Yes but she had a long history with Sonny by the time she became his lapdog for some of the TB years. She has none of that with Johnny. He's basically been this weird guy she has sex with, who also raped a woman, and is now a child killer. I don't see how any of this is true to Carly's character.

Johnny admits everything to Carly and pleads his case. She’s angry but sees he loves her and was afraid of losing her. While she tries to process the info, Johnny proposes. Although ambivalent about it, Carly signs the divorce papers and marries Johnny. She does care for him but she is more interested in not having to testify against him.

This sets the stage for the next return of the Jax brothers. Johnny will have a new partners in crime……………

She maried Sonny to keep from testifying against him after dating (if you can call it that) him for a few months. she didnt have the years worth of history by that point when she was going out of her way to protect him and justify his actions to others. She was hooked after that.

She didn't have years but she had a certain connection with him, love/hate, which had gone on for a while.

I just don't get her relationship with Johnny. It doesn't make sense for the Carly of today.

I guess that's the problem. I felt the connection with Sonny. I never have with Johnny. I don't believe that Carly would say, "You're a rapist" and then climb into bed with a man a few weeks later.
