Members allmc2008
I know DOOL was the first to broadcast in color but wasn't Dark the first to use video tape??
Members saynotoursoap
Actually, Days was not the first color soap. This distinction goes to Ben Jerrod, a short-lived NBC soap debuting the same day as The Doctors: April 1, 1963 . To the best of my knowledge, the first soap to be regularly videotaped was The Clear Horizon in 1962. Initially, it was televised live but switched to tape when it returned from a hiatus for retooling.
Members EricMontreal22
Didn't Guiding Light have an early colour episode as an experiment that Irna sabotaged by writing it all in an all white hospital? By the time Dark Shadows premiered most soaps used videotape for different time zone broadcasts. Dan Curtis was just smart enough (and with enough money) to hold on to the tapes and not allow them to be wiped as was common.

Members allmc2008
I am probably in the minority but I would love to meet Irna. Not to talk about the stories but to try to figure out why she was the way she was if you know what I mean. I think she was the original B**** of daytime but for good reason. Members CSF
In Agnes Nixon's Archive video which is still on YouTube, she talks a little bit about Irna Phillips and the way she was. She also mentions a few things about Irna's life that kinda of describes the personality she had.
