“General Hospital” has decided to recast the contract role of Jordan Ashford with actress/model Tanisha Harper. She replaces Briana Nicole Henry who exited the series in September 2021.

“Rules were meant to be broken…because if they weren’t I wouldn’t have a job! Looking forward to my new series regular role as Police Commissioner Jordan Ashford on General Hospital weekdays on ABC,” said Harper in a post on Instagram following news of her casting.

Making her television acting debut in 2006 playing the role of Heather in the short-lived myNetworkTV telenovela style primetime series “Desire,” Harper has appeared on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Dear White People,” “Hacks” and more recently in “Dollface,” among others.

As a model, Harper has starred in several music videos, including for the Chris Brown song “Yeah 3x” and 50 Cent’s “Get Up.” In 2008, she appeared as a model in the film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” Harper also appeared as herself, modeling in multiple episodes of “Project Runway” and “Models of the Runway,” both in 2009.

Harper is set to make her first appearance as Jordan on “General Hospital” starting in March.

Deadline first reported Harper’s casting.
