RECKELL SETS RECORD: Congratulations to Peter Reckell (Bo), who is now the all-time "Days of Our Lives" leader in monthly episode appearances! Reckell's September 2011 lead marks the 45th time he has led the monthly rankings. He passes Macdonald Carey (Tom Horton), who led the rankings for 44 months during his tenure with the show from November 1965 to February 1994. It is the first time Reckell has led the monthly rankings since August 2009...Tying Reckell for the lead in September 2011 is, fittingly, Kristian Alfonso (Hope). This is Alfonso's 37th time to lead the monthly rankings. She last led the rankings in April 2008...This is the 16th time that Alfonso and Reckell have led the monthly rankings together, and the first time since June 2006. They have led the monthly rankings together in November 1984, January 1986, May 1990, August 1995, September 1995, November 1996, October 1998, September 1999, April 2000, December 2001, April 2002, May 2002, April 2004, April 2006, June 2006 and September 2011.

HALL JOINS RARE GROUP: Deidre Hall (Marlena) has become just the 9th "Days" actor to appear on "Days" in at least five different decades. Here is the full list:

      I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.

      No. There might have been a slight pause for dramatic effect after his "death," but pretty soon after they showed him in France getting plastic surgery and getting involved with his doctor, then planning with her to bring Christina to France. (She thought he had good reason to do it; she wasn't a bad person or anything). Now that I think of it, there must have been some kind of pause before that, during the 70s, because when Rita was accused of killing a patient when she lived in Texas, part of the backstory was that Roger had been there, too. Not sure exactly when or how long that was.

      I've already stated that I don't like Doug being written as this meek and submissive. It was so lame watching him leave her like that. Vanessa can divorce him, but she then needs to get her thot ass into therapy. She's not only having sex with every guy she runs into, but is now having  sex with a skeevy perv on a poker table. I'm going to give the BTG some credit here. For months, many on this board were delighting in the Vanessa/Joey flirting and what they saw as chemistry. I think we're now seeing what the writers always intended -- that Joey is a disgusting POS wannabe mobster.

      The whole town gushing over John Black as if he was a saint is eye rolling.  I guess death really colors people's memories over his many flaws, but I guess that is normal and human nature. I'm still confused as to why Leo hasn't been written out.  The actor stank up two soaps with his sub par acting, what does he have on TPTB's to remain on these soaps.   What's the point of Cat?  I hope the new head-writers figure out her purpose and develop her character. And I much prefer scenes not focusing on John's death because life does go on for the world when someone passes.
