POSITIVES.

1. On first look, it seems to have all the storylines and variety that I think we need for the show to be commercially successful. Some of them are clearly there to grab the viewers attentions - slaps, throwing stuff around - just a trick and I love it.

2. The acting so far looks to be on a great level. Especially from the leads. TAMARA Tunie is stealing every shot she is in and she looks SPECTACULAR.

3. From what we've seen of the dialogue - witty, iconic stuff!

4. Wardrobe is sublime. I am very very impressed.

NEGATIVES.

1. The overall lighting and the slightly artificial look that it gives it at certain moments. I think this will improve with time. It's better than DAYS-brightness, but slightly worse than Bold in terms of being too bright  Maybe I should see it on a different screen, but on my huge monitor that is hooked to the laptop... some scenes looked SOOOOO BRIGHT that my eyes were close to watering. This is just first impressions thing.

OVERALL -  I AM SCREAMING WITH HAPPINESS.

CBS seems to be very methodical with how and when they’re releasing promotional content for the show. Shows that there’s an actual plan and commitment there which is great.

I think (hope) the Paul Rauch-homage lighting design will change as time goes on.

AMEEEN! Please GOD. That's my only single critique. Too Bright.

Tamara Tunis looks like a queen throughout the entire extended promo. I loved the soapy window shot of her towards the end of the extended promo.

Julie Hannan Carruthers’ pre-LA AMC was similarly lit - in this situation, though, I hope it’s more of a case of them being new, trying to find their own signature look, and making easy/fixable changes with more feedback/time.

This is why I'm not b*tching about the lighting. Years of being [cough-forced-to-see-cough] used to the Rauch Philosophy of Grossly Overlighting the Stage, the Actors, the Uniforms I force them to wear, ...

And, now, of course, I watch DAYS which is apparently lit by candles that were on sale ...

If it doesn't change, which I hope it does... I'll just have to watch with corrected brightness-contrast settings on my TV. It will make everything look so much better. Not that reality-tv-bright stuff.

I don't see anyone "Bit-ching" about lighting. Just saying our opinions. There is no chance that all I'm going to to is SCREAM YEY in this topic and close my eyes to stuff that I don't like. I'm not that kind of person. These things need to be expressed and this feedback needs to be given in time.

It resembles what TOLN had with AMC/OLTL, and I also think it's to avoid over-shadowing the actors. The lighting does not need changing; if anything, some work in post could be done.

Some [light] changes in the brightness/contrast of the clips from CBS Sunday Morning:

Sometimes, for soaps, when they let JPI Photography or the network photographers on set for promotional stuff, the lighting is different in those shots than when the episodes are finally edited for airing

Andre to Dani

"For one night, let me remind you of who we still are."

I take it that they had a long-term relationship and it ended, or she was cheating with Andre just as Bill was cheating with Hayley.

This leads me to believe even more that Bill and Andre are half-brothers. Same father.

You incorrectly assume here that my use of the word b*tching is somehow a criticism of people offering constructive criticism. I assure it is not. It's a perfectly good word. And, I literally used it about myself. Although it is true that one could make an inference. To sum up, I do see people bit*hing about the way the program is lit but I happen to think it's justified.
