Congrats to Ronela Hajati for her victory in Festivali i Kenges last night with Sekret and earning the right to represent Albania 🇦🇱 in Turin next year. The next country to reveal their song is expected to be Poland on 15 January, so watch this space…

The draw for the semi-final allocations for Eurovision 2022 will be taking place on 25 January at 12:00 CET. Countries apart from the Big 5 (who automatically gain entry to the Grand Final) will be randomly allocated to one of the two semi-finals, as well as which half of that semi-final.

Each of the 36 semi-finalists has been designated to certain pots to minimise as much as possible the risk of “block voting”, as you can see below. There will also be a separate draw to determine in which semi-final each Big 5 country will be allowed to vote in.

Quite an update here! Firstly, we have a LOGO and SLOGAN! The Sound Of Beauty, inspired by the phenomenon of cymatics…

More info around the theme art is here:

Also, the allocation draw for the semi-finals was completed today in Turin, and here’s how it panned out below. To note, this is NOT the finalised running order - that will be determined by the producers once all songs and staging plans are submitted to the EBU.

Peeps, we now have TWO more confirmed songs. Moldova chose theirs in a live-streamed internal selection this afternoon, and Spain made their choice tonight in a nail biting vote in the final of Benidorm Fest. Songs are below, and have also been added to the first post:

And now we can add Italy! Mahmood & Blanco won Sanremo tonight, but we had to wait for them to officially confirm their participation in Turin, which came through moments ago. This is the second Sanremo victory for Mahmood, following his win in 2019, and of course he went on to place 2nd at Eurovision in Tel-Aviv that year behind Duncan Laurence.

Here’s their Sanremo entry, which will 99% be the song they’ll send to Turin…

Sadly this week, Ukraine’s contestant pulled out of the contestant due to a controversy over forged documents relating to a 2015 visit to Crimea. It is not yet determined if Ukraine will send another contestant in her place.

Ukraine will be represented by Kalush Orchestra and their song "Stefania" instead.

Several countries, including Norway, The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Latvia want to ban Russia from this year's Eurovision Song Contest due to what's happening in the Ukraine. Finland has outright stated that they will boycott the contest this year if Russia is allowed to participate.
