Between the talk about how NAC is awful for not going to a ex-coworkers party, people comparing Jason to John Wick, and the actual spamming of today's dialogue and photos of today's episode this thread is a rough road to find actual content.

I actually do see the concept of Jason protecting Sasha.  It makes sense for the character.  It's believable enough for me to buy although I don't think anyone on the canvas should.  Jason is at a really awkward crossroads here.  Sam's dead, Liz is with Lucky, Carly/Jason tanked so he needs something to do.   I don't know how Sasha has become so vital here, but I don't see anyone realistically on the canvas to pair him with either.

I'm still not convinced WTFever they were doing with Jason and Anna is over. If it is I'm thrilled, but he is still out of options and I think actually putting him with Sasha romantically would be both laughable and profoundly boring. Like you I don't mind them bonding and I've developed a minimal tolerance for her in a calm supporting role (as opposed to the litany of scenes where evil Tracy snaps at her and everyone attacks Tracy for kicking the show's equivalent of a puppy), but scenes between Steve and Sofia Mattsson are going to get real slow real fast.

In other news Gio looked insanely good in that top and if they don't let him shed his shirt two summers in a row we should all riot. Braedyn Bruner is still quite good as Emma, but I don't think pairing her with a rootless newbie (however amiable and charming as Gio is) is the answer, any more than it is for him.

I was wondering if the Anna/Jason stuff was dropped.  It seemed to have a bad reaction from pretty much everyone.  I don't want Jason/Anna paired, but I definitely don't want more of Valentin/Anna either.

I agree Jason/Sasha would get old quick.  To put it kindly, SM and SBu are more subdued in their performances.  It was one of the reasons I found Sam/Jason so lethargic as a pairing.  I actually have no idea what Sasha and Jason would even have in common or talk about besides this baby.  The show just really needs to get a grip on what to do with Jason or let Steve go (which we know would never happen).   I would try to pair Jason with Nina, Ava or (don't everyone hate me) Lois.  Even if Jason covering for Sasha makes character sense to me, the idea of Jason pretending to hook up with his quasi son's girlfriend is just weird.

I don't think pairing Emma with Gio is the answer either.  Again, I like Gio, but he just floats around from scene to scene.  The actor is cute and seems like a great kid, but Emma needs a love interest with more substance.  And, no, making Gio BLQ's/Dante's kid won't help.

I still think Anna & Jason represent Partners & Friends. As to Sasha, going by how uncomfortable Jason was about feeling the baby move or kick & also what Steve said in his podcast. Put that altogether & Jason with Sasha, is again Friends with added in Jason protecting Michael's interests.

Carly hasn't had sex for a year, well, technically 11 months & some days, but whose counting, right? Jason hasn't had sex as far as we are able to estimate for much longer. Korte's been co-HW now for a year. We need her to pull the trigger & give us Romantic Jarly. Never gonna know how it will go over till you try.

And about Gio, what I like is his friendship with Trina.

To be clear,  My post was intended as a response to the poster who was commenting on NAC not attending Tabyana's party, as if that were a slight or something.

I personally never had any expectation that NAC and Tabyana were/are friends in real life.  As far as I could tell, they were simply work colleagues.

I was snarking about NAC preening at the Paris event, simply because he frequently posts pics of himself preening, and I (personally) find it annoying when anyone of any gender posts lots of pics of themselves looking 'sexy'.  Just me.
I don't care that NAC didn't attend a party with his former coworkers. I don't care about that at all!!!
I just get annoyed with those types of photos posted by ANYONE.

After I made my post in this thread,  someone else posted that NAC was paid to attend the events in Paris, so it was simply a work gig.  I had no idea!

I know absolutely nothing about the Paris fashion world.  All these years, I had been assuming that people attend such events so that they can be "seen", to improve their personal brand or whatever.  It never occurred to me that anyone was being paid to attend.

I kind of am warming up to it; it'll be interesting to see how it moves going forward, providing the historian and fired writer can make it work, which means they won't.

But I'm going to need Jason to be dad a bit more to Danny & Jake, before he goes fathering Michael's baby.

Agreed.

I don't think it's the worst story idea for Jason.  I do get @Vee's point about it getting old quick with Sasha/Jason though.  Again it's one of GH's famous baby stories that gives everyone 9 months to figure out what to do next with the two characters.

1-24

Yeah, definitely liked this one better than 1-23 which came across as plot, plot, plot. Again. Also again, not shocked. I did like that Jordan (per Isaiah) figured out that Sidwell was THAT Sidwell that held Lucky and almost killed him, Jason, Anna, and Holly. I was FINALLY!!! Someone pieced it together!!! Before February Sweeps!!!  It was also pretty clever. And I did like Laura/Anna vs Sidwell.  I will always like Mac/Cody scenes and Ric/Ava scenes. And it was cute that Joss and Lucas shared scenes though it was again about plot...and it made me think Cyrus (who has vanished) ain't making it out of February Sweeps alive. That said...I wasn't here for Sonny/Natalia and Laura's return to being a Sonny apologist. And as mentioned yesterday...MOLLY AND CODY??? HMMmmm.

Meanwhile, I liked Brennan being there for Carly. And touching on her history with the Qs...though I side-eyed her so hard since she is the reason they don't get along. Cuz...Carly. lol.

I honestly continue to like the BLQ/Maxie/Lulu drama. It was played real. And one thing that soaps used to give regularly has always been female friendships. And Maxie/Lulu was that friendship. However in the last four years, BLQ has grown and became that BFF to Maxie that Lulu was. For a soap, it is pretty organic drama with plenty of history. Even Tracy coming in and vetoing everyone is history given her being a mother figure to Lulu all these years. Though given how close Tracy is to BLQ, I'm surprised she would do something over BLQ's opinion given how much she wanted BLQ to work at Deception as HER legacy.

I'm not against Drew being banned from the Q mansion. Sorry, not sorry.

Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about Kai not being able to play football again. Unless it turns into the typical...jock finds another position (or love) only to find out there's another way to his goal of sports. Time will tell, I guess.

Uneven week, but not a bad one.

I don't know if you will find this interesting or not. I just got an email detailing what words & phrases have recently been added to the banished words list. (Did you know that there is such a thing? I did not.) Anyway, to finally get to my point, this phrase has been banished. Why? (You might ask.) Apparently we have overused it to such a degree as to make it worthless. I feel remorse over this. I know I have overused it!

I can understand that. I usually use a phrase once everyone else stops using it...or I use my own before everyone else gets to it. And then stop once they do.

My way of saying...indeed.

    • I was watching some August 1987 episodes and they brought back so many memories. I had some thoughts: Lisa and Jamie were so dull. Lisa was such a nothing character. It boggles my mind that so much story was centered around her in such a short amount of time. Joanna Going is a talented actress, but the material was just not there.  It was so good to see Wallingford and Mitch again. I know there was talk about Felicia a while back, but these episodes reminded me how integral Felicia was for the show.  Sally Spencer was done so dirty. She is turning in superb performances in an icky storyline. I wish she had stuck around longer. She has chemistry with everyone. The McKinnons should have lasted longer. Spencer had some strong stuff with Stephen Schnetzer and Mary Alexander. AW waster such a talented actress by getting rid of her. Justice for Cheryl too. I also missed Ed Fry when he left. Sandra Ferguson was a star from the moment she came on. She was charismatic and just popped. She had immediate chemistry with RKK and blended in well with Wyndham and Watson. I'd forgotten about the teenage Matthew.  I have no memory of Peggy Lazarus. She must not have lasted long. Was the original plan for John that he was going to turn out to be the twins' real father?
    • If the new and improved copies that @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded can be manually moved into the "by month, by year" folders, that would be awesome. I personally don't think it's necessary to keep the older versions (which either have Dutch subtitles hard coded on them, or are lesser in picture quality). That's a lot of valuable drive space that could be cleared. Just my view but can appreciate others may feel differently. The structure had been by month by year previously, so I think it would be easier to conform to that, where so much prior work to get it to that format has already been done. Hopefully you can "drag and drop" so the new copies are in the right month/year? Re Clips, I never look at them now we pretty much have the episodes in full. Appreciate others may use, however. Thanks for all your hard work here @BoldRestless!
    • Oh yes defintely, Josh Griffith repeats and repeats the same storylines.
    • Isnt’t this storyline similar to the Cameron Kirsten situation though? Sharon thought she killed him. He ended up being alive and Sharon was being tormented with thinking she was seeing his face everywhere and that’s how we got that iconic scene with her and Nikki in the sewers.   I understand in Mariah’s case this is different circumstances but it does seem like a play on that whole thing. Maybe I’m wrong. I just wish if they were going to make any character follow in Sharon’s foot steps it would be Faith. Mariah wasn’t even raised by her, and her personality is different. I would expect her to take a different path. I understand I could be completely jumping ahead because the storyline hasn’t even played out yet but we’ll see.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven Monica was completely without redeeming qualities at this point. I always found the whole Monica = Carly narrative regressive, as I don't think shows comparing characters so heavily is ever a great idea, but she's actually worse than Carly was. Was it the Pollocks who had Leslie have a miscarriage?  Giving her a child, especially by rape, was not a good idea, but a part of me wishes they'd committed to it just to see what story it might have had in later years.
    • @janea4old Your detailed explanation and delving into the psychology and motivations is no doubt the opposite of what we will see onscreeen. As @ranger1rg stated we will get a few scenes and some sketchy explanations. Like the adoption of Aria, most of it will take place off screen.
    • I'm suddenly fearful that DAYS is going to pull a Flowers-for-Algernon stunt and Bo's progress will be reversed.  While @te. is stuck on Abe's tiny bedroom, I can't stop thinking of the size of Bo's huge hospital room.
    • Okay, why are Paulina and Abe sleeping like that?!  I'd take a screen grab if I wasn't lazy, but come on.
    • All caught up on this week's episodes. Deidre Hall has done the best work of her career with this series of episodes. That is her tribute to Drake. Every acting choice has been perfect. From her reaction the moment John flatlined, to her snapping at Abe and Paulina (what a smart, realistic writing choice), to her grief playing the text message over and over. Josh Taylor did the best work of his career in the scene with Kayla telling him John had died. Everything about his facial expression, voice, pronunciation, everything was so different from what he usually does. He was overcome with the emotion of it and any of his acting tics disappeared. Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso were great. One thing I noticed with the flashbacks of John/Marlena and Bo/Hope is that Bo and Hope are constantly smiling at each other. The chemistry those two have cannot be faked. It's clear the writing team decided to clean up Bo and Hope and give fans a happy ending for them, neatly wrapped up in a bow. The juxtaposition of Bo and Hope reclaiming their happiness thanks to John, while Marlena is dealt life's harshest blow from John's sacrifice, was another great writing choice. Marlena even saying that to Eric, that she is paying for Bo's recovery with John's life, was such smart writing. Susan Seaforth Hayes was used very effectively between the two storylines. I really enjoyed the scene of Kate talking to Philip, calmly stating that she will make Xander pay. Overall, the show should be lining these episodes up for the Emmys and Deidre should be carefully choosing her scenes for her own reel. She deserves a Best Actress Emmy for this work. The first time I have felt that way about her work. Peter Reckell should submit himself for Guest for the scenes where he found out Victor is dead because he was genuinely heartbreaking. Josh Taylor should throw his name down for Supporting Actor for his scenes. The show deserves a Writing and Best Show for what they've done with the episodes around John and Bo. It was heavy stuff and I feel for the actors. I am so impressed with what they did.
