I think the issue is we have a romance problem on General Hospital. Sonny has no viable partners. Laura is in limbo somewhat because Kevin is. Nina has no viable partner. Liz has no viable romance. Alexis has no romance, and Kristina too. Much like his father and mother, Michael has a placeholder to flirt with when they should be investing in a real character and romance for him.

I got into a debate about this earlier on PTV. When GH hires a new woman on contract for Michael as opposed to having him float around with another dayplayer hooker, when they have him start making bigger money moves as opposed to letting Sonny/Carly/Jason cluck about his choices or make them for him, then I will buy that they are prepared to run the table with Rory Gibson in a new way. They're part of the way there (Michael prepping his own alibi with Jacinda) but they haven't gone far enough.

I would not give Nina a new partner because I would ultimately write Nina out. I love Watros but the window closed when Mulcahey left and they abandoned Drew/Nina; it's time. She can visit or something, I wouldn't go scorched earth (though I would have Willow frame Nina for her crimes, for awhile). I would of course bring in a new man for Laura but I've been over that. The Liz situation is a mess. They clearly prefer her to be Nurse Jessie, but if I had my way I'd bring Lucky back yet again (any Lucky I could get at this point). I'd even bring Zander back from the grave as real competition for awhile. Chad Brannon is still hot enough to warrant that. Anna and uh, Alexis, I have a few ideas.

I will say I stand by my thought of a crazy-ass criminal or bounty hunter type for Sonny in the short term, until you can secure Vanessa of course. Anything to get away from these animatronic law enforcement women where it's the same boring story. Maybe Mo's heart rate can climb again.

I have to strongly disagree. Abby should stay dead. I've loved seeing the toll her death has taken on the Deverauxs and Chad. It's made death actually mean something and the Hortons at present are strong enough where I don't find her return necessary. She comes back, everything just becomes status quo. Boring!

Fair enough.  I honestly don't have a strong attachment to Abby in general, but I vastly prefer Mansi to Miller in the Abby game.  I have always assumed Abby would come back because it's Days lol

LOL!!! Don't!!!

That's how I feel. Like when the Nathan storyline started, Van was acting like Lucas really and truly knew Nathan. I had more or less stop watching near the end of RC's run so was Carnes's Lucas THAT close to Nathan when Nathan and Maxie finally got together and married? Cuz that was a head scratcher to me.

But I do feel both actors are Lucas even if they are different.

I don't think Lucas and Nathan were close, but Lucas mostly lived off screen, so who knows lol?  They could have hung out together all the time without us knowing.

I will forever love Patrick Mulcahey for bringing back nasty Ava. Her two confrontation scenes with both Alexis and Nina were some of the best stuff the show has had in years.

I didn't really get much out of his turn with Ava as it all felt very confused and relied too much on idiot plotting (and I never want to see another switching meds storyline), but I did enjoy her "breakup" scenes with Nina.

I love Maura West but I wish they'd just done what I'm pretty sure he wanted to do and killed Ava off.

I would have killed Ava off and written Nina out.  There's a wealth of women in that age range at this point, and both their arcs are mostly done.  Sure, Nina can read Willow, but you have Portia, Carly, Olivia, Alexis, Anna, Laura etc., etc. at your disposal.  You need to cull the cast at some point even if the actresses are super talented.

Cynthia's great but this does feel like a natural endpoint for Nina. Once the NotNathan or whatever this is story is over I'd have her realize life is too short, disown Willow, and leave for a new journey.

I would definitely have her bust Willow on something in public before her final, mostly happy exit.

That would work. Maybe she wins Michael over but is actually planning to bilk him and run off with the kids, or something along those lines.

They should already have her screwing with Michael's PTSD from the firebombing (which they played early on with Rory) and maybe drugging him a la Sonny and Ava last year to try to scheme and get custody, so there's always that.

There's a few years of hell and angst they could tell with the pair (and I guess some lighter moments for balance).

I could see that.

Oh, I'd play her out til the wheels fall off. I've said many times I think this Willow could run at least 2-4 more years if not longer as a Susan Moore/Katherine Bell hellraiser type. But I'd have her blackmail and marry Drew (who she ofc shot) for the Q name and power, and then be with a number of other men. I'd never have her get Michael back, though she would try. And maybe start a mommy vlogger cult of her own at one point lol.

Unless the show re-pairs Nina with Sonny, I don't see a place for her anymore.  Not that it should be dependent on Sonny, but it is what it is.

I see even less space for Ava.  She's been written into a corner.  I wouldn't mind her popping in and out, but she's so far into b story I wouldn't miss her.
