network and the streamer were able work out a deal that would keep episodes from earlier seasons on the service for far longer.

Cast member Mike Manning (Bradley “Smitty” Smith) commented on the situation on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Hey #BeyondTheGates fans, Season 1 should now be back on @paramountplus. As a brand new show, we know how important it is to make episodes accessible to as many as we can. Thanks for sticking w/ us!”

Beyond the Gates, Paramount+

Debuting February 24, 2025, “Beyond the Gates” was the first new soap opera to premiere on network television in more than 25 years, following the July 1999 launch of “Passions” on NBC. The show’s first season concluded on Thursday, January 1, 2026, with Season 2 premiering the next day.

The series is set in a fictional leafy Maryland suburb just outside Washington, D.C., where, behind the posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions, live affluent African Americans like the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty.

Season 1 is available exclusively to Paramount+ subscribers.

I am surprised they relented, but when you harass/bully a platform to bring things back when it's a universal thing they do (and not serial-specific), I guess that's the outcome. Happy it is back, although likely for a short period of time.

Paramount Plus also drops the previous "season" of Y&R and B&B when it changes over, usually in September. I try to keep track of the guest stars, and I have missed a week due to the episodes disappearing sometimes mid-week.

I'm hoping this means that a larger audience streams BTG than Y&R and B&B. Enough to make them cave for this show because of the number of complaints. Hey, I'm just trying to look at any possible positive.

Anything's possible but the most logical explanation is that they own the show unlike the other 2 so the only added costs are residuals (which are tiny on streaming) & data storage. I guess they have production partners in the NAACP & P&G but I don't think we know if their stakes are that high, and it's not like they'd play hardball with a bubble show.
