The four daytime soaps are not immune to the ever-evolving casting decisions that see television’s biggest shows consistently swapping characters in and out episode to episode. Therefore, thanks to our handy casting guide, it’s our duty to keep track of who’s coming, going, staying, or even returning to L.A., Salem, Port Charles and Genoa City.

Find out the latest casting changes impacting your favorite shows during the week of December 4-8, 2023 below.

The Young and the Restless

  • Lauralee Bell and Michael Damian are on again during the week of December 4-8, 2023 as Christine Blair and Danny Romalotti, respectively, when the two share an intimate kiss and a hearty meal.
  • Vail Bloom appears as Heather Stevens on Tuesday, December 5.
  • Lily Brooks O’Briant appears as Lucy Romalotti on Tuesday, December 5.
  • Veronica Redd appears as Mamie Johnson, who is ready to take on anything thrown her way.
  • Jess Walton is back and ready to have her character, Jill Abbott, stand her ground against her rivals. Plus, she gets to enjoy some time with her son, Billy (Jason Thompson) and the new lady in his life, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan).

GOINGS

General Hospital

  • Ellen Travolta (Gloria Cerullo) exited last week after her character returned to Bensonhurst following Thanksgiving festivities at the Quartermaines.

STAYING

The Young and the Restless

  • J. Eddie Peck will be sticking around longer than expected as Cole Howard. Per head writer and executive producer Josh Griffith in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Cole is already taking a sabbatical from Oxford to write a new book so it makes sense that with the Claire/Eve situation needing more of his attention, he’ll be staying in Genoa City.

    • If you are someone who wanted to read this on IRNA & didn't get to it (before it was removed for being too long) PM me & I will see to it. (It's in my Dropbox, possibly what I should have done in the first place.)

    • Really? But it was sooooo unrealistic. At least they found a legit reason for him to not run (SilkPress Sheila ain't no punk or joke...lol). Well tbf it sounded like he was joking. So I didn't think he was serious until yesterday. And I felt...THAT'S IT? So it's good he said it aloud to Doug's face so there was no way to mistake how the scene was played...which well I did. Seems so...simple?...given what's been at play with Doug and Vanessa.    +1. I agree.
    • I absolutely love the idea of Krista Allen being on the show. I wouldn't saddle her with Jen though. I'd create a brand new character for her. She could be a diva who lives Beyond The Gates and is gradually seen at the country club. Then I'd do a slow roll out where the Duprees don't like her and her family because she is part of the first white family that "infiltrated" Beyond The Gates. Then slowly...and I mean slowly...expand Krista's character's family as a rival to the Duprees as some have said the show should have. A younger son to mix it up with Chelsea/Kat, a daughter to maybe run for office against Martin. Krista Allen could easily be a great matriarch for a rival family.

    • They said Kate was on the board too.  I am confused if that's all new developments or we always knew that.  I really have no idea why Kate would be on the hospital board.

Then in a brilliant moment she invoked the words of Claire Labine, said by Rosalind Cash as Mary Mae Ward to Stone, near death, a now very famous quote: "Every moment of my life, whether filled with joy or with pain, has the potential for grace realized. Whether it's an opportunity to learn, or whether it's to make a connection, or whether it's to find love which you didn't think existed, these are gifts from god & to throw them back in his face is something unthinkable to me."
    • That would make sense; he is to DAYS as the Quartermaines are to GH, in terms of the hospital board. If only DAYS had a hospital worth being a board member of.

    • I think Arielle Prepetit is great, but I almost wish Naomi had been Nathan and Jacob were Jacqueline (shades of Tom and Margo). We’d have another Dupree son, and the idea of Bill being a disgraced role model for his male lawyer son would have a different resonance around masculinity and generational trauma, especially since we already have Chelsea for the female Hamilton daughter POV. Just for the balance.
