Pretty sure LC is not going anywhere in Jan/Feb based on MQAS chatter. This "she is critical stuff" is very disconcerting though! I personally always get a little scared when Guza decides to do one of his big explosive stories as last time we lost the awesomeness that is Stu Damon!! ....Well in his alive form anyways <_<

I'm baaaack. ;) And omg...It is SO cold. Where I was. Where I am. FREEZING. Below freezing, actually. Brrrr. th_23038542231.jpg

Re: Sweeps - Why does Lulu always seem to end up in a hospital bed? So tired of it. But glad that Monica seems to be getting something out of it. Watch, though, she is prob. unconscious most of the time.

Re: NYE - Sounds GREAT for LuNacy! Will be nice to see them finally together on NYE too. First time since they've been married.

Re: Beginning of Jan - Someone watching Luke and Tracy sounds good. I just hope it actually leads to something. Even though we have that 2009 preview with "Tracy in Danger" - you know how these previews get blown out of proportion.

angel, love the video! Nice to "see" you back on the boards!

AMF, nice to "see" you too!

hooked, hope you are having a nice vacation!

halee, thanks for the Police Woman clip!

To those not mentioned, hope you had a nice weekend!

Todays Recaps, Abbreviated (Monday, December 22nd)

Vets: Luke, Robert, Anna, Mac

Stories: Robin asks Robert to walk her down the aisle and he says no; Sam continues her dream/hallucinations including stopping Maureen from taking Jake the first time; Sonny visits with Morgan and Carly suggests he see Morgan more often as long as he promises to keep him safe; Jason/Spin rescue Sam; Clic on Sonny's couch doing the dirty; Kate invited Jax to spend Christmas with her; Scorpio meal is really cute -- Mac asks Patrick why he's quiet amoung all these Scorpios and Patrick says he knows better; CarJax passionately kiss under the Mistletoe at Morgan's suggestion; ClawSon toast to their first Christmas together

Luke is on the dock talking to someone on the phone with connections to Cuba, who is complaining about Bruscitis. There is no indication that his 'scam' is anything more than buying cigars. He finds Sasha's body and goes to have a closer look when Robert happens upon Luke and makes some snide comment that Luke has really done it now. Grin on Robbie's face, surprise on Lukey's. Luke is amazed he's there and wants to celebrate Robert being in remission. He cops to the cigars and Robert says he gave up certain things as part of remission, and given Luke's heart issues he should be giving things up too. Luke says near death taught him to live life to the fullest and he's not giving up what he enjoys. Robert says one thing he hasn't give up is drinking and he can still drink Luke under the table. Luke says prove it, and they make plans. Luke and Robert are just talking as cops come upon them and tell them 'freeze'. The cops don't know who Luke and Robert are, and arrest them (complete with handcuffs). Mac comes upon the sceen just as the police are about to take the pair downtown and tells the officers to release them. Luke and Robert comment on Mac's timing being perfect for a change. Once the cops are gone Mac says he would punch Robert if he wasn't so happy to see him, and then pulls Robert into a bear hug. Luke and Robert say they aren't responsible, and Mac says he doesn't suspect them. Robert tells him how to do his job and Mac isn't amused. Mac tells them about catching someone with Bruscitis in the line of the free clinic with 6 crates of Cubans, and Luke quickly excuses himself to run off.

BTW, Mac tells Robert he either walks Robin down the aisle or he'll be spending Christmas in lock-up..... so much for 'convincing Robert to do the job'. Spoilers are so misleading.

There was a GH commecial run during the show.. I hadn't seen it before.

It teased the following love/romances: Scrubs, Spixie, Claudia/Sonny (what do we call this? I actually like it. Shades of LuNacy), CarJax, LnL2, JaSam, JoLu (maybe some more I'm forgetting)... It also shows NL's returns.

So.. what's my point?!?!

NO LuNacy!!!!!!!! They ignore our peeps, when they have SUCH LOYAL FOLLOWING.

Not happy! Not happy at all!

That couple is called ClauSon or ClawSon, and I really like them too. Actually Laine, they are being patterned after LuNacy.... "the couple that shouldn't be together for all sorts of reason, but discovers they work better than with anyone else". At least that was what an insider said a month or so ago.

As to the LuNacy ommission, yeah, I wasn't amused either. But I'm not sure if this was actually teasing something legit or sending the JaSam/Liason/LnL2/LuSam fans around the bend again. Remember that Fall of Romance spoiler that came out and nobody got nuthin.

What about Sodia? I sort of like that.

About the lack of LuNacy in the commercial -- it's indicative of what they think of LuNacy. LuNacy = "extra"... "pad"... "filler" for the older watchers. I'm sad. They aren't given the respect and attention they deserve, and for that reason I fear the LuNacy Lovers among us are about to be cheated.

    • I am so happy now. Reminds me of the 80s show I loved. Ron really did the cast and fans dirty. The only people complaining are those who only knew Ron and his whiplash plot driven stories
    • 1985/86 wrapped up during the weeks of May 12-18, 1986 and May 19-25, 1986. Here's how the sophomore slaughterer, sophomore surprise, and the four soaps wrapped up the season. The Cosby Show - Denise's Decision (season 2 finale, May 15, rating 31.8, #1): Denise's decision about what college she will attend becomes complicated when Cliff and his father give their advice. Dallas - Blast from the Past (season 9 finale, May 16, rating 24.9, 3rd): The joy surrounding Pam and Mark's wedding day fades as J.R.'s attempt to outwit Angelica puts Jack and Sue Ellen in danger. Pam awakens to a surprise in her shower. Murder, She Wrote - If the Frame Fits (season 2 finale, May 18, rating 21.7, 6th): Jessica is spending her holidays with an old friend, Lloyd Marcus. His daughter is found murdered in her house and her husband Donald becomes the prime suspect. Dynasty - The Triple-Cross (May 14, rating 20.5, 9th): Ben gains control of the contracts in the South China Sea after tarnishing Blake's reputation. Steven is stopped in his attempt to reveal Adam's secret. Sammy Jo and Clay have a romantic evening. Knots Landing - The Longest Night (season 7 finale, May 15, rating 20.0, 10th): Karen vanishes after closing Lotus Point. Val sees Cathy and Ben together. Tipsy Peter visits Abby. Gary finds Val on the beach. Falcon Crest - Captive Hearts (May 16, rating 18.8, 12th): Chase is shot during Maggie's escape. Angela sends Lance to break up Melissa and Eric. Jordan is arrested. Emma advises Li-Ying. Dynasty - The Vendetta (season 6 finale, May 21): Alexis plans the ultimate revenge on Blake. Claudia is trapped behind the flames when she sets her room on fire. Sammy Jo and Amanda fight for Clay's attention. Blake learns about Ben's acquisition. Falcon Crest - The Cataclysm (season 5 finale, May 22): Chase fights for life. Jeff takes Greg and Jordan hostage. A huge earthquake strikes.
    • Source for this? Especially since Benz was already on AMC as Linda Connor.

    • @soapfan770 1995/96 to 1999/2000 were not very good in primetime. CBS and ABC both had primetime mess eras, and that's how NBC got away with their Thursday garbage shows finishing in the Top 10. Remember too that ABC was sold to Disney in 1996.  As for ABC primetime mess era, it started with the Top 10 fallout of Roseanne and ended with the breakout success of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Monday Night Football and Home Improvement pretty much kept ABC alive in that era.
    • This show is miles better under the new writers. It's really a condemnation of Carlivati, because he had the characters and history to write good soap. Instead, he turned it into a joke and a farce. I've heard some people says DAYS is now "too talky." Miss me with that stupid analysis.
    • I always wondered if Jackie wasn't going to be recast after being persumed dead... if Marland was going to pair Evie and Justin as a couple reunited in grief over Jackie's death. The one consistent thing I noticed about Evie during those months she was still on the show was that she was kind of a second mother to Phillip after Jackie's 'death' and Elizabeth no longer on the canvas.   But then one of the three interim writer teams decided to pair up Helena with Justin.. which left Evie even less to do than she had at the start of 1983. You're right that Evie was a unique character on the soap.  She was sweet and trusting, yet she had a quiet strength that made it difficult to push her around (at least when the Dobson's were writing her).  The Ben/Amanda/Eve triangle was an interesting triangle because neither of the women were evil... and Ben did have chemistry and a connection with both women.   It had a pretty decent run from 1978/9 to 1982 before Amanda was spun off into her mother's new marriage to Mark as the other woman.
    • Lots of fast-forwarding in today's episode. The best parts were the Lulu and Tracy scenes and Chase in the tank top. And once again, a horrible cliffhanger with Sonny.
