Max Ehrich has joined the cast of “The Bay,” which returns for a tenth season later this year.

In an interview with Michael Fairman TV, Ehrich, who previously portrayed the role of Fenmore Baldwin on “The Young and the Restless,” revealed he’ll be portraying the role of Wesley McKinnon, the younger brother of Caleb McKinnon, played by Mike Manning (Bradley “Smitty” Smith, “Beyond the Gates”).

“He had written a role, and then I read for him,” Ehrich said of how the role came about, while referring to series creator Gregori J. Martin, who also serves as the show’s head writer and executive producer. “There’s a connection to music with this character, but there’s also a very intricate emotional arc to this role.”

Although he’s unable to provide any further details about his new character, Ehrich shared that he has remained in touch with most of his former cast members from “The Young and the Restless,” including on-screen parents Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin) and Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore).

“Just because I’m no longer on the show doesn’t mean they’re not like family to me for the rest of my life,” notes Ehrich. “They’ll always have a super special place in my heart. I mean, I literally lived at Tracey’s place in their guest house! She has a pure heart. She’s a beautiful person. Tracey feels like family to me, and so I’m grateful for that.”

Outside of acting, Ehrich dropped new music last week with a song called “LAX,” referencing the iconic Los Angeles International Airport.

“It’s about that connection you have with someone that you know instantly, you just want to get on a flight and go somewhere with, or you want to go to the beach and have some fun times there,” he says of the song’s meaning. “It’s a really great summer vibe that I hope people can enjoy and will lift their spirits up, and that they can dance along too with their windows down. It’s the current chapter of my life right now.”

“LAX” is available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube Music, among others. To listen, click here.
