Ha ha, I thought that was Ceara with Doug3.

Also, nothing new about DOOL introducing a bad girl who sleeps with a dude within the first week.  See Joy, Sloan, Talia, Chanel, and any number of others.  It is very cliché.

I understand the confusion.
If Doug3 is really who he claims to be, then he and Ciara share Doug as a grandfather, so they'd be first cousins.
LOL, it's a fair point that Ciara has made questionable choices in the past.

I don't think the writers would choose direct biological incest...
but former and current writing regimes have made questionable choices -- with adoptive incest (Stephanie/Max, Chelsea/Max, and Stephanie/Alex.). . .


Julie is Hope's sister (and also Hope's stepmother).
Julie and Hope's mom Addie is sister to Lucas' father Bill.
Lucas is first cousin to Julie and Hope.
Arianna is granddaughter of Lucas.
Arianna and Julie are first-cousins-twice-removed.
Arianna and Hope are first-cousins-twice-removed.

If Doug3 is really Doug's grandson then...

  • Julie is Doug3's stepgrandmother.
  • Hope is the sister of Doug2 (Dougie LeClair aka Charles),
    so Hope is Doug3's aunt.

Julie is stepgrand to Doug3 via Doug.
and biologically related to Arianna via Lucas.

Hope is biologically related to Doug3 via Doug,
and biologically related to Arianna via Lucas.

But Doug3 and Arianna aren't biologically related to each other.

(How much time did I waste trying to figure that out? And I bet I still missed something.)

      I suppose I am glad Lulu and Cody are trying to figure this out in a fact-based manner, but wouldn't save everyone a lot of time if they just stole Gio's hairbrush and compared it against Rocco's DNA?  Lol.

      I think judging from synoses of other shows, that the summaries are roughly in the order they played throughout the year. So Kubeck returned to a more crime theme. Maybe now that EON was competition they wanted that audience? Re Jameson Parker, the story goes that he was not pleased that TPTB wanted to tread lightly with the Dale/Ellen romance and he was taken to task over some improvs he added re touching Ellen in ways considered too 'racey'.So when his contract was up he quickly moved to OLTL as Brad.

      I don’t think it was intentional. Because if it was, I imagine it would’ve been mentioned in one of those ‘Welcome to the Neighborhood’ specials that aired.

      I wonder if Michelle Val Jean even considered this. It seems so obvious to many of us.  If they want the Dupree name to continue, Anita and Vernon need at least one male heir.  Two would be even better.  Do you think Val Jean may have written it this way intentionally for some reason?

      Agreed Anita and Vernon definitely needed a son or two.  The Duprees are the core family, yet the name practically doesn’t even exist anymore.  Some slot machines would be nice

      I would have it come out that Dani was pregnant with Naomi while her career was still on the rise, and the idea of a Dupree having a baby out of wedlock would be scandalous, and Bill, who was starting out in his career, received pressure from Vernon/Anita to do the "honorable thing" and marry her and in exchange Vernon promised to help his new son-in-law out with his legal career.
