When they try to put him in these emotional scenes, Stitch looks like a giant, hairy infant. He is an attractive guy but he can't handle major story.

That's quite an image, Vee. I can see what you're saying though...I'm getting a picture of his face and his eyes squinting and narrowing right now. What you just mentioned provides a ringing endorsement for one of Marland's rules of writing. Stitch really should have been a background player (a notch above dayplayer) for at least six months before putting him in any heavy story. Have him be Nikki's doctor, be a GP for other castmembers, make inroads in the community as he branches out from just being Dylan's friend. Then test the waters toward a romantic relationship (remember when characters used to flirt?) having him date a few people.

Then viewers might have cared just a little when his world started to fall apart.

But what am I saying, soaps don't do that sort of thing anymore. They don't have the time. Or is it budget? After all, most of the time, they're only on 5 or 7 days a week.
