The week of September 25-29, 2023 officially marked the beginning of the 2023-2024 broadcast television season, and with it, the season premieres of “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right,” among others.

In the case of “The Price is Right” (3.634 million / 4.171 million), the game show kicked off Season 52 with both half hours up over the same week last year among Total Viewers (+82,000 and +102,000, respectively) and Households (2.3 / 2.6 rating). Meanwhile, the show was flat year-to-year in both Women 18-49 (0.4 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.6 rating).

“The View” (2.412 million) was the only other daytime broadcast series seeing year-to-year increases, up +245,000 viewers over its performance on the year ago week. In fact, “The View” also saw increases compared to its week ago (+152,000 viewers) and how it did two year earlier (+27,000 viewers), proving political discussions is the ABC show’s bread and butter.

“Let’s Make a Deal” (2.482 million / 2.130 million), which launched its 15th season on CBS, was down across the board compared to its year ago performance in Total Viewers (-61,000 and -117,000, respectively). The show was down or flat year-to-year in Households, Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 rating (see ratings charts below).

For the second consecutive week, “General Hospital” (2.047 million) saw week-to-week increases and was above the two million viewer mark.

“The Young and the Restless” (3.149 million) and “The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.666 million) were the only daytime broadcast shows to see an uptick among Total Viewers compared to their 2020 performances, with the hour-long soap seeing +202,000 more viewers while the half-hour soap saw a much smaller bump of +11,000 viewers over 2020.

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of September 25-29, 2023 in Women 18-49 Rating, Women 25-54 Rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance in 2022, 2021 and 2020, respectively. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance breakdown in the demos, can be read here.

Note*: Officially, the demo ratings are sorted by the rounded figures released by Nielsen. We are separately providing the unrounded demos for informational purposes only. “NBC News Daily” 2021 and 2020 figures are compared to the performance of “Days of our Lives,” which moved to Peacock exclusively beginning September 12, 2022.

“The Talk”** aired repeats all week and is excluded from the rankings where shown. Any data points for the show listed below are for informational purposes only and will not factor into the show’s weekly or season average.

    • I thought someone saw a pic in someone's IG acct. is all, but, cute, nope, not an announcement, although that's a lovely idea.  Memo to the Fans from Franky: The next set I will be repurposing - and expect you to all bow down & worship me in appreciation, .....
    • The only thing Martin running for president do was showcase how arrogant and defiant he is. Ignoring his grandparents concerns, giving him a god complex that his secret wouldnt be revealed and how selfish he was in comparisons to his dreams vs Smitty. That was the characterization it gave him and he still possess those traits. Its okay to move away from that given what just happened to his family. Knowing he has a huge secret, it never made sense for him to want to run for president and he's finally thinking logically.   Besides a presidential run wouldnt happen for another 3 years anyway so all the show would be doing is having him just talk about this by which point the characters will not even be in the same place. It wasnt a plo but something that would have had to cookign the background and tings move too fast to expect that to still be a thing when the time would come. Martin's secret most certainly will have been revealed thus killing any run he would have wanted anyway
    • Thank you! It would have been a nice nod to history if Lulu stated that she bought the house that her Eckert’s relatives used to live in.

    • There is detail here if you scroll down to "behind the scenes" https://general-hospital.fandom.com/wiki/Spencer_House Same set Eckert family in 1991 Carly/Jax 2005-2009 Luke/Bobbie/Pat and parents in 1960s from 2015 storyline and now Lulu in 2025 They established in 2015 that Pat had signed the house over to the Eckerts so that is the same house that the Eckerts had in-universe in 1991. May I ask then:  Carly's 2004-2009 house and Lulu's 2025 house are each supposed to be different buildings -- unrelated to Spencer history (despite them both being Spencer daughters) ?

23 years passed since this masterpiece. I still remember being a kid and dancing to it. God I'M OLD.
    • I thought it might be either a Victor or Dimera thing.  Both seem plausible.  I just don't know why Kate would care about the hospital much lol.  It would obviously be a conflict of interest for her to vote either way, but so would Brady's vote. I am overthinking it lol.
    • I know in-universe Port Charles, that these are different buildings, but it's still weird visually that Lulu is living (on the set) where her father accidentally killed her grandmother and in rage killed her grandfather
    • If DAYS didn't write Philip Kiriakis as such a wishy-washy loser in love, he'd fit that role as a great recast and turn the character into more of a leading man than a wuss.
