Moments in soaps that were masterfully acted. Moments in which actors expressed emotions so well that it moved us to the core. That showed us what soaps are really about.

I am starting with a short clip from the soap opera The Doctors. Althea - played by the stunning Elizabeth Hubbard. The year is 1968.

There's a lot to post, but Ellen Parker's final performances of Maureen Bauer on GL still stick with me:

Im on my 2016 GH binge and oh damn. Laura Wright‘s acting was chef‘s kiss after her son Morgan died and kinda blaming Sonny for it. LW really put her heart into those scenes.

Victoria Wyndham and Carmen Duncan were excellent in the scene where Rachel told Iris that Mac had died on AW.  This was raw emotion playing out in this scene as the actresses were also playing out the death of Douglass Watson in real life.  Both of these ladies deserve an Emmy award.  Also, think of how this scene would have played out if Beverlee McKinsey was still playing Iris.

Kristian Alfonso's scream when she learns Zach died was chilling and best acting that I have seen from her.
