I've been sort of indifferent to the casino stuff but it was probably the best part of the show tonight for me (aside from the surprise cameo from the Log Lady - I'm so happy she got to close the book on her "Laura is the one" intro). Amy Shiels gave such a fascinating performance in some truly weird material. I don't know if Candie is heavily medicated, or just in some permanent trauma, but she would go from freaking me out (like when she accidentally hit Knepper with the remote) to annoying everyone by yammering away with Tom Sizemore instead of bringing him up to the office.

I felt like the whole "men brutalize women" narrative was overplayed in this episode to the point of numbness, but the scenes with Richard, Sylvia and Johnny were extremely well done. They were very A Clockwork Orange. I know Lynch is a huge Kubrick fan. It was good to see the woman who plays Sylvia getting to do some acting. I wasn't surprised to see Ben's reaction to the whole thing - he can try to be good as much as he wants, the real Ben is never far from the surface.

I never realized that some fans were sure Albert was gay and are therefore very offended by the story with Constance. I never really saw him that way - I never thought about his sexuality one way or the other. I don't need to see Albert in a romance but I like that he's found someone he can bond with.

The Tammy stuff was weirder than usual in this episode. I'm not sure if she's going to turn out to be betraying them all and setting Diane up, or if it's a double betrayal from both ladies, or if it's a fakeout.

I got the feeling that Janey-E will be dying soon...the whole thing of her finally having sexual fulfillment with Dougie and being happy in her marriage felt like closing some type of circle. And all the bloodshed would likely be what brings Cooper back.

Kyle Maclachlan did a very good job in that last scene - the look on "Dougie's" face. He looked so innocent.

I really could give a fùck about some people's Gay Albert fanfic. I like Albert and Constance.

I think what Lynch presents of the men in this episode is that most of the 'bad' ones are weak or buffoons. The Mitchums are undone and flustered by Candie at every turn; they're like big kids. Ben gives in to temptation with Beverly because Sylvia emasculates him. Steven is a wreck. I think the material reflects far worse on those men. Even Carl is too weak in the face of evil to act, because what pervades the town is too strong for him to always stand against. His inaction in the face of horror is commonplace in America.

The Hornes scene was really unsettling, but they kept juxtaposing horror and comedy really well for me. I could've watched an hour of just Candie and the Mitchums. That was a hoot. And I loved Janey-E. I don't think she will die, but I do think Cooper will leave to face Twin Peaks and his double (and hopefully go back to her).

The shot of Laura was from FWWM, when Laura shows up at Donna's door after running into BOB in her bedroom. Really hope Diane is not the black hat she appears, because I think that scene with her and the Bad Dale in part 7 is a standout in its original context. I'm not sure what is going on there.

Thanks for telling me where that scene was from.

Sometimes I think that some of the fans who are most active in talking about the show may just not be on Lynch's wavelength or the wide generation gap comes into play. I saw some fans talking about how Janey took advantage of Dougie or that the scene was rape played for laughs. I didn't really take it that way (although I think we were maybe supposed to be a little uncomfortable).

I hope there will be another twist with Diane as well. The fact that we never saw her actually text back is what makes me wonder if all isn't as it seems.

Yeah, I have zero patience for the male rape hot takes that may come out of this episode.

I can't see Lynch turning Diane/Laura Dern into a villainess. There has to be more at work. Her reaction was too real.

    • -- We're getting really bad soap. I honestly couldn't care less about any of it, and I wish the ratings would freefall so we'd get a change in writers. -- Does anyone believe Victor would spend his evenings walking around the GCAC and looking for people to talk to? Without Nikki on his arm? -- I'm again left to looking at sets (the few we get each day). Am I right that they moved the bar in at the GCAC to place it more diagonally to the dining room? -- The last time we saw Crimson Lights the room looked smaller to me, so I Googled images of CL, and yeah, it's smaller. Along the back wall where the booths are, there once was wall area behind the booth on the right. That wall area is now gone. -- When Phyllis hijacked Billy's phone to get Dumas' number, I gagged when she went to the park in the middle of the night to break into it. Who does that? -- I feel sorry for these actors. This is all such garbage that I have no words.

    • I think early RH had arguably some of the most complex characters on daytime; people who were truly neither all saints nor all sinners.
    • I remember reading posts a while back theorizing that Hayley and June could be sisters.  I compared their voices in today's episode, and I believe it's possible.  Maybe the photo is Hayley and June as children or teens?
    • I would be lying if I said I cared about the direction of this Mama June storyline. Doesn't make me care that much for Jacob or Naomi...although I actually want to know these characters better, but just not in this capacity.  Honestly, it would be best if she's somehow connected to Hayley, because that character is seriously in a corner. Even after all they did, Eva and Leslie have more reason to interact with the rest of the cast.
    • -- Great scenes with Andre and Nicole. -- I hope Dani loses Andre because she wants to keep him hidden. He deserves better, and I have no idea why she's acting that way. -- The hair stuff with Eva at the end was fun, but does she carry hair pieces and extensions with her, too? -- Samantha looks 30 lately. I can't unsee it now that I know. -- I am glad we already see Eva and Samantha getting along. I didn't want weeks of Samantha shading her. -- Clifton Davis was pretending he can't sing, and that didn't work. It looked like we were watching someone pretending he can't hit a note. -- They need to step up this Anita storyline. Watching her and Vernon praise each other every day is getting tiresome. -- Hayley clearing Bill's desk to have sex was cringe. He enjoyed it, but it won't be long before he realizes he married a little girl instead of a woman.
    • @Jason47 For Your Information, generally.  I have just exchanged emails with the Paley Center. They got back to me within 24 hours!!  They have  However,  I have suggested to them that it is a clerical error Hart instead of Hunter but gave them the info on her years, her character name & that she did indeed marry David Martin. I referred her to imdb & wiki to double check me, should she wish to make a notation.  Now for the bad news:  So, that's a shame. If anyone is in the vicinity, you can view videos sitting in a cubicle. I did so when we lived in Brooklyn. Their hours: The Paley Center is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
    • The way Andre held Dani afterwards, be still my heart. They think its only booty call hook ups, but I'm sensing a love slowly growing.  Way too much booty popping LOL.
    • I'm just pleased the homeless plotline has a point. I'm surprised they're going here this soon with the kids.
    • All caught up on May 2025, and it was rough. Truly rough.
