This Body & Soul crap is DREADFUL isn’t it?

None of it works and it’s all so unnecessary for an umbrella story. Like WTF.

@AbcNbc247 I’m beginning to believe that this Body & Soul stuff was the final straw…we’ll probably see some offensive blatant Ken Corday parody in which is why RC was fired lol.

I feel sorry for the actor playing Javi having to kiss GR’s Leo lol. Since when is Leo a zaddy?

And did Bonnie really do an elevator fall L.A. Law style? LOL.

They had such a good opportunity to cause conflict for Rafe/Jada and they chose to do this crap instead.

SMH.

And all this emphasis on EJ making sure that Fake Rafe doesn’t rape Jada seems very un-Ron like, almost like Corday, Janet or somebody ordered him not to go there. If you think about it, you could almost say the same thing about Doug III and Leo. Not too long ago, Leo would have been all over him and trying to blackmail him into bed about the necklace.

The Bonnie/Justin/Alex scenes would have been better if they weren’t written like such a big joke. And, of course the head of the B&S wardrobe department would be named Richard. Seriously, I’m all joked out

Philip vs. Xander continues to be the best storyline. I like the way that it’s continuing to be built up and that it’s involving so many characters. This is the way that an umbrella storyline should be written. I wouldn’t mind the two of them going after Dimera either, mostly because of the effects that it could have on everybody. And I still think that this newfound friendship between Stephanie and Sarah is foreshadowing of something that may happen in the future. And I’m here for it.

Hopefully, this all plays out until after Ron leaves. I’d like to see how the new writers would handle the reveal and the fallout, and what the storyline could lead to. And, I’m still wondering if they changed any of Ron’s storylines and projections.

Hate to say it, but sometimes I think that, if Leo is supposed to represent me, I’d rather not be represented.

I thought so too, but how could they have let it play out for so long lol it’s been terrible from the very beginning, even when Abe was kidnapped and first started watching it. That’s why I wonder sometimes if whether or not there was something that prompted them to finally fire Ron.

As for Leo, I don’t think Ron and co. see him as a zaddy. According to the way the storyline’s being written, he and Javi are contemporaries

Even though the age gap is quite obvious.

BTW, I just wanted to say that everything noted here about yesterday's Crummiest of the Crummy DAYS episodes was fulfilled when I watched the true drudgery last night! I join in wondering what happened that finally caused the show to rid themselves of the Carlivati menace.

I think you're on to something here.

In a way I kinda hope so!

DAYS is supposedly the diversity soap. If this is diversity in 2025 we are all in a whole helluva lot of trouble.

By this I take it that you are referring to something else beyond just B&S?

It really is. I am dumbfounded by the fact that some of my posters in my FB soap group, actually like it, or at least they say they do. But, they also claim to like Leo, so I really don't know what they are smoking!!!

I definitely think this was in some way a final straw. To me it reads as a really bad dig at the genre.

Well, you know when they killed off Hattie's character Charlemagne, that is how they offed her &  it was clear that it was derivative & about Rosalind Chase's demise on that show.

1/3 of the B&S cast is out of commission between Chanel, Hattie, and Bonnie.  Can you imagine if Y&R lost Nikki, Phyllis, and Sharon, all in the same month?

Speaking of which, why is The Spectator running a gossip column based only on a streaming soap opera?  Jack really needs to take back control and focus the paper on more pressing concerns.

Yeah.

It's purely speculation on my part but I can't help but wonder. How would it have taken them so long to see how lousy B&S and Ron's writing in general could be?

I even wondered if he was attempting a suicide mission.

As a big F U to the fans?

I completely get why you wonder about this. But, as to the second part, why would he sabotage himself rather than just quit? I suppose it could be a thing, though. I love, and admire, Michele Val Jean but I continue to have these lingering doubts about his inclusion even as a BDW on BTG. I hope I'm wrong.

I was thinking that it goes back to the strike, and what was written while he wasn't there. He clearly wasn't a fan of a lot of it (Abigail coming back, Bobby-Everett, Alex/Kristen, The Janel baby)

And we all know how he gets when things don't go his way; he gets very lazy, he gets very petty. I couldn't help but wonder, 'suicide mission' lol

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
