Fans enthralled by the drama happening between half-sisters Molly Lansing-Davis and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kristen Vaganos and Kate Mansi) on “General Hospital” are in luck: the ABC daytime drama series will rebroadcast the August 1, 2024 episode (#15520) on Monday, September 2 (Labor Day) as a way help viewers who missed it keep up where things are heading next.

In the episode, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is put on the spot while Molly confides in Sam (Kelly Monaco). Elsewhere, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) makes a pitch to Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) while Sonny (Maurice Benard) lashes out. Later, Kristina is on the warpath with Ava (Maura West) and by the end of the day, a disastrous accident will occur. Meanwhile, Trina (Tabyana Ali) gets an eyeful.

In story, during a volatile confrontation between Ava Jerome and Kristina, the latter loses her standing and falls through the thinly made windows of a Metro Court Hotel room as several poolgoers watch in horror as she lands in the pool below. Although her fall into the chlorinated water ultimately saved her life, sadly it also led to the death of the unborn child she was carrying as a surrogate for Molly and Molly’s domestic partner T.J. Ashford (Tajh Bellow).

In the weeks since the tragedy, Kristina and Blaze have broken up, with the latter leaving town, and Molly learned that Kristina had secretly been planning to seek sole custody of the baby before her fall.

After Molly and T.J. agreed to name the child Irene Marie Davis-Ashford leading up to funeral services, Molly later confronted Kristina about her plan to take the child from her and T.J. after Kristina unexpectedly revealed at the baby’s funeral that she would refer to the child as Adela, which is the name of Molly and Kristina’s deceased paternal grandmother, who Kristina herself was named after, albeit her middle name – Adela Corinthos was the mother of Kristina’s father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and Molly’s father, Ric (Rick Hearst).

Overall, the storyline has breathed new life into “General Hospital” with fans praising the decisions made by head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, and associate head writer Cathy LePard.

“Y’all get mad at me when I say nice things, but I don’t care. #GH has been good this week. It feels like a soap right now,” commented one user on X (formerly Twitter). Another said, “Kristen Vaganos came in and made Molly relevant for the first time in the character’s existence.” They added, “She can convey emotion without saying a single word, with just a look. She has chemistry with everyone, including five seconds into ‘meeting’ her TV dad.”

On X (formerly Twitter), a fan clipped the falling into the pool scene while adding the iconic music beats heard during the seven season run of the original “Melrose Place” (if you know, you know). You can watch the clip below.

“General Hospital” returns Tuesday, September 3 with all-new episodes. Additionally, Emma Samms reprises her role as Holly Sutton starting Wednesday, September 4.

    • Portugal qualifying was the only shocker. I'm really happy for Iceland. IMO, the automatic finalists – Spain, Switzerland and Italy – had the best performances. I love the studio version of Azerbaijan, but on stage, it was a disaster.

    • Randy (Doug's friend who works for Joey) -- Joey told Randy weeks ago that Joey's plan was to get Doug into so much debt that Doug would be forced to get Vanessa's real estate holding turned over to Joey, to use for money-laundering.  That's been the plan all along, which the viewers knew.  The only thing new is that Joey finally told Doug this. I think Joey is written badly.  I also think Jon Lindstrom is doing "Now I am going to act menacing".   But I don't really feel the menace.  It's too overdramatic and it doesn't feel like a real person.  Jon is a fine actor on GH, so I don't know what's happening here -- the entire BTG mobster premise is badly designed/written.  I don't know if Guza pushed for a mobster storyline?  Or did Jon?  (Jon wrote a novel about Hollywood mobsters). It just doesn't fit.  It feels (to me) like this storyline for Jon was just shoved onto the canvas but it doesn't fit all all. Monday's scene of Mona coming into the "casino" to check up on where Leslie supposedly lost money in the slot machines -- and Randy explaining to Mona that there are no slot machines, there is nothing but the card room.  I had to laugh because they had characters comment that it's just a card room and not a casino -- the show is now acknowledging that there's nothing there.  If they are going to do this, then have it make sense for Fairmont Crest residents to visit a high-end glamourous casino, and not a random room with one table. So what money is Joey laundering? A while back, Joey told Vanessa that he knows about her sexual philandering because owns the escort service that she'd been using. But I don't care...  I'd just prefer that the entire mobster storyline go away.
    • I caught up this past weekend. The show is better written, but I have been bored with the show. I did notice it ranked in the top 5 again this week, so that's a good sign.
    • I can't take this show seriously. I truly miss WJB writing this show. Bradley didn't inherit his dad's talent.
    • Maybe if there had been a good close up or two
