Soap Operas With a Social Message

An interesting Times article, dealing with education in soap operas.

While it writes mostly about foreign soaps, I thought it would be interesting to post here because it also used to apply to American soaps, before their sense of morality was completely, utterly lost in favor of noble rape and such.

This article is also notable for not taking the position that soap operas are horrible, trashy entertainment that will never compare to anything else. What a surprise.
