So, a writer of any time who could do GREAT on a soap.

For example,  HP Lovecraft AND Edgar Allen Poe on Dark Shadows or louisa may alcott on Guiding Light or World Turns

I was thinking about this idea when I was binge watching a certain show.  This show is known for tackling social issues and current events in unexpected ways.  The show itself centered around a town who is its own character.  The main characters being quirky yet understandable, most notably the most popular.  The character is one who is deeply insecure, does horrible things, but they stem for daddy issues.  The show ISN'T All My Children.

The show is South Park and the Character is Eric Cartmen.

I feel, if in check, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators and writers for South Park, would do WELL on All My Children.  They could, if anything be associate writers who develop humours characters that reflect social issues.  Hell, Billy Clyde Tuggle is right ouf of there playbook.  And, yeah, so is Langley, Pheobe, Opal (Especially Early Opal), Edna, and Enid.

Aside from that, who else could do good at other shows?  I wonder if HG Welles, with his social commentary, would do good at a show?  Jackie Collins for either Where the Heart Is and Passions?

Arthur Doyle for Edge of Night!

Um, how would the late Stephen J. Cannell have fared as a writer for Santa Barbara?  He actually appeared on Santa Barbara, for crying out loud!
