You don't replace Margot Robbie who CAN act with someone like Lady Gaga. You don't.

The worst of it is that the movie is taking itself so seriously that it's going into CAMP territory. And not in the iconic Mommie dearest camp. I think this will flop in the box office for sure. At least I hope so, because this is a disgrace. I was prepared to love it, since the critics DEFILED it as a piece of trash weeks ago. I thought this was going to be some misunderstood masterpiece, but no... It's Lady Gaga taking over the Joker and acting like she is ACTING. Some of the scenes looked like a parody of the original movie. SCARY bad.

‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Makes $7M In Thursday Night Previews, Receives 36% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score – Box Office

No wonder

A remarkable quote from the same article, it polled worse than Megalopolis!

"the fanboys full-out rejected the sequel last night on PostTrak with a 1/2 star and 40% positive. Holy guacamole, Batman. Did the Megalopolis cynics show up last night? Because that’s the same Thursday night grade (actually 45% positive) that the Francis Ford Coppola-directed $120M dystopian epic received a week ago before inching up to one star on PostTrak."

It's a joke on humanity. Don't watch it. Don't torment yourself.

We just watched it... since it's out today.

WOW...I can just say... WOW.

I've never gotten so creeped out during a movie... ever. It's not a HORROR movie, there a no jump scares, but it f-cks with your head more than the scariest movie you can imagine. And the acting - this is how it's done. Brava. Brava. Brava. One of the best serial killer movies EVER.

10 out of freaking 10!

If I could... I would give it 11.

WATCH IT. IT'S on Netflix starting today!

3. The Strangers - Chapter 1.

We watched this movie last night... and boy it was scary! It is not some deep psychological thriller, know that, and it does repeat a lot of what the original The Stranger movies had in terms of plot and suspense tricks, but it is not deserving of the negative reviews it's been getting. People are ripping it to pieces and I don't get why. I am one to leave negative reviews and maybe it was the 0 expectations I came with, but I definitely can give it 6,5/10. The characters were likeable, there was plenty of suspense and spooky moments. And yes - it is targeted towards teens and younger demo, so I get why some people find it a bit infantile. And yes, it is worse than the original, but not THAT much worse. I still recommend if you need something light and spooky and not that deep for a night full of potato chips and pop-corn.

Well, as promised...guess what I'm into an hour of watching? ;)

And you know what...? Outside of the hook ('Is Tamera here?'), it doesn't seem like a remake at all. Reboot, but I am finding it highly enjoyable.  So I don't understand the hate, either.

Ha! Great to hear that someone else liked it too. It really got so much hate...   Yes, it was not some prime thriller or some deep meaningful cinematic experience... but it was fun suspenseful flick.

I remember and said that to you, too. But...I don't get it. It really was fun and suspenseful. In a way, it opened up the story a liiittle (but not too much) more than the original.

While I love my deep movies as someone who loves independent movies very much, even I have movies that are just...there. When I see a Resident Evil movie back when they came out regularly, I went to watch because 1) I don't like zombie movies, 2) I expect to see Milla kicking serious zombie butt, and 3) the action is usually superb and the set-pieces are to die for, and finally 4) the plot ain't that deep though I love a good plot twist. :) I expect nothing else...either I like it or I don't. Usually, I love them. In fact, I'm overdue a binge...lol.

And I'm invested enough to see the sequel which has to do the job of a good sequel and expand the universe the story is taking place in. But I feel confident they will do that. I'm just worry that the hatred for the first one might dismay anyone from seeing it.

7/10 even though I didn't like certain moments. But it was great overall. I recommend.

I don't care about the hate that Blake Lively's been getting. I don't care if she is a mean girl in her real life or not... I only care that she gives a performance of a lifetime in this movie.

I left the theatre with tears in my eyes. A stunning performance, that made me re-live part of my childhood. Deals with the important and hard issue of domestic abuse.

Stunning, hard to swallow, making you question things in your life, movie.

10/10!

I really don't care about the haters and people saying the movie is bad just to pile on the Blake Lively hate train.

It's not bad. It's not good. It's a masterpiece. Yes, melodramatic, but still masterpiece.

Rocked me to my core!

@Liberty City

@Jeff

Wow... this was my reaction nearly half a year ago... I was seeing all the negative press about Blake Lively... that is now... revealed to have been an orchestrated smear campaign. Then and now... I believe her. Shame on the people that tried to destroy her. They will never succeed.
