God, I love her❤️ This is such a relatable moment. Hahhahaha.

Yeah, I don't like to judge people. At the same time I'm annoyed because it's another dadgummed error, UGH. But, I know that Lucci doesn't mean, ya know, any harm, but I just wish she would tell the great anecdotes like are in her memoir that do not in any way rely on facts! 🤔🙄😲😉🙃🤣🤣 And because it's Lucci I'll give her a compliment: 🐐 (which I presume people know what GOAT stands for)

She is the ultimate GOAT and BRAT girl of soaps. ❤️  I think it's a compliment for any show to be wrongly accused of being created by Agnes Nixon. Hehehe.

That is totally perverse but I kinda love it. A compliment because it's the very great Agnes Nixon. Well, Nixon & Labine are both on my list of favorite soap authors, which runs to 15.

I would not be offended if someone said I was Created by Agnes Nixon... but knowing myself... I'm more Bradley Bell material in real life. (metaphorically speaking of course) 🤣

But yeah, Love to read all of your notes and analysis on these issues (errors, myths and etc) and watching you search for answers with the curiosity of a child. Not many people are like that... and it inspires me. Don't ever change. No matter what people say or the hate you you receive. ❤️

Firstly, you judge people ALL THE DAMN TIME.

Secondly, why are you taking this special so seriously? It isn't like these are all paid historians discussing a documentary they put on about AMC. It's just a shout out for the fans.  No academic would ever take the information from this for face value.

I'm sure that to most people, at least it they are here in this topic, if they belong here, then it is more than clear why something like this would come up here. I mean a part of why this began was the Y&R live primetime special where they said two real egregious errors. I think we all realize that these kinds of events have a high probability of one or two juicy errors. I mean this is not an academic inquiry & I for one am glad of that.

I literally have the scripts. It was May 1971

I have almost every script from 1970 - 1984.

Jeff and Erica married Dec 1970. She found out she was pregnant soon after. Jeff seemed somewhat agreeable to an abortion but then talked it over with his father Joe and changed his mind. Erica told him she would get the abortion whether he agreed or not.

She went to New York and lied about having her husband's approval (it was legal but only with a husband consenting) then ended up with septicaemia. Which is how Jeff found out. Mary Kenicott was introduced around this time.

I just re-watched "Tomorrow 1975 Looks at Soap Operas". I hadn't watched it in years. When Agnes Nixon spoke about Erica's abortion she mentioned that she did so without her husband's permission. So, just as Will found it pertinent here, so did Agnes Nixon then on late-night TV.

I find that there is something I must point out. So I had referred to Internet sources having errors. But someone posted ridiculing that idea & even suggesting I was making these things up. Now, that same person is on a rant about all the errors on wikipedia. I wonder which it is, what they said here, the other day, or today, in another topic. I suspect we all know this answer.

Thanks for saying this, all of this!!!

Now, amazing, got news back from the Syracuse connection already & it basically narrows down the SFT Kathy abortion to a specific week!

Thanks for your patience! I have good news and bad news. The good news: I was able to narrow it down to one week. The bad news: we are unfortunately missing the breakdowns and scripts from that week.

I began with breakdowns from the week of February 7, 1972 and located the following events:

-February 29th, 1972: Kathy tells a doctor that she thinks she is pregnant.

-March 8th, 1972: Kathy receives confirmation that she is pregnant.

-March 14th, 1972: Kathy calls Dr. Rogers.

-March 28th, 1972: Kathy speaks to a nurse in an admitting room and discusses the procedure that will happen the next morning.

-April 11th, 1972: Kathy mentions that she has said yes to Scott’s proposal and that she finds it strange that it happened on the day she got back from “visiting Albany.”

The only episode breakdown missing is that of the week of April 3rd, 1972, and it seems that Kathy must have told Scott and been proposed to within that week. We also do not have the scripts for that particular week, so I was not able to verify.

THIS IS JUST.... Wonderful! And huge THANKS to both you and the person at the library! So nice of them to check this out. Must have taken them a considerable time. And to do this for free... Ah...

How thrilling that a totally new user has resurrected this dead thread, created by a notorious tr0ll (SON tried to ban this word to keep us from reporting people like her too often, but it didn't matter) who spammed this thread for months constantly making errors and omissions, and getting all of her information wrong before defiling the privacy of a dying man and his family.

But she's banned from this forum and I'm sure she'd never try to come back.
