They are covering Amy Winehouse's signature song and reports surfaced first Mr Winehouse trashed it and Beyonce, and then where he said he never said any such thing.  I love the song and there is something catchy about this portion that is already online.

Glee had a good cover too but not very original

 

Do you think there is any upside for Beyonce in covering this song?   She will never be considered a better singer than Winehouse and this was one of her mega songs.

I think the whole hip-hop element is a total no no.. especially in a movie that is set in the 1920s. perhaps if they had updated the movie, they could have done a hip-hop and electro-pop soundtrack.

I still don't know why they couldn't have used the original Amy Whinehouse instead of this poor remake?

It wasn't quite as awful as I thought it would be, but it's still bad, and Beyonce lacks any kind of emotion in her voice. But maybe I'm a bit biased since I absolutely love Amy's original version.
