Joshua Benard, Maurice Benard, Sonny Corinthos, General Hospital, GH, #GH, GH ABC

Joshua Benard is returning to “General Hospital,” his father, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), recently announced. The younger Benard was last seen on the daytime drama series in 2018 playing a younger version of his father’s character in flashbacks.

While details of his return have not been released, fans can look forward to seeing the younger Benard again on the Wednesday, March 16 episode.

Joshua has been making a name for himself since his acting debut in 2017’s “The Ghost and the Whale,” which starred his father playing the role of Joseph Hawthorne, a bi-polar man shrouded in a mystery after he returns to the sleepy town of Bodega alone. When an acclaimed journalist comes to town, they must together try to uncover the truth of what happened to Hawthorne’s wife following her disappearance and his subsequent exoneration when it creates a divide around town, and moreover her bloodthirsty family. Joshua played a younger version of Joseph.

More recently, Joshua had roles in the 2020 short “Boys of a Certain Age” and appeared in a 2021 episode of ABC’s “Station 19.”

The younger Benard is an avid singer, pianist and guitar player, in addition to his burgeoning acting career.

Check out a clip below of his playing “Corpse Bride” on the Piano.
