The Rookie

Proving why it recently received an eighth season renewal by ABC, recent episodes of “The Rookie” have seen the show hit multiplatform season highs among both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, keeping it in line with the performance of fellow Tuesday dramas “High Potential” and “Will Trent,” each surpassing 10 million viewers this season among Multiplatform+3+ viewing.

The Tuesday, March 25, 2025 episode of the series, entitled “Speed,” saw remarkable audience growth after three days of viewing on ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and all other digital platforms compared to its initial Live+Same Day linear only performance among Total Viewers (8.25 million vs. 4.68 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.67 rating vs. 0.48 rating), Nielsen data showed.

Overall, this was the show’s best multiplatform performance among Total Viewers since the January 31, 2023 episode during Season 5 and best rating among Adults 18-49 since May 3, 2020 during Season 2.

“The Rookie” was the No. 1 show of the night among Adults 18-49 (0.48 rating, tie), propelling ABC to a nightly win among both Total Viewers (4.68 million) and Adults 18-49 (0.39 rating).

For the season, “The Rookie” is averaging 11.35 million viewers when factoring in multiplatform viewing, behind fellow ABC drama “High Potential” with its 15.31 million viewers and ahead of “Will Trent” with its 10.91 million viewers.

The first time I'm hearing or seeing anything about this show. Maybe I've just forgotten about it. But it sounds like I've never seen an episode. I have to check it out! Thanks.
