Webmaster Errol Posted January 18 Webmaster Share Posted January 18 On Sunday, January 19, “CBS News Sunday Morning” will feature a segment highlighting “Beyond the Gates,” the first new network television soap opera in more than 25 years. According to a logline, correspondent Nancy Giles will talk with the creative minds and actors from the groundbreaking series which follows a powerful and prestigious multigenerational family living in a gated community outside of Washington, D.C., and is the very definition of Black royalty. Created by Michele Val Jean (“The Bold and the Beautiful,” “General Hospital”) who also serves as head writer, executive producer and showrunner, the series cast is led by Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree), Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Daphnee Duplaix (Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson) and Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree). Ducksworth is one of eight executive producers attached to the series. Developed and produced by the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, led by Ducksworth, in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble, “Beyond the Gates” marks the first-ever one-hour Black daytime soap opera and the first daytime drama series to premiere since “Passions” in 1999. Anchored by Jane Pauley, “CBS News Sunday Morning” airs Sundays from 9:00-10:30 a.m. ET on CBS and available to stream Live and On Demand via Paramount+*.
